Group D is a difficult choice for the second one. Not the best / favourite but the least worst :005:
There is a standout in terms of favourite in every group and I'd be amazed if they don't get top votes. It's having to vote for a second that will be interesting.
Done. You must be busy DB!

Put it this way, the quiz leaderboard is going out the window. You keep your own answers and I will post the results for you to check yourself just for fun.
This is pretty straight forward with little to set up. The time gets taken up when I have to count scores etc
Plus I rarely moderate so I've gotta look busy otherwise the team will start to talk
There's some worrying votes at the moment. Some groups all 4 still have a very good chance of going through. We could have a couple of Iceland's on our hands lol
104 votes so far. Get involved ladies & gents!

162 votes now. One group there is just 1 vote between 3 players! 92, 92 and 91 are their votes.
Amore us easily the best
Lots of votes but I don't see explanations as to why certain players should get through to the next round.
Post your reasons 067.gif for why you voted :023:
I refuse to vote... my favourite defender is in the Stearman group.
Only 4.5 hours left to vote. Group C is very tight, only 4 votes between 2nd and 3rd.

I missed that but if anyone other than Hangeland wins there will have to be a full enquiry.

Chris Coleman bled for the club too at the back, Goma was a rock early in the prem as well
Too many of my favourite defenders have been knocked out already. Nobody said they had to be the best...
As one of them (Danny Cuilip) went out to Chris Baird since when was Chris a centre back. 3 foot nothing and played as a holding midfielder or a slow ponderous full back... 086.gif
When do we vote for the next round? Heaven only knows how I chose between Morgs and Mark Blake. There was someone who knew how to take a penalty

You can now vote for your favourites from the last 16.
Gotta say, surprised at Melvillio and a quick word for Terry Angus. The whole time it was neck and neck, so unlucky to miss out. Still a cult hero in my eyes although I did love Christanval when he wasn't injured lol

Kalas v Goma was the only one that gave me pause for thought then I remembered how immense Goma was.
If I've got this correct the quarter final will be the Thames barrier!

104 votes so far. 54v50 is the current scores in the Kit/Boca and Goma/Kalas ties. Going to the wire it looks like.

Get voting guys. Looks like the Thames Barrier will finally be breached!
How unlucky is Kit Symons by the way? Can't help but feel his Stint as manager went against him. 12 goals in a promotion season? What a Fulham great! Bocanegra was bang average but I did say favourite and not best so maybe there's a twist or two yet to come.
Quarter Final time guys. 'Let's be avin you' as Delia would say!
That first semi-final is shaping up to be a tasty one! (if it goes as expected) - that should be the final in my opinion.
Boca may have been a bang average player, but he was a character (that's how i remember it anyway!) and i think you are absolutely right about Symons being affected by the stint as manager.
Done - as you say Danny, favourite not necessarily best, so Goma, Baird, Hangeland and Morgan. Tough call!

He's gotta be favourite now although I'm tempted to put a little wager on Captain Morgs!

Boca was a character, yes. But look at what Bairdinho did for us under Hodgson including in the Europa Cup campaign. Mr Reliable personified.

150-0! poor Christanval, so much class but outgunned there by a thoroughbred(e). See what I did there?

Boca scored a few goals himself so not doubting the selection. I can see why people liked him, it's just Kit is a Fulham man. As we agree the manager role gives a short memory. Not because of this game, just in general I think it's ruined how fans remember him which is a shame.
My final would be Goma v Brede with Morgs and Cookie battling the 3rd place playoff. But had you asked me best instead of favourite then it's a 2 horse race between Cookie and Brede with Brede edging it

For me Christanval is another Diarra. Oozed class but was always in and out with injuries. He would suffer similar up against Murphy I reckon.
By the way I was a big fan of Christanval
Next topic could well be managers. I'll try and do one every other month.
Managers, keepers, best match and goal will be a Euros and 16 instead of 32.

Tough call now yes but I just cannot go with Mr Baird Utility man when this is favourite centre backs. Chris was great as a sub or as cover but others were proper centre halves
It's favourite not best so I'll be surprised if SM doesn't take it.
Great idea Danny!

Morgs versus Coleman for me.
I couldn't decide between those two.
If there's a draw then both will go through and we will have a 3 way. Now that sounded a lot more professional in my head lol

Errm then the scores will be level so a coin toss. But don't use a new pound coin which might stand on its side!
Where is Sascha Riether? He was blinding in his first season, one of the top right backs in the league. Can't believe Zat Knight is there and Riether isn't. Knight was awful.

Sorry for the confusion but this is centre backs. Riether was as much a centre back as Dan Burn was a right back. Sascha will be involved in the voting process for his actual position possibly next month or the month after.

Cookie v Captain Morgan is a real toughie for "favourite" player. Cookie streets ahead as a player but Morgs such a great servant to the club - also did the best programme notes, basically ripping the rest of the team! Difficult.
easy for me this one, cookie and hangeland
Easy for me: Morgan and Baird.

I agree. Coleman was probably the classiest central defender I've seen, certainly in a Fulham shirt (he was more athletic than Moore) and Hangeland was the heart of the defence for years. That said, I liked Morgan's up and at 'em attitude and Baird coming good and winning the fans over.

Very good points for all 4, and those are the reasons I voted for Coleman and Hangers. They were also the 2 that i htought would make the final.
A good four to make the semis, only other 2 i can htink of that maybe had a chance were hughes and goma, but I cant argue with whio made the top 4 or who makes the final 2

I am VERY surprised at the margin of victory. Impossible to do but it would have been interesting to see the age range of those voting plotted against the player they voted for. But a fun survey dannyboi - thanks.

Cheers. Impossible to do the age range unless you subscribe to a survey company and have access to a wider range of stuff. Not really necessary or worth it for our bit of fun. It's actually proving a good system for us considering it's free.
The whole reason I started at 95 was because I felt it was more accurate and realistic. To be fair Hangleand was loved and a worthy winner. I would have hated someone like Roger Brown to lose out to Ream because of an age thing.
Very difficult to please such a wide age range lol. Glad you enjoyed it

I suspect most people did the same thing. Not much in it but it had to be Hangeland. Of the two I think Brede was more loveable cos of the way he embraced the Fulham way anyway. Coleman had other clubs but Brede makes it clear he was ours
