In the 2015-2016 season, Leicester became the cheapest team to have won a Premier League title, since 1995.
Let's see if we can emulate that for fun here.
Input welcomed as I am not an expert and will edit this post accordingly.
A few key players with "interesting" stories;
Goalkeeper (Kasper Schmeichel) : have to be the son of a former great goalkeeper and coming from a non-first tier league
Centre Back (Robert Huth) : over 1.9m tall and a big player. Aging but have won more than 1 league title
Centre Back (Wes Morgan) : from the Caribbean or North America, Captain material
Right Back (Danny Simpson) : a product of a top club that have been going on loans for years and in his prime playing age
Central Midfield (Danny Drinkwater) : a product of a top club that have been going on loans for years and in his prime playing age
Defensive Midfield (N'Golo Kante) : short, under 1.7m, fast and with good stamina. From a small club in Europe
Right Wing (Riyad Mahrez) : descendent from a North African country, playing in a second tier European league. Stylish play, flair
Secondary Striker (Shinji Okazaki) : Asian playing in Europe. Fast and hardworking to give defenders the runaround and frustrate them
Forward (Jamie Vardy) : late bloomer, coming from a non-first tier league in England, controversial and great pace
Just remembered I posted this 4 months ago.

- Shoya Nakajima
10 goals, 12 assists last season in Portuguese Primeira Liga. Young, won't be cheap.
- Takashi Inui
5 goals, 2 assists last season in Spanish LaLiga. Late bloomer like Okazaki, cheaper.
