Sending long balls over the top only works if you have anyone that can outrun their last 4 defenders.   We don't.

Bloody hell Anthony...if Joe is running up the pitch ASSUME he's going to attempt a cross and you should be on the back end of it. RUN!!!!!

Cardiff are used to not having the ball also. Bottom of the league when it comes to possession. They could be another tight game.

I think with 5 subs, taking Ream and Arter off now just makes sense. I don't care if it limits your flexibility later, they clearly aren't here to play. If Mawson can go 70 minutes I'd put him on, and any of our other midfielders would be better than Arter.

So far, the only player dialed in is Harrison Reed...and MAYBE Michael Hector.

I'd say Joe Bryan...but his none attacking passes (with his head or his foot) have not been good passes.    He can cross the ball though.

Arter sums Fulham up. Slow and immobile most of the time, a defensive liability, but sometimes smacks one from outside the box to win games.

First half observations.

1.  In spite of his misses, B. Reid has had a good game.
2.  Josh Onomah looks too big.   At times he even plays heavy.  Do not like. He should be making much faster movements and decision making imo.
3.  Tim Ream... ugh.
4.  Game should be 2-1 Fulham.   Entertaining half, but not well played...if that makes sense.
5.  If Knockhaert can make crosses like that on the left WHY PLAY HIM ON THE RIGHT AND FORCE JOE BRYAN TO PLAY TOO HIGH UP THE LEFT SIDE??????

Disagree on Onomah, he's big and athletic and he's getting about the pitch - the amount of times he's turned the ball over has been v impressive.

Come on Twig.   Those first 23 minutes were some Tim Ream's worst....but it didn't result in Cardiff scoring.

I'm excited for the playoffs, and I'm even excited about next season, but my post here are kinda minute by minute, and in those first 20 minutes Ream was shite.

I try to counterbalance my negativity with praise for Reed, and our positive play the last 20 minutes of the half.

I wouldn't let them go in at half time, keep them out on the pitch doing shuttle runs. Instead I think we give them all a Horlicks and play pan pipes

"developing" is the key word isn't it? When he arrived he was slated and it was yet another thing to bash Parker over the head with. Onamah as he is now, a fit Mawson, a fit Kongolo in January and Hector arriving in August and the story could have so, so different.

Stefjo has to start ahead of Arter next game. Has been doing really well since coming on.

We absolutely outclassed them, should have had at least 4.

Good result, especially after a very sloppy start.  Played our way into the game and managed it well

Another good performance and three points. If Blackburn can turn over West Brom tomorrow, roll on Tuesday.

LOL...Mitro said "F...Off" when he didn't get that cross from Cav.

It's ok Mitro.  We won (should have been 5 goals)

READY for the PLAYOFFS!!!

Super win, 3 points, clean sheet for 3rd game in a row, 4 on the bounce. Good use of subs. Very comfortable. Reed has to be MOTM. He never stops for a minute. He reads the game so well.

Barring the first 20 minutes that was a good performance and a well deserved win. I am happy tonight!

So Cardiffs only plan was throw-ins? Really dislike that team

This is my problem with the Championship. Cardiff are regarded as a form team, likely to make the playoffs. Really? They offered absolutely nothing, were horrible to watch, and yet the commentators acted like they were the team to be praising?

Agree, most industrious player we have and obvious quality for the goal
