Fulham vs. Burnley: Head-to-head record and past meetings

Head-to-head record

Previous meetings: 102

Burnley wins: 49

Draws: 21

Fulham wins: 32

Burnley and Fulham have faced each other a total of 101 times across all competitions, with the Clarets leading the overall head-to-head record having posted 49 wins to the Cottagers' 32, while 21 draws have been played out between the two clubs.

Fulham celebrated five wins in their opening seven encounters with Burnley, including a 1-0 away success in their very first meeting in the old Division Two back in October 1907, before the Clarets responded by prevailing in eight of the next 14 games across all competitions (D3 L3).

Both Burnley and Fulham had their fair share of successes during their regular battles in Divisions One and Two - and briefly Three - over the years. The Clarets enjoyed a particularly dominant spell in this fixture between August 1951 and September 1971 when they won 15 and drew three of their 21 league meetings (L3).

The biggest victory by either side in this fixture, to date, was celebrated by Burnley in October 1960 when they Clarets put the Cottagers to the sword 5-0 on home soil in Division One en route to securing a fourth-placed finish, a year after winning their second-ever top-flight title.

Since the inception of the Premier League, Burnley and Fulham have locked horns just nine times in total, and while the Cottagers racked up seven points from their first three meetings in the division (W2 D1), the Clarets have won three, drawn two and lost just one of their last six.

Most recently, Marco Silva's Londoners made the trip to face Scott Parker's side at Turf Moor, with Fulham escaping 3-2 winners in December 2025. However, the relegation-threatened hosts were the better team that day, even if they were undone by two assists and a goal from Harry Wilson.

Outside of league football, Fulham have won only one of their 10 FA Cup encounters with Burnley (D3 L6 - including replays) - a 2-1 first-round home victory back in January 1912 - while the Clarets prevailed in the only EFL Cup meeting between the two clubs in September 2008, when Jay Rodriguez scored an 88th-minute winner to seal a slender 1-0 home win in the third round.

Referee at centre of FA Cup storm to officiate Burnley's clash at Fulham
Burnley head back on the road this weekend with a trip down to the capital to face Fulham, looking to get back to winning ways.

Scott Parker's side are desperately in need of three points to give their admittedly slim survival hopes a boost.

The Clarets remain nine points adrift of safety with only eight games remaining, leaving them in last chance saloon territory following a dismal run of one win in 21 league games.

They face a Fulham side that are in with a shot of European qualification, sitting 11th but only three points adrift of seventh.

Who is the referee for Fulham v Burnley?
Chris Kavanagh, of Greater Manchester.

He's overseen 37 games so far this season, dishing out 144 yellow cards and four reds.

Twenty-two of those fixtures have come in the Premier League, 10 in Europe, four in cup competitions and the Community Shield between Crystal Palace and Liverpool at the start of the season.

Kavanagh made headlines last month when he was stood down from a round of Premier League fixtures after making a series of high-profile errors during the FA Cup tie between Aston Villa and Newcastle United.

With VAR not in use during the fourth round clash, Kavanagh failed to award the Magpies a penalty despite Lucas Digne clearly handling inside the area, instead awarding a free-kick outside the box.

Wayne Rooney described the handball as 'one of the worst decisions he's ever seen'.

A high tackle from Digne on Newcastle's Jacob Murphy was also not adjudged to be reckless.

Asked whether referees were hiding behind VAR, Newcastle boss Eddie Howe said: "There's an argument to say that, because when VAR is there, there's always a: 'well, I won't give that, but let's check it.'

"I think then your decision-making maybe isn't as sharp as it may normally have to be."

The Burnley Express has launched a new WhatsApp channel to bring the latest news, analysis and team & injury updates directly to your phone. Simply click this link to join our Burnley Express WhatsApp channel.

The Premier League's Key Match Incidents (KMI) Panel also concurred Kavanagh ought to have awarded Brighton a penalty during their recent 1-0 defeat to Arsenal.

Seagulls midfielder Mats Wieffer was hauled to the ground by Gabriel Martinelli, but Kavanagh allowed play to continue and VAR didn't intervene.

But the KMI Panel voted 4:1 that a spot-kick should have been awarded on the field and 3:2 that it was a missed VAR intervention.

