Title: Arsenal away
Post by: FFC007 on April 27, 2026, 04:26:45 PM
Not really expecting much this Saturday... a point would be a bonus but I think Arsenal might be up for this now given Man Cheaty have reeled them in.

Arsenal v Fulham

Referee: Gillett, Jarred
Assistant Referee: Long, Simon
Assistant Referee: Meredith, Steven
Fourth Official: Jones, Robert
Video Assistant Referee: Bankes, Peter

I'm quite the opposite, we've got a great chance, they are in Spain Wednesday night, won't get home until the early hours of Thursday morning, that gives them just one day on Friday to prepare for us, we've had a whole week to prepare and they've got the second leg on Tuesday to think about, it really is the perfect time to play them, all the pressure is on them, none on us,

Has anyone received their tickets yet?

We cost them the title last year (or was it the year before)

Lets hope we can do it again

They can win the title as far as I'm concerned as long as they don't win on Saturday  ::scarf::

Year before I think, they lost to us and West ham back to back, in fact, I think they have West Ham after us this time too!

Current odds:-

Arsenal 9/20
Draw 18/5
Fulham 33/5

Bookies don't fancy us.... weirdly I do

I'm greatly looking forward to this. Me and my mate who has been coming to the Cottage with me for a couple of seasons (and now says 'we' when referring to Fulham) are going with another of our mates who is an Arsenal ST holder. He is promising to return the favour after I took him to the Bricklayers before a game a few years ago. So we're travelling up early for prematch beers and food. I wont
be wearing a Fulham shirt, though will be subtly showing my allegiance.

I expected to lose last Saturday,  so am hoping I'm suitably surprised this Saturday.  I would love ESR to score - he has a point to prove.

And I'll be trying to start a chant:
"Henry Norris,
You were a w*nker
You were a w*nker".

Brentford getting beaten is a huge incentive for us, but Saturday also one hell of a big ask.

We're bang in it.

They could obviously beat us convincingly as well, but it might not be a bad thing for us that we play them while they are battling for the title. There should be under more pressure than us. Our biggest game of the season will probably be the Bournemouth match, while Arsenal will probably need to win all their matches and hope Man City slip up somewhere.  As others have said, it's also sandwiched between two Atletico Madrid games, which are also huge games for them, so this is as good of a time to play as ever.

Again, they could beat us convincingly too, if they have a very good performance and we are poor on the day, but I'm quite optimistic. Hopefully Sess is fit, if he is I'd start the same 11 as we did against Villa.

I fancy us to get something. The longer we keep them from scoring or even to a single goal lead the more nervy they will get.

If we can beat Arsenal this weekend we go into the Bournemouth game knowing a win all but guarantees us Europe, with two decent fixtures remaining.

I would hate to hand the title to Manchester Cheaty
Very mixed emotions while we look for our first win there since 1966
I don't know who I loathe more, Cheaty or Chelsea

Am I paranoid for feeling apprehensive regarding Bassey, Iwobi and ESR starting? Can you imagine Iwobi or ESR 1v1 with Raya in the 90th minute to seal the three points?

Indeed, we cost them the title 23/24 when they managed just a point against us. Wish I could have seen David Dein's face. We have become their bogey team!

I'm in the camp they feels we can get something out of this game.  I mentioned in another thread earlier that I hope MS and his staff are paying attention to what Arsenal is doing on corners.  All season long FFC defense of corners has been dodgy at best, if not downright awful.  I watched the Arsenal-Newcastle game, and looked like Arsenal was doing something different on some of their corners, a set play, that frees up Eze on edge of box for a shot.  And they did score a goal on such a play.  Our corner defense had better be ready and prepared for what Arsenal might do on corners.  Just sayin'....

Additionally, if memory serves, two seasons ago we prevented Arsenal from winning the League.  Took four points off them, and they fell two points short of the league winner.  Loved it!  Maybe a repeat this season??!!!??   ::scarf::  :claping20hands:

Man city haven't reeled them in, if anything Arsenal have been bottling it and simply not sustaining their lead at the top, which has allowed Man City back in to the running.

I think no fulham fan should expect anything from the game, but there is a chance they're there for the taking..

There is always one! - Gotta stay positive, I would take a draw at Arsenal and then 3 wins from Newcastle and Bournmouth and home plus Wolves away. Thats Europe in the bag and time to pack my case and grab the passport.

I look forward to them scoring a jammy corner goal where they mug Leno and we're left wondering how we had the same thing disallowed against Villa.

I do actually back us to get a result here; I don't think I'd set up with the aggressive press that we used against Villa, I think Arsenal have struggled in recent weeks when teams have sat back and given them the initiative because they get confused and knock it round the back. Get to half time at 0-0 and they'll be anxious through the second half when we can unleash Bobb/Chucky on them to try and sneak a 1-0 win.

I think Leno needs to take the form from the Villa game into this one, he made himself more known at corners and came for the ball.

Not a great venue for us obviously wins wise, but there have been a number of exciting draws.
Being sandwiched in between their Champions League games however is a huge positive.
If we can replicate the 90+ minutes of physical press and harassment we showed against Villa we are in with a chance.
Do our usual and gift them an early goal - different story!

Email with digital ticket has arrived & downloaded without issues onto my phone's  Apple Wallet

Been reading a lot of pregame stuff online - - and it's all about Arsenal.  FFC just happens to be playing them today.  But all about Arsenal, their injuries, their starting XI, the 'pressure' they are under to get the three points to keep title hopes alive.  I really hope we can get something out of this game.  Apparently all this so-called pressure they're under for three points can play to our advantage and we come out with a performance.  COYW!!!!!

I've now returned to my away game retirement after that, what an ordeal, we stank the place out. Seeing the team sheet we knew our card was marked.

The travelling FFC fans were great, I don't know how they continue turning up at our Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City no shows, real commitment.
