My goodness! Lions fans are estatic! WOOOO! 48-3 today, it is the dawn of a new era.
wow. I have always liked the Lions. Not sure why. Probably something to do with Thanksgiving but that is a very impressive win. Chiefs have given up 89 points in two games but a 2-0 start for the Lions is something we haven't seen in a long time.

It was a beautiful day for us lions fans who went through the 4-40 streak. Too bad we couldnt have found a winner against Citeh...
The Lions have been my American football team of choice since I started following it in the early 80's.for no other reason than I had been to Detroit where my grandfather lived when I had been 4.(in 1970)plenty of other teams I could have followed but being a fulham I went for the easy choice ;-)
Never had the chance to see the live but maybe one day.
So yes a good start for once.
Very happy to see we have a few Lions fans outside of us native Detroiters. There is something very Fulhamish about supporting the Lions. Lets hope this early season success continues 098.gif
There has always been something very likeable about the Lions.
But after Barry Sanders walked away I kind of was put off a bit. Looks like they are finally are getting back on track and I am very please to see that. :clap_hands:
Very fulhamish indeed sir james of big rapids.

Three on the bounce now, might have to dig out the cap I have.
Unless you root for one of their division rivals, it's downright un-American not to be happy for that city and its' fans.
I learnt today that 75% of teams that start 3-0 make the play offs.

He got fed up with the poor management of the squad and the culture of losing the surrounded the club and retired 3-4 years too soon. He married a local news anchor and now his son is now a top high school football prospect.

At the time all the "smart people" said that it was just a ploy to get a new contract, or to get traded to a contending club. The "smart people" couldn't believe that anybody would walk away from a big bucks contract like that. Barry was real, though, and didn't come back.
Last pointy football talk from me for a LOOOOONG time.

Watching live on sky and 0-7 down 1st Q.
After missing on the 4th down touchdown attempt...really needed to hold them to 3 and out.
Interesting 1st qtr. Don't think the Lions have shown their best yet...wondering if the Cowboys can continue to hit on all cylinders.
If this game is like any of the past 12 for the Cowboys, it'll come down to the last play - carrying another pair of drawers with me...

(had a bit of a bit on Fulham and the Detroit teams as well today)
Might not be the best strategy to keep getting behind 20+ pts, but they are learning how to win, have got serious talent, and they hired the right coach.
I also at the moment have the added fun of watching my Baseball team (New York Yankees...I know glory hunter) drawing with the Detriot Tigers 2-2 at the moment in the ALDS games.

Fair play to Detroit. Congrats.
My Yankees did not get the job done. Oh well, that 28th world series title is a bit of a bitch to get... And yes, that is very much my local team so no plastic fan/prawn sandwich responses please. 093.gif
Good to be a Detroit sports fan atm, and they'll have Verlander ready to go for Game 1.

Cutler is scrambling and pulling plays out of his arse, he's been very lucky the Lions haven't snapped him in half yet.

I just don't "hate" the Blackhawks. Carolina Hurricanes are my first chioce. Red Wings are legend!
I do hate Chicago teams though. The ESPN Bartman piece just reminded me of how much I hate them. They are all losers and drunks.

Chicago fans are some of the most obnoxious and arrogant I have ever met, but actually I don't mind Hawks fans who have been there through thick and thin, its more the ones who have jumped on the band wagon lately and think they are god's gift to hockey.
No problems hear with the Cane's, hoping Skinner can match his rookie yr, the kid is sick.
Another huge win for my Lions, the offense looked awesome last night.

It was tough weekend. I have some Michigan natives in a club I belong to that have been on cloud nine over the Tigers and Lions.
Niners are rolling again, for some reason I could care less though they are my team. Ever since John York took over the team from Eddie D, I have never been able to muster the passion for the franchise again.
Looking forward to seeing the Lions continue to roll.
With the Packers coming to town for Turkey Day, it seems like a good time to revive this thread.
Don't know what the spread is, but does anyone favor the Lions for an upset on Thursday? The comeback on Sunday was impressive...except it was the Panthers. I haven't seen much of the Lions on TV, but if Kevin Smith keeps running for yards and yards and Stafford has a hot hand.... Surely the Packers have better personnel overall, but could Thursday belong to the Lions?

Hey the Lions were the 2nd to last team to beat them in regular season (last year 7-3 @home), plus they are not as good as expected on defense and have played a weaker schedule. If anybody can beat them it's the Lions on Thanksgiving, hopefully w/ me there.

It would be nice if they did Mr James. I'm not a Packer fan nor am I a Packer hater either. But it would be nice if the Lions won, I just do not see it though. I will watch on telly whilst chewing through the bird.
I am becoming so American it is not even funny. Next thing you know I'll be going to watch the Rockettes at the Radio Music Hall followed by pepper spraying those annoying demonstrators that doesn't know what they are protesting against but needs a bath badly...
Suh gets a 2 game suspension for that idiotic stomp against the Packers lineman (shouldn't this thread be changed to the PACK R MASSIVE? :022:). He's the most talented young defensive player in the game, but unless he adjusts his game from being a 'dirty' player (which even Lions fans can't deny) to an aggressive dominant player he is capable of being the Lions won't take the next step.

He is a dirty player and has proven that with his actions over and over again.
We are still massive. 7-5 in detroit is like being 12-0 for the rest of the league.
Lions are a mess right now after a great start.
