Title: What a surprise......

Messi won the Ballon D'or again.
Will they ever let anyone else win it before he retires?

There were better candidates.

I think he was a deserving winner. Nobody comes close to him in terms of skill, goalscoring ability and general brilliance. I think some people are just ignorant to his genius because he repeats it year on year. Only when he retires will people recognise.

I think they decided he won it before the season started.

Although one of the best footballers of all time I don't think he has had the bet season and I agree there were better candidates this year.

Who are these better candidates? Messi should win it every year on his stats, his goals / assists per game are literally super human.

Just because he's so consistently good every year doesn't mean he shouldn't win it every year. People have got used to his greatness and hold him to a higher standard to win the thing now. In truth he should have 10+ Ballon d'ors, not six. How Modric ever won it is totally beyond me.

He's the second best player in the world and the best player doesn't play in La Liga anymore. So it was only ever going to be Messi.
