Absolute Record for women's football attendance in Spain

Wednesday's clash between Athletic Club and Atlético de Madrid, corresponding to the semifinals of the Copa de la Reina, has gathered 48,121 spectators at the San Mamés stadium, thus breaking the record of attending a women's football game in Spain.

Unthought of 20 years ago ... is women's football really "arriving" now?!

The US women played before 91,000 in the finals of the World Cup in 1999. The one you cite is for a league. Still, an impressive figure. Woman's football seems a little less ego and money driven to me.
