There should have been a **Cringe Alert** on thread title. Exhibit A on why we don't sing or chant...

Oh lordy! No wonder it's commonly recognised that the best musicians in the world are British! :dft011:
A word to the Yanks - the reason we say Drogba (though that could change to Torres next season if that piece of shite Drogba leaves that club) is because they're our rivals. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm not sure the Ivory Coast and USA (USA USA USA) are exactly rivals.
Surely a Mexican striker would work better? Or a Canadian? Suppose at a push you could use Forlan (do USA play Uruguay on at least a semi-regular basis?)...
Crrrriiiiinnnnnggggeeee...... :red:
I do hope they all have day jobs!! :dft001: :012:
lol, thats probably half of the offal right there
I have now listened to both versions and have no idea what the tune is. Is it supposed to be set to something?
Originally it's to the tune of "Sloop John B" by the Beach Boys. Comes across much better with several hundred drunkards bellowing from a frozen terrace
it must be cold in that pub...

No kidding!!!!..... those are some bundled up lads. Hilarious.
I have to admit after listening to the chants on the link they all sound pretty bad. But that's not the point....they are just having fun and cheering on the boys!!!

In that case why are you trying to mug them off? Ok it's terrible, but at least they are having a go. Great idea, we're a small club desparate for fans, we are now getting them from all over the World, and a bunch of Yanks have a go (badly) at having a sing song, and you slag them off, they get pissed off lose interest and we lose supporters (no big deal ?) but then you think football is growing over there, them few Fulham could convert a lot more fans, Fulham sell a few more shirts, the odd ticket if they fly over, but no, you go ahead and slag them off.

Apart from the bit, I have to agree with Mr Freddy.
There was a time we played such wonderful teams the likes of Torquay away which was a very good day out in Devon except for football, but there sure as hell were no fans from all four corners of the planet earth there. Fulham FC has come a long way and we have now fans all over the place. We should be very proud of that. Here in New York I don't even get that surprised anymore to see a Fulham fan or some Fulham paraphernalia. Ask me 15 years ago if I would ever believe that, and I say you would be mad.
However, I do think the rendition leaves a lot to be desired and they need to take lessons from Mr HatterDon. Which is why I only gave it a yellow, not a red. Practice makes perfect, and a trip to the Cottage would help for those lads.

Ok i'll grant you it was a crap rendition, but surely the fact that we can muster that many Septics in one pub in America is unbelievable. Fat Freddy hands across the ocean and all that.

It is making me cringe to watch it! But to be fair at least their having a go. Nice to see we have a decent lot up in the US of A giving it beans. :clap_hands:
I'm with FatFreddysCat and Manxman on this one.
There are lots of embarrassing things at Craven Cottage - all our songs about Chelsea and the proportion of them that are sung not the least of it - but you have to encourage people not hammer them for their efforts.
I'm pleased we have fans abroad who want to feel that involved and have camaraderie with fellow Fulham fans. There is other footage that is equivalent in strength to this and stronger but there has to come a point when we stop hammering the yanks, stop seeing them as yanks and just see them as Fulham fans.

You wouldnt last two seconds there....http://cc.fulhamfc.com/forum/topics/foffat-freddys-cat (http://cc.fulhamfc.com/forum/topics/foffat-freddys-cat)
Ah, so you're that 12 year old muppet without any background knowledge. Thanks for the confirmation, WUM. Move on and leave us alone.
Shocking.age discrimination.fof has no class.and I'll think you'll find that I was called a rude thing in an unprovoked attack slighly earlier? So give me a break, I only responded when I was insulted violently and unfairly
This is no age discrimination, I only wanted to confirm that you are seemingly too young to understand the rymthm of life and the rythm of FoF and you might be a bit too mindless.
I didn't want to offend you. :048:
I only wanted to make sure that you calm down, learn (and leave us alone!). The part about your knowledge and understanding and your bad conduct at Cottage Corner remains though. If you want to continue with this misbehaviour then you should leave this messageboard. If you want to change that, feel free to stay here.
Addition: If you only came to this messageboard to offend long-serving members you indeed should bugger off!
cool it down lads or i'll close the thread, then where will we cringe.
Both me and Zzamora have had a word in our shell likes, i will now no longer reply to any of his posts.
FLY US TO THE COTTAGE!!! TEACH US HOW TO SING!!!
Hello FoF!
As a leader of the Blackout Brigade, I'm responsible for the video you've all been discussing.
Quick background to put some rumors/speculation to rest.
I am a Fulham Supporter. I've been to the Cottage. I saw Brian McBride score a cracking header to beat Tim Howard and Everton 1-0. Keller, Bocanegra, Eddie Johnson, and Dempsey all played in the match. Probably the most Americans ever in 1 EPL match.
We did this chant to warm ourselves up to do our version of The Hardchorus (which I've posted below)... We tried to do it riiiiiiiiiight, but getting 20 drunk dudes to listen to a song and learn it in 10 minutes @ 8 AM proved to be more difficult than anticipated.
Above all, we had fun. We converted a number of our "average joe" friends into part time football fans... Some of them are already gearing up to watch Fulham v. Man City on Sunday...
Also, we plan to do this a few more times and our numbers are growing... so prepare yourselves for CRINGEFEST 2.0!!!
Listen to our hard chorus. Use your superior intelligence to calculate that we are singing to you. We don't want it to be 1-0 to the Citizens on Sunday. We want it to be 3-0 to the Cottagers. One with the left, one with the right, and one with Dempsey's head!!!
P.S.
BY ALL MEANS, FLY US TO THE COTTAGE!!! TEACH US HOW TO SING!!!
Off The Beaten Pitch - One-Nil on Sunday (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tUiFiI-XvmY#ws)
:)
we'll chat more later.
Damn Yanks...got to love 'em!

hahahahaha that is so wrong is so many ways it's brilliant :clap_hands:
you keep going and keep backing the Fulham,it's mustn't be easy trying to follow one of the "smaller" premiership teams like us on your side of the pond,so keep coming back on here,we have more than a few of your fellow Yanks on here who really know what they are talking about football wise so keep popping in,you won't be on your own :clap_hands:
PS have a word with the Fiorentina fan,he's have way to much fun singing that song :dft012: :dft012:

Thanks RSD ... I think I will enjoy the chatter here. I even enjoyed having our video called Ghastly and Terrible! :D It's actually easy to support a club like Fulham for me. I also find it very easy to HATE Chelsea (yes, we know why you say Drogba in the chant)!!
The Fiorentina fan is our buddy Pablo. He sort of looks like Mesut Ozil and his dancing has been highly criticized, but we think it's hilarious! It's meant to be comedy!
Watching the match now before I've gotta head to work. COYW!!!
Mr Krutch,
Good stuff. Had me in stitches.
You are a fine Fulham fan. :54: :clap_hands:

Welcome aboard Krutch - good to have you on FoF.
You only have to come to Craven Cottage to discover that most of our supporters can't sing for shee-ite. :dft012:
I love a bit of enthusiasm but Brits are famously allergic to anything upbeat or a bit keen!
Its much easier for us to laugh at the efforts of others than ever try and do anything ourselves -

:tom: I think they are trying too hard... or let's just hope and assume they were just c0cked off their ass... everything sounds like a good idea after a half dozen of these  ... oi, boys lets make a Clint Dempsey chant and post it on the internet for everyone to see... what ever happened to waking up next to a mistake, at least it was just you and her and you could cringe silently in the comfort of your own home while you sit, cry and rock in the shower. Classic. Good find Freddy.

Khyber pass is Cockney rhyming slang for arse.
