A respectable 2-0 loss in the end, at a place, where better teams have fallen to a much bigger defeat. Conceded early again, which is a concern, but plenty of positives to take from the game, with Man City failing to break us down in the second half. Based on that, who impressed you the most, and who was your FOF man of the Match?

Aerola.
Areola
Thought Robinsons work rate was AMAZING.
Tosin is good
Anderson grew into the game.
Anguissa was his usual self.
The rest of the squad...meh.

Robinson was free in the Man City half at times when the ball just wasn't passed to him.
Areola without a doubt. Without him today this would have been 4-0, he made fantastic, but all cannot be saved.
First goal came too quick for him and Sterling in 1 on 1 he's not going to miss it.
And the penalty well, I still think the player dove and Andersen never made contact with his foot.

100% a dive, it was a delayed dive, the touch wasn't enough to knock him off his feet. Seen it about 5 times now.
Sterling has created the most penalties in the Prem, 20 in total.
No doubt that Areola was MOM but the lads tried hard according to Parkers directions The tactics were probable as good as we could have done. Of the outfield players I thought both Anderson and Adarabioyo did well.ย I think the criticism of Cavaleiro is a bit unfare as he was obviously playing to the instructions given him and did work hard albeit his overall effectiveness is not wonderful to say the least. Ruben Loftus Cheeck was disappointing and clearly not up to pace. Our most impressive outfield player was Anguissa.
Tosin for me. He was solid.

Yeah he had a really good game. Pep thinking, 'he's a classy defender, we must sign him'.
Cant really see past Areola. Tosin was very good but Areola prevented the scoreline from being a lot worse.

Saw it the same way regarding Areola and the penalty.
Agree about Areola and Tosin, but spare a thought for Anderson, time and time again Anderson had to cover for Aina, a few times when Aina was caught out of position again and again Anderson got him out of jail. Aina is not Premier quality with poor positional sense, but thanks to Anderson and our keeper, Tosin and Robinson we kept them from scoring in the second half. I thought Harrison Reed and Zambo stuck at it and we are becoming more resilient, shame about the first 20 mins and a homer referee.
Several players I thought had a good game.ย Areola though was the top man for me as he really kept things from getting out of control.ย
Easy answer... Areola.

"created", now that's something to be proud of...ย ย
1.Anguissa
2.Andersen
3.Areola
I went for Frank. He was very good in the first half, less so in the second. Both CB's had good matches. To only concede one to Citi is a good match defensively. Areola was excellent but I never vote for a keeper for MOM. His job is to stop shots and fatigue doesn't enter into a keepers game. Besiders, if your best player is your keeper, you were never really in the match.
Best on field player Anguissa yet again
Best performance overall our keeper.
Worst Cav and RLC both totally out of the game and RLC has no understanding at all how to play with our brightest spark Lookman. That's why Cairney should play, he naturally understands how to use him.
Anguissa
Areola

Agree with Woolly - I also thought Andersen was reallyย commanding.
Areola hands down, though Anguissa and Adarabioyo were excellent too. When Areola arrived I was one of those that argued that Rodak shouldn't be dropped and it was indeed harsh on him, but Areola has been a revelation. He could prove the difference between going down and staying up.

Areola's who scored statistics indicate he is the 2nd Best Keeper in the Premier League this season, after his Man City performance it is hard to argue with the statistics.
I too felt that Rodac deserved to keep his place but yet again I am voting for Areola as MOM, he is magnificent in every game.
Also Anguissa put in another outstanding performance.
