Title: What Happens Next And When
Post by: filham on June 10, 2019, 01:05:55 PM
The close season is already dragging but there is a lot to happen at Fulham with probably players leaving and replacements coming in.

So what is going to happen first ?

Sess transfer
Mitro transfer
Seri Transfer
Replacement for Sess
Replacement for Mitro
New Centre Back
Replacement for Babel

PLayers report back for pre season in four weeks, I guess nothing will happen for another three weeks or so, possible that the Sess. move needs to be settled then others will follow.

Too many people on here are too impatient. How many transfers have you seen go through so far?

I haven't even given it a Second thought, what will be, will be.
Its probably not worth waiting for, and if it happens to be worth waiting for, then that will be a nice surprise and a bonus.

Don't think they impatient, just that lots don't want to see us panic buy a load of Garbage not wanted by many on the last few days of window.
And as you say not many transfers at others yet,but lets worry about us and not what the rest are
up to.

The last time we got the majority of our business done early we ended up finishing 20th in the Championship with players like Jamie O'Hara and Ben Pringle.

Pre-Season either starts on the 24th of June or the 1st of July, so that's two-three more weeks before everyone's back (bar the AFCON and Gold Cup players) and we need some outgoings before we see any incomings most likely and everything moves slowly in June because everyone's on holiday. Would expect things to pick up towards the end of the month when Spurs will want Sessegnon in for Pre-Season, whoever signs Seri etc.

To answer the original question;
Sessegnon's sold first, then Mitrovic (if he is), then Seri. Got a feeling teams are going to try and haggle loads over Seri because he didn't exactly have a stellar first season, he 100% wants out- and Seri has AFCON as a distraction (same goes for Zambo if he's sold).

Would expect one or two budget signings/loans early on and then when we get some money to play with as a result of the sales we might start going in for say a Cavaleiro.

Would be surprised if we make more than 6 or 7 signings this window- both because of FFP but also because even with likely departures we don't really need that many incomings. So I'm reasonably relaxed about the situation at the moment.

Season starts tomorrow we have one of the two best teams in the league, let's put it that way.

The players we can buy now are those that have given up on playing "Premier League" next season. We can only buy players that the Premier League doesn't want, but we only want players almost good enough for the Premier League. All these players come available 8th August, when Top Six Clubs loan out or sell their weaker players to newly promoted clubs.

If we sell Mitro Fulham may as well plan for several seasons in this lower league as happened last time.  We must keep as many of our best players together to DOMINATE this division and go straight back up!

agree with that, lose sess and seri leave Mitro hasn't made any comments about wanting to leave so if under contract we are already top 6 squad and Scott knows the strengths and weaknesses.

One important thing which no one has said on here is how do we know what is going on behind the scenes? We may be having talks with the complication of players being in Africa the sales chain with clubs needing to sell before they buy plus the interference of agents.or the necessity to haggle with clubs.
Some clubs are better than others with their secrecy of deals and I know that some on here would hesitate to give the club the benefit of any of these things being a possibility. Some deals move slowly and we should know that the window does not rush until the last few days.

If Mitrovoic has four years left on his contract, no reason not to see what he does this season and sell him later. We may get less, but we may get more.

Agree.  I always believe no news is good news when it comes to FFC, and reserve my panic for the moment the Club start to make their dealings public.  Under the Khans it was only in January 2018 that the feeling of panic refused to surface by window closure.  I am hoping SP has a really positive influence on our existing squad, and, almost as importantly, on TK and his recruitment team.

All three likely to go. Hopefully we get £65 to £70 million for them. Seri linked to loan move but we should only let him go on a permanent. I obviously hope they all stay but I feel Sess is 100% leaving.

Sess most likely to go followed by Mitrovic and Babel already gone. That means we need to sign a whole new front three, in fact we need to sign six front players because we are always in with less than a 50% chance of getting good strikers.

It is going to be a busy summer but I am beginning to think we may start with Fonte and Kamara up front with Macdonald, Cairney , Johansen and Anguissa in midfield.

Villa have just signed a £20m striker. Their 3rd signing of the summer already.
Bournemouth signed the Bristol City lad about a month ago.
West Ham have signed a £25m striker today.
Everton signed the Huddersfield GK a couple of weeks ago.
Wolves have made their loanees permanent already.
Man Utd signed James from Swansea yesterday.

Smart clubs are getting business done.

Hold on to Mitro and like the last time, sign good championship players from other championship clubs.. Cairney, McDonald, Norwood etc.
That should ensure top 6 finish.

It's almost like it's harder to get deals done when you're working on tighter budgets and there's less of an attraction for players, either that or two-thirds of the league aren't "smart clubs". Should also point out Charlton and Bristol City's only signings are almost definitely for their youth team.

Relatively to the league we're now in, I'm not sure our budget is tight at all.

Also I'm not asserting that two-thirds of clubs are "smart clubs". 9 out of 10 clubs don't get promoted.