What history does he have with Burnley?
Kavanagh took charge of Burnley's 2-0 home defeat to Arsenal earlier this season as well as the 1-1 draw at Bournemouth, where Armando Broja scored a dramatic late equaliser to end the Clarets' seven-game losing run.

Prior to this season, Kavanagh was the man who sent Oli McBurnie off during Burnley's 5-0 thrashing of Sheffield United in December 2023.

Who is on VAR duty?
Nick Hopton, assisted by Tony Harrington.

Dan Cook and Ian Hussin will run the line, while Craig Pawson is fourth official.

Pre-Burnley Press Conference
Marco Silva appreciates the significance of taking a positive result into the upcoming international break.

After Saturday's meeting with Burnley, it will be three weeks until the next Fulham fixture, so when asked if this could be a pivotal moment in our campaign, Silva replied: "Yes, as I've been mentioning to you as the season is going, all the games are becoming even more crucial.

"Of course, it's not that the win now gets you more points than in the past, it's because you don't have a long time to recover from some things that you do well or not so well. And that is the main thing for us.

"And, of course, we want to be back in winning ways at the Cottage as well, because the last two results were tough for us at home, and we want to recover from that.

"We have to enjoy again a good result and to have a good result at home and good performance, if we can, with our fans behind ourselves. Burnley is going to be the next one and, as you said, it's a crucial one, before a long period without games – that is important.

"Even if we are going to have a short number of players with us because of the international duties, it's very important for us to go into the international break with a different mood, lift the mood between ourselves, our fans, to face what is going to come after.

"But it's very, very important this game, and [Burnley] have been showing that they are difficult for many, many teams when they play, and even more away than at home, as well.

"It's a crucial game for us to be back in the right track, and to get three points that are going to be difficult."

Despite taking just a point from our most recent fixtures with West Ham and Nottingham Forest, Fulham remain within sight of our targets going into the final eight matches.

Depending on results elsewhere, we could go into the international break in eighth, and when asked if a European finish remains a motivating factor, Silva was absolute.

"100 per cent sure, definitely, definitely. That big battle is there for the seventh/eighth position, and we want to be part of that battle.

"And for us to be part of it, we have to get points, and the next three points that we are going to fight for, in the match against Burnley, are going to be crucial."

Fulham duo to be assessed ahead of 'crucial' game
Fulham duo Emile Smith Rowe and Kenny Tete will be assessed before Marco Silva names his line-up for Saturday's game against Burnley.

Smith Rowe missed last week's draw against Nottingham Forest after picking up an injury in training, while Tete suffered a knock in that game.

"Emile was out of the last game, so we will need to make the right decisions for the (Burnley) game," Whites boss Silva said.

"The first days of the week, he was not totally fit, but he's getting better. It's a decision that we are going to take regarding tomorrow's game.

"Him and Kenny, we have to make decisions about both. Tete had a knock on the foot, still painful. Let's see if he's going to be ready or not."

Fulham have failed to score in their past two Premier League matches and Silva has described this weekend's game as "crucial" to their chances of securing a European spot.

They are 11th in the table, four points behind seventh-placed Brentford, who they will face next month, and seven points behind Chelsea in sixth.

Fulham vs Burnley: Preview and Prediction
Fulham and Burnley will be eager to return to winning ways when they lock horns at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

The international break is nearly upon us, and Premier League teams will aim to build momentum heading into the run-in as they prepare for Gameweek 31. The action on Saturday will start with the game between Brighton & Hove Albion and Liverpool before continuing with Fulham vs Burnley at Craven Cottage.

Fulham's upturn in form was brief, as after securing successive victories over Sunderland and Tottenham Hotspur, they dropped points against two relegation contenders. The latest setback was a frustrating goalless draw against Nottingham Forest, with the West London club dropping out of the top half of the Premier League table due to that result.

On the other hand, Burnley's resilience has improved in recent weeks, and they have secured some crucial points against better teams. The Clarets have taken points off Bournemouth, Chelsea, and Crystal Palace since February. However, despite the enhanced performance, Scott Parker's men remain 19th in the Premier League standings, with 17th-placed Nottingham Forest being nine points ahead.

