OK, a couple of observations.
Looks like cutting and pasting from Excel loses some formatting information. The data gets there, but columns are not aligned and cell colours disappears. This was straight fwd on the old site. Not a big deal, but I'm not sure if I can be arsed to "pretty" it up every week.
Now for images there is an issue if using sites like flickr (which I do). You have to click on the "link" button and copy the URL to the picture instead of the image button. If you use the image part, the red cross sign shows up because the site does not think it is actually an image due to the way flickr works it seems.
How's this Finn?

Finn,
Have you tried using the INSERT Image, and Hyperlinks buttons in the post editor?
Also, there is a TABLE tool right next to the Insert Hypelink button you could use to create the table and then paste in the results. Not sure how it works but it might help.
You could also save the tables as images and past them using the Insert Image button.

Jack,
That's exactly what I used, the image option doesn't like the flickr format as that is just a URL to the image and not a physical image. So at the moment I'll just post the links to the charts and you just click on them rather than the images as you did on the old site. Works fine and no difference really.
I haven't played with the tables yet though, but I'll figure out a simple way there as well.
Finn,
On the images from the Flickr site, here is what I did.
1) Started a post, and then clicked on the 'Insert Image' button
2) I put the cursor in between the two image thing's 'img' 'img'
3) I went to the flickr URL where your pictures are
4) I highlighted the 'Initial Weights' text, all the way down to the bottom of the table
5) I then right clicked on my mouse and selected 'Copy Image'
6) Came back to the post made sure my cursor was still between 'img' 'img'
7) the did a 'Control V' to paste.....and voila! It was there.
I like this image better though
