They hit our crossbar, and we get a penalty in action packed extra minutes....wow, some finish!
Brilliant.

we just sh*thoused Tony Pulis and it feels glorious. Not even bothered if we were crap, we just took 3 points off a vile man and went 1 off the playoffs. Winning ugly is oddly satisfying.
Wonderful
I know many of you think I'm a grump but I am delighted.
A bit of luck both ends but about time too!
Cheers!!

Wonderful.
Why lucky? The home team did not have a shot on target in the whole game, and even off target we had more than them.
Just look at the official stats.

But they did have a blatant penalty turned down, and Im sure the ref bring a Sunderland fan had nothing to do with it as the Middlesborough fans think
We were lifted up to 8th spot about the same time last year.

We were dreadful for much of the match. Was it a penalty? Do we care? Not conceding and scoring from the spot. Well sometimes you just have to go with it. Three massive points.
It was a correct penalty decision. Just seen it

Rui held the ball up better than did Kamara and defended well from the front. In my book, that was one of his better appearances. So, yes, he did play an important part.

and a clean sheet!!
Great day!!
I am not convinced it was a penalty having watched the replay back over and over I think Oliver Norwood takes a dive. I just cannot see the contact at all. However, I ain't complaining 1-0 and he is a Brighton player anyway if he did dive LOL.

Absolutely fantastic!
Superb result (which is what counts in the end).
I saw nothing of the first half, but have seen it reported that we were rubbish. So be it.
But I got a good stream for most of the second half and thought we played some sumptuous football. We got a bit of luck here and there admittedly but to my mind fully deserved what we got - which doesn't always happen.
Lovely result. First win at Middlesbrough since 1985, I believe. Oh, and wonderful to put one over Pulis.

Dreadful? Too strong a word? We dominated possession, defended fairly well, had two more shots on target than did Boro and were the stronger team in the final fifteen (an important measure in my book - especially for an away team).
Also, let's not forget how influential was our early substitution/reorganization.
Yes, we did have a lot of luck, but that is the game of swings and roundabouts across the whole season.

The win was deserved. Ok, they had two great chances, but we held possession well in the second and got behind them several times. But the main reason we won was because we were trying to score, even in the last minute, away from home. We didn't fall back, try and cling on for a point. We went for it and in the last minute, instead of trying to repel wave of attacks, we were up in their box, with plenty of numbers, trying to win it, brilliant.

I also watched it over and over on hi-def/large screen. Defender's toe did touch Norwood's toe who was travelling at pace. Impossible to tell if he took a dive, but the contact seemed to be somewhat light. I don't think many refs would have given a penalty, but it doesn't matter. this ref did.

We were magnificent at a place where we have not scored in the last 4 visits & not won there since 1980.
I refuse to accept any negative comments about us today. Rejoice & celebrate people.
To be honest, I have to think that Pulis decision making in switching Adama Traore from RW to LW was a terrible error. Why he paired up Traore with our fastest player in Fredericks is beyond me. If he had stayed on Odoi's side, it would have been much more threatening.
That was a mark in poor in-game management and not using the momentum that Traore brought to the match towards the home side's advantage. He deserved to lose.
On the other side, Slav coached the match brilliantly. It was great to be able to hear how vocal he was to all our players. Early subs and mid-to-late subs. Ojo was the most ineffective and he used that to bring in Kalas and pop up Sess. That is a great switch in its own right because he's gotten 2 for the price of 1 as a result.

Thanks for the link. The next best thing was the expression on the face of the Master of the Anti-football. Priceless.
They cannot take that win away from us. A tough match up there at anytime.
The pen was well timed, I could not have written a better script myself.
But at the end of the day, it was maximum points, 1 0 away, including a clean sheet, Three massive points which we desperately needed.

Well nothing negative from me, I salute both the players and the manager. And confidence has to be building with the run we are on, great chance to keep it going next week against Burton.
Watched it many times. The Boro player stopped Norwood´s left standing foot from moving by contacting it. He may have been trying to get out of the way but his leg was still there.

Joka's switch to Kebano made so much difference,

Because fred had picked up a yellow and Pullis was hoping for a second
This morning I would have been pleased if we had come home with a point, can't believe we won. Ok we had the benefit of a couple of tight calls on penalties going our way but we were always in the match. We have won a six pointer in the North East against a good team who we rarely beat.
I am as pleased as punch .

Odoi also had a yellow. Fredericks yellow came after the switch. Imagine if Traore faced up against a slower Odoi, and a yellow-carded Odoi at that. Pulis didn't do his homework.
Must admit to a heart in mouth moment when they said on SKY that there was a late penalty at the Riverside. But, strangely, I was completely confident we'd score it when they said it was to FFC.
Onwards & upwards.
Ab fab, super result,I do some jobs for a boro fan and before the game this week giving it large, looking forward to a beer on him or 5.
Well done team and Slav for playing and defending as 1.

Fantastic result especially against Pulis and his silly cap.Love it.

Same here, funny that, my heart missed a beat. But like you I was a lot more relaxed about Olly taking the spot kick.
I didn't know the result till after midnight, but am blown away by it. Stuck on a plane and couldn't get wi-Fi on arrival nor would roaming pick up, but soooo worth the wait. My 30 hour journey has already become a distant memory.

Exactly, poor first half .But with the changes second half we were looking to win the game .Most teams would have shut up shop second half and played for the point. 2 of Pullis subs were midfielders for forwards. We were on top last 20 mins apart from them hitting the bar.Fantastic ending glad i was there.
I completely forgot that it was Ream's 100th appearance as well. What a massive win and great performance by him. Has to be said, he has been a rock these last couple of months.
Great win. But what has happened to "Who would you have as our next manager?" "Why on earth does Slav play Norwood" and "Crap tactics, we've been sussed out, and why on earth did Slav use those subs?"
Those were some of the comments being made, only a few weeks ago. My, what a difference a good run of results makes.

Slav has reacted quickly in the last few games to change the tactics and personnel that he started with. Something he didn't seem to do earlier in the season. His changes have worked. But I suggest had Boro scored in the fifth minute of injury time from the spot. There would be plenty of moans and groans. Norwood hadn't been great until the pen. In fact nobody had been great. Boro were just not that good either.