The reverse fixture saw Fulham secure a hard-fought 3-2 win over Burnley at Turf Moor, with Harry Wilson scoring the match-winning goal. The Hard Tackle looks closer at the encounter ahead of the latest meeting between the two sides.

Team News & Tactics

Fulham
Marco Silva has received a positive update on the team news front ahead of his side's latest fixture. The Fulham head coach may be bereft of the services of only one first-team player vs Burnley on Saturday.

Silva has been sweating over Emile Smith Rowe's fitness, with the English playmaker struggling with a knock. He faces a late fitness test to determine his availability. However, Kevin remains in the treatment room due to his foot injury.

Bernd Leno is an automatic pick between the sticks, with Fulham lining up in a 4-2-3-1 formation in front of him vs Burnley on Saturday. The backline will feature Kenny Tete, Joachim Andersen, Calvin Bassey, and Antonee Robinson.

As for the midfield unit, there is no looking past Sander Berge and Alex Iwobi in the double pivot, with Joshua King reprising the no. 10 role. Finally, Raul Jimenez will lead the line for Fulham against Burnley, with Oscar Bobb and Harry Wilson being the two wide attackers.

Probable Lineup (4-2-3-1): Leno; Tete, Andersen, Bassey, Robinson; Berge, Iwobi; Wilson, King, Bobb; Jimenez

Burnley
Unlike his counterpart in the Fulham dugout, Scott Parker has a new issue that is hampering his preparations ahead of his side's latest fixture. The Burnley head coach may be without over half a dozen first-team players on Saturday.

Parker is sweating over Maxime Esteve's fitness, as the French defender is struggling with an illness. He faces a late fitness test to determine his availability. However, Axel Tuanzebe (Achilles), Jordan Beyer (hamstring), Connor Roberts (Achilles), Josh Cullen (knee), and Zeki Amdouni (knee) remain in the treatment room. Meanwhile, the game comes too soon for Mike Tresor, even though he has resumed training.

Martin Dubravka is an automatic pick between the sticks, with Burnley lining up in a 3-4-2-1 formation in front of him vs Fulham on Saturday. The central defensive unit will feature Bashir Humphreys, Josh Laurent, and Maxime Esteve. Meanwhile, Kyle Walker and Quilindschy Hartman will be the two wing-backs.

The wide duo will provide width in the final third and protect the three centre-backs. As for the midfield unit, there is no looking past Lesley Ugochukwu and Hannibal Mejbri in the middle of the park. Finally, Zian Flemming will spearhead the Burnley attack against Fulham, with Lyle Foster and Jaidon Anthony completing the numbers in the offensive unit.

Probable Lineup (3-4-2-1): Dubravka; Humphreys, Laurent, Esteve; Walker, Ugochukwu, Hannibal, Hartman; Anthony, Foster; Flemming

Key Stats

Following the 3-2 win in December, Fulham will aim to complete the league double over Burnley for the first time since 1950/51. The Clarets have won three of their last four away league games against Fulham (L1), emerging victorious on their two most recent visits to Craven Cottage by the same scoreline (2-0).
Fulham have lost only one of their last 14 Premier League games against promoted sides (W8 D5), going down 1-0 against Leeds United in January. Meanwhile, the Clarets have lost 1-0 against West Ham United and drawn 0-0 with Nottingham Forest in their two most recent Premier League games. They last went three matches without a goal in December 2023, a run which included a 2-0 home defeat to Burnley.
Burnley have won just one of their last 21 Premier League games (D7 L13), but four of their ten points in this run have come away against London sides (3-2 vs Crystal Palace, 1-1 vs Chelsea).
Burnley have kept just one clean sheet in their last 41 Premier League away matches, conceding in each of their last 25 since a 2-0 win at Fulham in December 2023.
Of all opponents he has faced ten or more times in the Premier League, Kyle Walker has a higher win rate against Fulham than any other side (90% – 9/10). His first-ever goal in the competition also came against the Cottagers, in February 2011, with Aston Villa.

Player to Watch

Harry Wilson
While Raul Jimenez, Zian Flemming, and Jaidon Anthony were viable candidates for this section, we have picked Harry Wilson as the Player to Watch for Saturday's Premier League clash between Fulham and Burnley at Craven Cottage.

