Title: U.S. v. Japan -- 2015 Women's World Cup Final
Post by: Forever Fulham on July 06, 2015, 12:57:50 AM
4-1 at the half.  We're watching an old fashioned beat down.  Is there ANY aspect of the game in which the U.S. isn't outplaying Japan?

possession.  Japan has too much of it.  We need to keep up a fast pace pressured game.  Don't let Japan sit back and possess the ball, find their openings and score.

Now 5-2 in the 75th minute.  U.S. to bring on Abby Wambach any minute now.

Done.   This game was never in doubt.  Even Christy Rampone, all 39 years of her, went in at 85th.  18 years on the national team.  Remarkable!

Yea it was a great day.  A little luck never hurts. Credit to the Japanese, they'l kept battling, at least until the 5th goal. As to possession, an lot of it was in their half, just passing it back and forth. I'd like to see the first 20 minutes possession times. The girls were great. Also, a fond farewell to Abby, Shannon Box and Christy. Three great pros.
