Loads of moans in the past on this Board about lack of chances Matt had in the first team. But now out of contract, not been picked up by anyone (as far as I know). Maybe SP was right, simply not good enough for first team action ? Or was he persuaded by his agent that he was a lot better than he was and that's screwed his career ?
He's a free agent so my understanding is another club can still sign him after the deadline. He probably expects to be picked up by someone like Barnsley once the dust settles. He left for first team football - hard to criticise that.
I don't understand why you'd leave a club where you're rated when you have nothing else lined up - seems clueless/pointless/stupid.

I'm not sure he left of his own accord. Was he offered a new contract, I can't remember?

I had read that he turned an offer down from us

Well it's easy really. Currently lounging around to see if anyone is interested in his services. Think he may pick up first team football but not at the level he thinks he is worthy of.
I always thought the club refused to deal with his agent