The Welsh international is Fulham's top scorer in the Premier League this season with nine goals. He could be just the second British player to reach double figures for the West London club in a campaign, after Andrew Cole in 2004/05 (12).

Meanwhile, Wilson has been involved in 15 Premier League goals for Fulham this season (G9 A6). The last Welsh player with more in a campaign was Aaron Ramsey in 2013/14 (18). With the Fulham talisman in such exciting form, it is hardly surprising that he is a captaincy candidate in FPL for Gameweek 31.

Prediction
Fulham 2-1 Burnley

Fulham and Burnley engaged in a closely-contested affair in the reverse fixture, and another engrossing affair may be on the cards, considering the away side's recent upsurge in form. Additionally, the Cottagers have endured a frustrating run in recent weeks, dropping points against two relegation contenders.

Burnley will take the game to Fulham, and there may not be much to separate the two sides this weekend. However, while the visitors will be optimistic about their prospects, they will not have enough quality to secure a point or three. The Hard Tackle predicts a hard-fought 2-1 win for Marco Silva and his charges, with Harry Wilson delivering the goods again.

After missing almost three months through injury, Rodrigo Muniz is back - not yet at full throttle, but edging closer with every minute, every session, every touch of the ball.

"It's been a difficult season for me," the forward tells the official matchday programme for the visit of Burnley. "I was out for a long time, so it wasn't easy. Even now, I don't feel 100 per cent yet. I need more time, more training, more minutes in games.

"But it's really good to come back. I feel happy. Now I just need to keep working, keep improving, and get back to my best as soon as possible to help the team."

The hunger is clear.  "I need to do more," said Muniz, who underwent surgery on a hamstring issue in November. "I need to improve myself."

Elsewhere in the publication, Marco Silva, Tom Cairney and Robert Wilson pen their regular columns, while Oscar Bobb lifts the lid on his teammates and Gerry Peyton is the next interview in our Cult Heroes series.

The programme will be on sale around the ground on Sunday, priced £4, or available to purchase online.

Manchester United, Liverpool vying for Antonee Robinson
Manchester United and Liverpool are both keen on signing Fulham full-back Antonee Robinson this summer.

Antonee Robinson's future has become an interesting talking point as we close in on the summer transfer window. Since he will only have two years left on his deal, Fulham could look to cash in on him.

According to Mark Brus, Liverpool and Manchester United are interested in the American full-back, who will be made available for around £30-40 million. While both English giants are keen on signing Robinson, they are unsure about paying the high asking price.

After making a name for himself at Wigan, Robinson made the move to Craven Cottage in the summer of 2020. He has established himself as one of their mainstays, and his impressive performances haven't gone unnoticed.

While he has had a few injury problems in the ongoing campaign, the 28-year-old remains an integral part of Marco Silva's plans. Despite his importance in their setup, there are high chances of him being on the move in the summer.

Robinson could join an English giant
Since his contract runs out in 2028, the upcoming transfer window could be Fulham's final opportunity to raise a significant fee from his sale. The Cottagers would be willing to offload him for £30-40 million, as per the report.

Manchester United and Liverpool have emerged as potential destinations for the American full-back. The Red Devils are looking at him as an ideal replacement for injury-prone Luke Shaw. Meanwhile, Andrew Robertson could end up parting ways with the Reds this summer, and Robinson could take his place in their team.

While Liverpool do have Milos Kerkez, he hasn't lived up to the expectations, and they want a more reliable figure. While both clubs are keen on his signature, they are unsure about the price tag. They consider it to be a touch on the higher side.

The player's desire could play a big part, and Fulham might have to consider lowering their demands, as his value will only go down post the summer transfer window.

Fulham v Burnley: Team news, predicted teams and TV details as Clarets return to the capital
Burnley will be hoping for one last roll of the dice in their fight after relegation as they head back to the capital to face Fulham.

The Clarets sit nine points adrift of safety with only eight games remaining, making it now or never for Scott Parker's side.

But with only one league win to their name from their last 21 games, the outlook isn't looking good for Burnley, who are staring down the barrel of a third straight relegation from this level.

Their recent form in London has been good, however, drawing against Chelsea a few weeks ago having come from behind to record a remarkable 3-2 win at Crystal Palace just before.

