I'm leaving Florida, 30th September and moving back to the mid-Atlantic (not sure yet, it depends on where I can get a job)
For several reasons, Florida has not been the ideal semi-retirement location for me and my wife.

In theory you could get a second hand oil rig, get it renovated into living accomodation and call it 'Cottage of the Sea', get it listed as a 'heritage site'. So is that what your planning to do?

Somewhere in Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, North Carolina, Southern Pennsylvania or Delaware.
It depends on where I can get a job, property prices, Cost of living etc and it has to be 2/3 hours drive
from my wife's huge family in Southern Maryland.
There's plenty of jobs around in my profession, but most of them are full time.

Wilmington or Rahobeth Beach, DE for prices and cost of living/taxes. Southern and SE, MD isn't bad either.

Wilmington is not a bad place to live. Nice town. Decent weather. Housing prices are surprisingly reasonable.
