Title: Mr. AJ & CCD: Possible good news
Post by: Steve_orino on November 14, 2011, 01:26:53 PM
"Garber mentioned Las Vegas and Detroit as possibilities for future expansion and said that although a Florida group was interested, no potential ownership in Miami has emerged."

I am hoping so, I would love to be able to actively take interest in the MLS. The cool thing about a bid in Detroit is we could possibly have a soccer specific, engineering marvel of a stadium ready for play w/in around 1 year from what I have been told.
These plans were "leaked" about a month and a half ago.

Initially looking at that rendering I couldn't believe the field was on top of other venues...having read the article though, it makes sense now & it would appear to be a neat venue for MLS to have involved in the mix.

I'm so against having another team in New York.  I wish LA didn't have two teams neither.  A 30,000 open-air-venue would be a pretty convincing arguement to MLS.  Good Luck Detroit!