They face a Fulham side who are in the hunt for a European spot, sitting 11th and four points adrift of Brentford in seventh.

Here's all the important information ahead of today's fixture:

When and where is the game taking place?
The match is being held at Fulham's Craven Cottage stadium on Saturday, March 21. Kick off is at 3pm.

Is it on TV?
No, the game falls behind the UK's Saturday 3pm blackout.

How else can I follow the game?
Burnley FC writer Matt Scrafton will be providing live updates on his X feed, followed by a match report, post-match reaction and further analysis on the Burnley Express' website.

What's the latest team news?
Mike Tresor remains a doubt, while Jordan Beyer, Axel Tuanzebe, Connor Roberts, Josh Cullen and Zeki Amdouni remain sidelined.

Marcus Edwards, Zian Flemming and Armando Broja all returned from injury against Bournemouth last week.

As for Fulham, they're only absentee is club record signing Kevin, who is expected to miss the remainder of the season with a metatarsal injury.

The Burnley Express has launched a new WhatsApp channel to bring the latest news, analysis and team & injury updates directly to your phone. Simply click this link to join our Burnley Express WhatsApp channel.

Scott Parker's pre-match comments
"There will be a few familiar faces, no doubt. I've got a lot of fond memories there.

"I was there for a long part of the back end of my career, and then obviously got the role as a coach and then obviously managed the team, so there were a lot of fond memories, really.

"It's a brilliant club and yeah, I'm looking forward to going back, as always.

"But as always, my main focus is us and what we need to bring and how we need to go about it at the weekend.

"It's a very good side. Brilliant coach, well-coached team, a team that's been together now for some time.

"They've established themselves now, and they've got individual talent in their team, recruited very well, and they've got individual talent that can hurt you.

"We saw that at times when we played them at home. While I thought we were strong on the day, they hurt us in certain moments, a couple of set plays and obviously a counter-attacking goal, and you can see the quality that they have.

"This will be a tough fixture and I think it's been proven, certainly at their place, that they're a strong outfit and they've picked up some really strong, positive results.

"But, like I said, we go there with one thought, it's to bring the best version of ourselves and try and get a result."

What are the predicted teams?
Fulham: Leno, Tete, Andersen, Bassey, Robinson, Berge, Iwobi, Wilson, Bobb, King, Jimenez

Burnley: Dubravka, Walker, Humphreys, Esteve, Hartman, Laurent, Ward-Prowse, Hannibal, Edwards, Anthony, Flemming

Who is the referee?
Chris Kavanagh. He's overseen 37 games so far this season, dishing out 144 yellow cards and four reds. He took charge of Burnley's 2-0 home defeat to Arsenal earlier this season and the 1-1 draw at Bournemouth. Nick Hopton is on VAR duty.

What are the latest odds?
Fulham: 8/15

Draw: 3/1

Burnley: 5/1

Odds according to SkyBet and are correct at the time of writing.

"New to me" – Manager disappointed as he confirms transfer to Fulham
PSV Eindhoven manager Peter Bosz has confirmed Ricardo Pepi has returned to the club, after completing his Fulham medial.

Marco Silva's side showed serious interest in the American in January and made multiple bids. The Dutch club's officials had confirmed the offers, and the last one was right before the window closed.

However, PSV refused to sanction a move as there wasn't sufficient time to find a quality replacement in the winter market.

Fulham didn't give up and continued to chase the striker, who has scored 13 goals and contributed two assists from 27 matches this season.

Below are his stats per game from the Eredivisie.

    Expected Goals per season: 8.30
Big chances created per season: 2
    Key passes: 0.6
    Shots on target: 1.3
    Goal conversion: 23%
    Possession lost: 3.7

The Premier League side are fully committed and recently made concrete advances to bring him to London in the summer.

Four days ago, Sport Witness covered claims from the Dutch press that Fulham and PSV have reached an agreement for €40m including bonuses.

On Wednesday, the 23-year-old made a trip to the UK to undergo medical tests with the English club.

Manager confirms Fulham medical
The Eredivisie side face Telstar on Sunday, and Bosz had a pre-match press conference on Friday. Omroep Brabant have relayed his comments on Pepi's medical with Fulham and his summer move to London.

