Well I don't like change. When people say they like that new car smell, I cringe. I like the smelly old Picayune smell. Old socks, pants that have been worn for a week without a change and a that lingering smell of old fast food wrappers. Mmmmmmm.
I imagine young Smalling feels the same. Just as Arsenal come up to him at play time with a bag full of sweeties, another old bloke in a plastic mac comes up to him and offers him some crisps. Man Utd are that plastic mac. So if you are going to be drooled over by a couple of dirty old men. I guess they may as well be men with some dosh.
On the other hand I don't like new shiny things. Mr Smalling stick with what you know. Better to be a big fish in a pond than a tiddler in a lake.
