What result would you like to see.
Intially thought an Arsenal win would suit us best, however, having examined the league table I now favour a draw. A Burnley win may be disasterous as they would leap over us and still have a game in hand. Arsenal remain within our reach so please let his have a draw.
Surely we want all three teams below us to lose every game ?
Has to be an Arsenal win. Ditto for Leicester in their game against Brighton. Arsenal are woeful in the final third, given the talent that they have up front. Seven shots on goal so far, one on target.
Arsenal won't go down (unfortunately), Burnley might. Arsenal win all day long, but never rely on Arsenal. They are where they are for a reason.
Brighton LOSING!
A draw or a Burnely loss. Probably a draw in fairness. Arsenal are all over the place this season. I had a brief moment where I enjoyed the idea of us being three points behind Arsenal, which is simply an odd statement given their history.
We need three teams to be below us though come the end of the season. West Brom and Sheffield Utd could be two, although that may depend on managerial changes and personnel changes in january as there's still not a huge gap between where they are and where we are in truth, although we have shown signs of life.
I'm looking up the table though and thinking Brighton could be dragged into it and the same with Leeds who after their early season promise have been pretty poor.
Arsenal are garbage. They are getting worse in the League, devoid of ideas.
Leicester 2 up.
Burnley are going to win this one nil aren't they. 89th minute header from their first attack.
What a goal from Maddison.
Brighton are absolutely all at sea.

Some red cards now would be a bonus!
Leicester 3 up.
What result? 6-0 Arsenal will do nicely.

This. 100%.
Ultimately I don't care where we finish, provided we start next season in the Premier League. Whenever Burnley, Brom of Sheff U play, I'm supporting the other side.
As for other teams around us, losses or draws have their benefits. Pleased to see Brighton struggling against a Leicester team that we beat recently.
Would be good to see Arsenal relegated, my nephew has changed teams again, from Man Utd to Arsenal. lol
Our game against Brighton is huge now. Would be great to be ahead of them on Christmas day,

I'd take a 1-0 Arsenal win. Tonnes of possession but they can't hit the target.
It will really help us if Leicester continue on a roll in the second half to get Brighton's goal difference down to the same level as ours.
Burnley are worrying as they'll still have that game in hand going into January so we really want to put a clear minimum 3 points between us by then. Hopefully Arsenal have flown in Van Persie to coach the forwards at half-time. We desperately need them to win
My ex supports Arsenal so I'd normally love to see them go down but I'll take them to win over Burnley.
After watching the first half, I fancy us against both these imposters.
arsenal down to 10 men. with 30 still to go. will be amazed if burnley dont win this, arsenal are terrible
Arsenal down to 10.
Such a shame we played Arsenal at home on the first day of the season.

strangley it might be their best hope of scoring. burnley will hopefully go for it and get done on the break

yep, we would have had a good chance if we played them today
Arsenal are a joke, I hate them. Free win for Burnley surely?
Burnley always look well organised when I've seen them, they definately aren't going down without a fight.
God, what on earth goes through Xhaka's head?!
It's a mystery to me how he keeps his spot in that team - he's been this way for years!
bottom 3 for us. burnley 1 up
who knows, maybe Arsenal will go down after all? :)

He has been a disgrace for years. Hated by his own fans, I have no idea how he still plays for them. He should get an extended ban for what he did, absolute moron.
Not worried about Burnley if we keep improving, we will drag Brighton, Leeds and maybe even Arsenal into our relegation battle.
Guys, the commentator said 'Pope was flying through the air', clearly divine intervention.
Arsenal really are becoming a joke.
I guarantee Arsenal won't be this poo when we play them away

Sometimes football picks you up just to throw you back down. Immaculate performance against the champions, get robbed by the ref to leave with 1 point. Then your rivals play and their opponent hands them a victory on a silver platter, no effort or skill required.
Still in our hands at least but f you Arsenal.
The Arsenal players don't look bothered?
Arsenal were so poor. Burnley are a well organised, physical side but have little quality. Shame we are now in the bottom 3 but big games coming up and we need to be picking up wins in the next few games to make up ground on the pack above. We can do it! COYW
Disgraceful Arsenal. I wish we played them now rather than on the opening day. They're garbage.

We must beat Brighton.

Most of us fully expected to be sitting on 4 points this evening. So, to have 8 points is fantastic. Fair play to Burnley, battling, well organised and deserved to turn over a terrible Arsenal . But I can't wait to play them, we are miles better and getting better with every game.
Well who would everyone prefer as FFC manager? Arteta or Parker. My vote is Parker
Burnley has a game in hand too.

Absolutely this.
If we can beat Brighton then it drags Arsenal into it. :005:
Big games now coming up, Brighton (3 points) Newcastle (can beat them 3 points)and we we must beat Burnley away in Jan. Spurs and Southampton in between need at least 1 point from those 2.

With a championship back line...none of which are currently starting.

Arsenal won't get regulated come on guys. It's between us, Burnley and Brighton

Well I'm still sticking with 15th but I love your optimism.
Today's results makes our match against Brighton a must win six pointer. we have put n a good performance today but now we need to pick up 3 points.
Arsenal look less likely to score goals than we do and good soon join us in the bottom three. Perhaps we could sell Seri to them in January.

Exactly and a perfect opportunity on Weds to get 3 fat points. COYW.

I called our unbeaten 23 match run in the Championship (on a different forum, now history), so I'm pretty confident. Remind me in May.

Well its true, we do need to go on a massive run to make the top 6!
Group of six anyone! Arsenal very lucky to have started with that facile win against now defunct combo Parkerball FC. COYW
Burnley were dreadful yesterday. Sure they got the win and fair play to them. I can understand the criticism that Arsenal are getting but the game swung on the idiotic behaviour of Xhaka. I didn't see anything from Burnley to cause concern. They are resolute at the back but totally lacking when on the front foot, relying on set plays. They have very little pace in the team and will continue to find it difficult to score goals. They are a very poor team. If we continue progressing in the manner of recent matches we will pick up more points than Burnley over the rest of the season.

agree 100%, over the next 26 matches we should be able to get more points than burnley ... however we must not loose against them.
Not sure how it happened very oddbut I ended up looking at post from January 2019 talking about our record at Turf Moor.I think it's time put that one to bed. After our recent performances I'm sure we can.
Burnley' next four fixtures are: Villa, Wolves, Leeds and Sheffield. I guess this the window they hope to get 7-8 points minimum and move up the table.
Don't write Burnley off.
They are a tough proposition, very hard to break down, and with a battling quality instilled by the manager.
And experienced at staying in the Prem.
Agree with the last two posts
We can't rely on Burnley having a crap season

Totally agree but who can you see being drawn into it if not us? Brighton maybe? But I think they'll be too strong.
