Title: NFR - Sylvester Jasper
Post by: SerbianLad on April 18, 2026, 07:31:20 PM
I thought some might be interested in an update on former Fulham youth player (I think he debuted for first team as well if I remember correctly).

He's having a superb first season at Zeleznicar Pancevo this season in the Serbian SuperLiga. They are 4th in the table(last season they were bottom half) and he is by far their best and most important player. He's 11th highest rated player in the whole league.

Another former Fulham youth player, Kristian Sekularac, joined him at the club in the winter window too. He's settled in well it seems.

I don't remember Jasper but Sekularac looked a real prospect and I was very sorry he left.

I knew you'd remember him. Is my memory deceiving me or did he make a first team debut too? I seem to remember him coming on in a cup game, but maybe it was a friendly.

Jasper had a loan spell at Colchester Utd, he did OK but nothing special and struggled with the physical side of first team football. To say that we let another talent go is stretching the definition of talent but glad he's found his place in the football world.

He played for us in an FA Cup fixture in 2020 against Man City

Glad he's doing well

Because he was not of the required standard for the Prem or Championship

Probably because he wasn't good enough.

Glad to read that he is doing well elsewhere though.

Update: he's now been named in the Serbian League Team of the Season!

I hope he gets that big transfer to Serie A that is rumoured by multiple sources.

Yes I know i moan a lot but as I love my club I won't the best, but at times people at the club don't seem to want us to succeed.Take our academy we have only just started to push the kids through earlier other clubs have done it for years. It simple if youth team scouts don't produce the right boys you change the scouts it's not a job for the boys it's a job to find the right boys. That's why we need a director of football who works full time to oversee everything concerning playing football it helps absent owners and make people who work in that dept do it to the best of their ability. If we want to stay in the premier league we have to be professional but if we don't make the right decision we could fall through the trap door.
