Title: Our best back 4?
Post by: MrFFC on January 18, 2020, 07:51:31 AM
Many options with Hector & Kongolo coming in.
Ream has been massively improved next to Hector he deserves his place. As the season progresses I do expect Kongolo to come in to the side

For me I would love to see a back 4 of

Sessegnon Hector Kongolo Bryan

I'm sure many will disagree & Ream & Odoi certainly deserve there places right now but I think Kongolo could force Ream out over time.

Sessegnon could be really good with a leader like Hector guiding him through games I still think he is a big talent.

Kongolo is a top quality player on paper but he joins us off form, possibly unfit, unfamiliar with our players and tactics, on a short-term contract with no option to buy. With that in mind, I can't see him breaking into the starting XI, certainly not in the next few weeks.

For me the ability of thr players is

RB - Odoi > Christie/Sessegnon
LB - Odoi/Bryan
CB - Hector > Kongolo/Mawson > Ream

So best back four combination IMO is

Odoi - Hector - Mawson - Bryan

I long for the day when there is no question mark following the words 'Our best back four' simply because it would suggest, at kindergarten level, that a solution has been found, and we can move on to at least some of the other seven positions.

Odoi is crucial right now as he is so good on the ball. His passes create chances, he moves into midfield, and he can collect Rodak's goal kicks out the air with Berbatov like skill. Plus, he can bang them in as we've seen!

Agree. Odoi is probably our most complete full back in both positions.
