Title: Next four games
Post by: Fernhurst on November 30, 2019, 09:35:25 PM
The yeah or the nay of top two.

Bristol City
Preston
Brentford
Leeds

Not enough points from these four and we are consigned to the play-offs.

Conversely good points and top two entirely achievable.

Shouldn't fear any of them.

If we get 9 points in our next three games, the total required to reach the playoffs will most likely be 3 points lower, so 12 points better off for reaching playoffs. Then the only way we won't reach the playoffs is ending the season badly in which case we wouldn't win the playoffs anyway.

Winning the next three games means that if we are the best team at the end of the season, we will be in the playoffs or automatically promoted.

BCFC seem to be a bogey team for us over recent years?

Best wait until we play them, because that's the only result and score that will count. It's like forecasting the weather, and taking an umbrella out when the sun shines and leaving at home then it rains, never get it right.

Take 8 points and keeping unbeaten run going right now ...

Have a feeling Brentford are going to continue to rise up this division.

Anyone know when Arta and Reid are back .?

Must beat Leeds, but not sure we will. Think their overall fitness may be too much for us.
Still, it was great to hear Ian Holloway describe us on Quest last night as "awesome" so maybe just maybe a full house of points will see us rise to the very top.

Assuming we finish as well as in 17/18 (a 23 game unbeaten run is almost impossible), we will still only be on-track for 97 points which is what WBA/Leeds are on-track if they continue their form (which is unlikely but very possible). Obviously, if FFC can beat Leeds twice that total lowers to nearer 92 points, a much more reachable target for FFC as a couple of eight game unbeaten runs is far more likely.

One game at a time. Bristol City is a hard game. 7 points from these 4 keeps us solid in the race for play offs. We want top 2 we need to be beating Leeds & trying to get 10 from them 4 really

Just realised we have the exact same four teams one after another back end of Feb and into March too.

That is right a full week at Motspur Park with possibly some of our injuries recovering should put us in good shape to meet an in form Bristol.
No distractions needed full focus has to be n next Saturday.

We need to be focusing on top 2 but 10pts is over ambitious IMO. We certainly don't "need" 10. I'd be very happy with 8. And realistically 2 defeats and 2 draws would be enough to keep us in the top 6.

Very impressed with Leeds and Brentford.
Know they were playing Boro and Luton but
great attacking skills and attacked in numbers .
Will need to be at full stregth for these two.

Bristol City again a few goals  against improving Huddersfield.
Preston i think are unbeaten at home .

Going to be a tough 3 weeks

It's like that run we had a couple of seasons ago when we had to play Villa, Bristol City, Wolves, Derby, Sheff Utd. We then had a little matter of QPR, then back to Norwich and Leeds. We came through that lot unscathed...
