Fulham forward and younger brother of Chelsea star Tammy Abraham to spend week at Cheltenham Town

Chance to impress for 20-year-old former Bristol Rovers, Plymouth Argyle and Raith Rovers loanee

Fulham forward Timmy Abraham will spend this week with Cheltenham Town.

He is the younger brother of Chelsea and England star Tammy.

The 20-year-old former Bristol Rovers loanee is due to play in Tuesday night's friendly at Evesham United.

He started out in the youth set-up at Charlton before joining Fulham, where he has been since 2017.

Abraham has scored two EFL Trophy goals for his parent club's Under-21s, against Stevenage and Fulham during the 2019/20 campaign, before he moved to Bristol Rovers during the second half of that season and made four substitute appearances.

London-born Abraham spent the first part of last season in League One with Plymouth Argyle before moving to the Scottish Championship with Raith Rovers in January.

He is 6ft 1in, can run in behind and is regarded as a hard-working forward, who can also play out wide.

Cheltenham are looking for at least one centre forward to provide competition for Andy Williams, Alfie May, George Lloyd and Callum Ebanks.

The Robins started their pre-season schedule with a 3-0 win at Cinderford Town on Saturday, with Williams scoring twice and second year scholar Felix Miles also on target.

The only trialist to appear for the League One side at the Causeway was former Swindon Town midfielder Toby Holland, who played the final 30 minutes.

Abraham on trial with Cheltenham

Young Fulham forward Timmy Abraham is on trial at Cheltenham Town.

The 20 year-old, who spent last season on loan with Plymouth Argyle and Raith Rovers, is expected to play in Cheltenham's pre-season friendly against Evesham United on Tuesday night.

Abraham, the younger brother of Chelsea striker Tammy, has struggled to progress through the ranks at Motspur Park after signing from Charlton Athletic in 2017. He scored twice in last season's EFL Trophy but his loan spells away from Craven Cottage weren't particularly successful. He made just seven senior appearances for League One Plymouth and played eight times for Raith Rovers – all without scoring a goal.

Cheltenham are seeking striking options to supplement their attack ahead of the new League One season.

Wolves reportedly ready to pay £10 million for Antonee Robinson

Wolverhampton Wanderers are lining up a move to sign Fulham defender Antonee Robinson, according to a report from The Sun (print edition, July 11, page 61).

Bruno Lage desperately needs to bolster his defensive ranks at Molineux this summer.

The Black Country outfit conceded 52 goals in 38 Premier League games under Lage's predecessor Nuno Espirito Santo – the ninth-worst record in the division.

The Portuguese coach will be desperate to get Wolves challenging for the top six or seven in the Premier League again next season.

And he seems to be making moves to help his team do just that.

Antonee Robinson bid readied by Wolves

That's according to the Sun, who claim that the Black Country club are lining up a £10 million bid for the Fulham man.

However, Lage could face competition from Manchester City for the talented United States international defender.

The former Wigan Athletic ace, 23, really impressed for Fulham in the Premier League last season.

In 28 appearances for the Cottagers, the left-back averaged 1.6 tackles, 1.3 interceptions and 1.9 clearances per game. He also averaged 1.9 dribbles per match.

£10 million for Robinson seems like fantastic value.

The concern for Wolves is that Manchester City will blow them out of the water financially in the race for the left-back's signature.

On the flip-side, Robinson will have far greater opportunities of regular first-team action with Wolves than he would at City.

It will be interesting to see how this transfer story develops over the course of the next few weeks.

Manchester City 'face a shock battle with Wolves for the signature of Fulham and USA left back Antonee Robinson'... with Bruno Lage 'interested in deal for around £10m'

Antonee Robinson joined Fulham last summer but has since suffered relegation
The left back played 28 Premier League games last term and be a left wing back
Wolves are reportedly willing to compete with Manchester City for Robinson
The Midlands outfit would make a bid of around £10million for the 23-year-old
Pep Guardiola is said to want Robinson as cover for his squad down the left
Benjamin Mendy and Oleksandr Zinchenko both had injury-disrupted seasons

Manchester City are reportedly facing a tussle to sign Fulham left back Antonee Robinson, with Wolves now said to be in the race for his signature.

The 23-year-old joined Fulham last summer but suffered relegation from the Premier League before Scott Parker was replaced by Marco Silva.

And The Sun are now reporting that the Midlands outfit, who recently appointed Bruno Lage as their new boss after the departure of Nuno Espirito Santo, would be interested in signing Robinson if he became available for around £10million.

But the Premier League champions are now said to face competition for Robinson from Wolves

Robinson started 24 league games for Fulham last term - but couldn't prevent relegation

The USA international enjoyed an encouraging first season at Craven Cottage following his arrival from Wigan as he made 28 appearances in the top flight, with his ability to also play as a wing back ideal if teams want to switch to three at the back.

He still has three years left on his contract, but Pep Guardiola reportedly wants Robinson as competition and cover after a season which was punctuated by injury for both Benjamin Mendy and Oleksandr Zinchenko, while the versatile Joao Cancelo also featured at left back.

Mendy, who has played just 49 Premier League matches in four years after several extended spells on the sidelines, is on Inter Milan's radar, according to Corriere dello Sport, so Robinson's arrival could be much-needed.

Meanwhile, Lage is likely to favour left-back reinforcements after Jonny Otto suffered two serious knee injuries last season, with the Spaniard set to miss the start of the new campaign.

Neither Marcal nor Rayan Ait-Nouri were able to completely make the shirt their own in Jonny's absence, so Lage may feel that Robinson can be that man to stake a claim to start.
