Burnley head coach Scott Parker has left the club by mutual consent, eight days after their relegation from the Premier League.
Parker's side were beaten 1-0 by Manchester City on 22 April to drop into the Championship for the second time in three years.
They have won just four of their 34 league games this season and have taken only one point from their past eight matches.
Parker's assistant Mike Jackson will take charge of the side for the last four games of the season, starting with Friday's trip to Leeds United.
By mutual consent
Wonder where he will end up next?
Tottenham
I think he is an option should you want promotion but not if you want to stayin the premier league.A better option is Marco Silver. In fact there are plenty of better options
He would have been ideal to bring them back up again, other Championship clubs will be watching
Lol - he's found his ceiling - he's too stuck in his own mindset and too one dimensional to succeed at PL level. He's a great manager for getting well resourced clubs into the PL from the Champ (but even then underperforming to a degree)... but he's probably at best a mid championship manager once all is said and done and the dust settles.
I was surprised they held onto him so long, but then thought they must have been keeping him to bring them up again next season.
To let him go now seems a bit odd, unless he has somewhere else lined up.

I think Burnley want space between him going and whoever they bring in. Some players may want to move on or be moved on. Preseason will be a rebuilding exercise. Confidence, tactics, new players? and the Championship starts a little sooner as well
Get him in at Chelsea
His CV won't be attractive to any PL team but he seems to have a plan for getting out of the Championship.
No chance of him going to a PL club, particularly a big club like Chelsea. If Spurs go down, they'd be hard pushed to find a better candidate to manage them in the Championship. Parker knows the club, and he knows what it takes to gain automatic promotion back to the PL.
Parkerball works in the championship.... It's well documented.
I think he could end up at somewhere like West Ham if they go down.. then we will take Nuno if Silva leaves.
QPR please.
The dole office.
I can see him at Leicester City next season.
He might be going into politics,
Dont be stupid, be a Smarty,
Come and join the Parker Party.
He could work for C & A or M & S as a cloth horse.
Have to say....what a poor decision. Proven to take him up but maybe the mutual bit is, he wanted something in writing that if he gets them up, he gets another shot at staying up.
No time for the guy but from a footballing perspective.....the guys got the CV to bounce teams back up.
Having watched them a few weeks ago I'm sceptical any manager could have kept that group of players up. That said, he didn't get them particularly close to survival.
Sensible for the next month to be spent with his family rather than at Turf Moor.

I can't see Spurs fans being too happy with Parkerball.
I think he's been very lucky to land 3 jobs (FFC, B'mouth & Burnley) all with a squads capable of promotion from the championship.
He nearly screwed it up with us and probably learnt from the experience but I have friends who support both the other teams who were unimpressed even in the Championship.
IMO he's probably an OK bloke but he lacks real football intelligence at PL level, reminds me of the Cowley brothers.
Mr Cardigan is probably off to Bristol City next to replace Hodgson who has kept them to mid table, the Clubs like Hull, Derby and Norwich all signed Head Coaches in 2025
The timing surprises me as Burnley are now confirmed as relegated so why not keep Parker until the end of the season but then I suppose if both parties were happy to part ways now then why not. He is clearly not fit for management at PL level. Okay he has got three teams up from the Championship but only one by automatic promotion, Burnley, and we all knew that he would have to adapt his preferred style once that had been achieved as that many clean sheets are hard to achieve in the Prem. Maybe he just wants some time to relax whilst Burnley wish to explore their options but I think Parker is too opinionated and to overly confident in his own abilities to reflect at the same time. Perhaps Spurs have made an approach to sound him out about taking over if they get relegated? It will be interesting to see where he will turn up next, as he undoubtedly will...I'm just glad it most definitely won't be with us.

Won't be surprised if/when Spurs get relegated they try to bring in Pellegrino Matarazzo from Real Sociedad

So, Spuds then!

I wonder why that is? Maybe because PL teams are better at pressing high up?
He knows the secret to success in the Championship is always to only agree to manage a club that has more money and better players than all but a couple of others in the division. That is likely to bring success, but it doesn't make you a special manager. We were promoted in 2020 only through the playoffs but had a team easily strong enough for automatic promotion.
Burnley won 3 of their first 9 games this season and have won only once since beating Leeds on 18 October plus they've been knocked out of both cups by League One opposition. Surprised he lasted so long, really.
I must admit I thought that as they stuck with him during the whole dismal season then they would stick with him next season to bring them back up
Unless ... he has another job lined up (again)

Nailed on for the Chelsea Job. :Khan_you_fix_it:

agree and quite surprised as I think he would have returned them back to the PL next season.

It's an impossible task there, regardless who manages them.
He'll go to a championship side..

Yes, most likely Bristol City now that Roy kept them safe and they need a new Manager
