Very contrasting records against the current bottom and top six.
Against the current bottom six, our record has been really good so far this season. With one game to play (Wolves away), our record is P11 W8 D1 L2 GF16 GA7. Wins against Spurs (twice), Burnley (twice), Leeds, Forest, West Ham and Wolves. Two defeats, against Leeds and West Ham (both by the odd goal) and a single draw against Forest. So eight of our thirteen wins have come against the bottom six. Exactly what you need to do in order to stay up.
By contrast our record against the current top six is poor. With three games to play (Arsenal and Liverpool away and Villa at home), our record is P9 W1 D2 L6 GF12 GA 21. The sole win was against Chelsea, two draws against Man Utd and Liverpool, with the six defeats against Man City (twice, inevitably), Chelsea, Villa, Man Utd and Arsenal. So just one of our thirteen wins has come against the top six. Exactly what you need to do to stay middle of the table.
As an aside we are guaranteed to be in the PL next season. Next season will be my 39th after going to see a 1-1 draw with Mansfield in January 1989. Including next season, 20 of my 39 FFC-supporting seasons (now over half) will have been in the top flight. I wouldn't have guessed that as I watched Fulham toil to a draw with Mansfield......
Of course you might " toil " for a draw against the mighty Stags ::wink::
