Title: NFR - Andy Lonergan
Post by: Marcel_Gecov on August 16, 2019, 11:28:26 AM
Crazy world football. After Allison and Adrian's injuries, Andy Lonergan is in line to start vs Southampton. Was on loan at Rochdale last season and now has a Super Lge trophy and a potential prem start.

Whilst not good enough I was actually a big fan of Lonergan and hope he does well.

It's a strange old game football, isn't it. I wish him well tomorrow but I have a feeling that he's going to be in for a tough time. Liverpool really struggled at times against Norwich and Chelsea at the back.

Seemed a good honest pro when with us.  Was fine with shot stopping (most keepers are, though Liverpool have had some outliers).  Struggled a bit trying to impose himself at corners.  I'd imagine having Virgil Van Dijk cleaning people out might help a bit.  At the time he played with us the centre backs more resembled Dick Van Dyke.