"He flew there on Wednesday afternoon and spent the entire day on Thursday undergoing the medical," he said.

The manager says Pepi returned to training on Friday and he's surprised that development took place at this stage of the season.

"So early on, that's new to me too. We also have to see how Pepi handles it," Bosz explained.

The PSV boss is unhappy he won't be able to manage the frontman beyond this season.

"I enjoy working with him. I would have liked to see what he could have done if he'd stayed fit for a full season. It's a shame, but this is the Netherlands, this is who we are: we develop players and sell them for a hefty sum," he added.

Why Fulham would have acted quickly
Marco Silva now has Raúl Jiménez, Rodrigo Muniz and 18-year-old Jonah Kusi-Asare as the three strikers at Fulham.

Muniz has picked up two different injuries this season, restricting his minutes and impacting his form, while Kusi-Asare has hardly featured. Meanwhile, the 34-year-old Mexican's contract expires in June, and his future still needs sorting out.

Therefore, Fulham will need at least one new striker in the summer. A deal for Pepi well in advance allows them to improve a key area.

If Pepi stars at the World Cup, his price can rise further, and an early agreement avoids Fulham from potentially overpaying. That will have been behind the early move here.

Burnley boss Scott Parker on Fulham reunion and former side's top flight success
For the second week running, Scott Parker takes on a former side when his Burnley outfit make the trip to Craven Cottage to face Fulham.

The Clarets played out a 0-0 draw with Bournemouth last week, a side that Parker promoted to the Premier League in 2022.

Parker was also at the helm two years earlier when Fulham first won promotion to the top flight, but was unable to avoid their slide back into the second tier.

Both Fulham and Bournemouth have since managed to establish themselves as Premier League sides, while Burnley are finding it difficult to replicate that consistent success they enjoyed under Sean Dyche.

Unless they're able to pull off a great escape between now and the end of the season, the Clarets are heading towards a third straight relegation from the Premier League.

But what is behind Fulham's success? And how have they been able to sustain gradual improvement, to the point where they're challenging for Europe this season?

Those questions were put to Parker on Friday ahead of this afternoon's clash in West London.

He said: "I think, like anything, you look at those teams, or you look at teams that come up from the Championship, and clearly, from the outset, there's a clear challenge there - which we've obviously brought up many a time over the last couple of years. That's been proven and I think there's many, many different facets to it.

"You know, there isn't just one thing. When people ask the question is: why is it that this team have come up from the Championship and managed to stay? There'll be many, many reasons, whether that's recruitment, whether that's the amount of expenditure they've been able to put into the football club to add quality, whether that is the general processes that have taken place in that moment.

"It's probably just, they've probably done things the right way, largely being investment, and then probably the way they've gone about things.

"There's probably a lot of boxes that they've ticked, and that's a big, big challenge when you're coming up from the Championship, because those challenges are there over every, every facet of the football club, and you need a lot of things to fall into place. Of course you do.

"You need to make brilliant decisions and at certain moments, you need the financial support to give you a real fighting chance at certain moments.

"You'll probably see that in those teams that have managed to stay, or have managed to be in there for a period of time, have been able to slowly progress through that."

Mikael Bonaventure Yetna to make Arsenal U18s debut; Luis Munoz receives first callup against Fulham
U15 prospect Mikael Bonaventure Yetna is set to make his debut for Arsenal U18s today as he has been named in the starting lineup against Fulham.

There is also a first callup at this level for U14s youngster Luis Munoz, who has been named amongst the substitutes.

A versatile player, Bonaventure Yetna can play in midfield or at right-back, while it is possible that he could operate at centre-back today. Yetna has already made his debut for Arsenal U19s.

Munoz can play as an attacking midfielder or forward and became the youngest player in UEFA Youth League history when he featured against Bayern Munich earlier this campaign.

Arsenal are without Brando Bailey-Joseph, Teshaun Murisa, Maalik Hashi and Abraham Owusu-Gyasi, some of whom could be with what is set to be a depleted U21 squad against Sunderland on Monday.

First year scholar Patrick Stachow captains the U18s on his 17th birthday.

There are also starts for Saurap Sampang and Alex Marciniak.

Schoolboys Hakeem Abubakar and Charlie Purdy have been named amongst the substitutes.
