Title: RIP Paul Parish Official Thread
Post by: Peabody on January 29, 2022, 08:45:08 PM
Please drop all messages and condolences in here.

We believe everyone at Friends of Fulham would agree that family is important, and that today's tragedy puts everything into perspective.  With that said, we would like to offer Paul's daughter Clare and her family our deepest condolences.  We are wishing them peace, comfort, courage, and all the love that we know the Fulham family is sending them now.

A MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE FROM OUR CHAIRMAN

I am devasted by the news that Paul Parish, our supporter who suffered a medical emergency at the match this afternoon, has passed away.

I've been told that Fulham Football Club played an extremely important role in the entirety of Paul's life, with Craven Cottage serving as a second home where he would spend many afternoons as a season ticket holder, supporting his club in the company of family and friends.

We are honoured that Paul chose Fulham as his club, and I personally wish Paul's loved one's comfort, support and peace in the days ahead and beyond.

To Marek Rodák and all supporters nearby who summoned for help, I am grateful. I join everyone at FFC in commending the work by medics and stewards, whose response to the matter was incomparable.

Finally, the reverence shown by Fulham and Blackpool supporters alike served as a reminder of good in the game of football, and the goodness within all of us.

From Mr. Tony Khan

I didn't go today as my wife is end of life with frontal demperal Dementia at 56 so I needed to be with her today.
How very sad. Nobody expects to Go to Craven Cottage and not go home safely to your loved ones. May god bless Paul and his family.
The message from the chairman is beautiful- well done Shahid and Fulham.

Thank you for your message. I really appreciate it. We are Fulham - We care for and look after each other - I was listening to GJ commentary this afternoon whilst sat next to my wife. I thought Jim and Jamie handled the situation really well. My wife will pass away in the next 3/4 days. A beautiful person who loves Fulham- we had many terrific times together watching our beloved club.

It didn't matter what the result was today, we lost a FFC family member.

Would be nice to donate some money towards a FFC related funeral peace, if anyone knows of anything being set up/ a family member of Paul Parish?

I would like to offer my condolences to the family of Paul Parish who at 63 had a lot of living to do. Yes it has hit us because we will remember it for some time. You have all lost a loved one and it will take time to come to terms with your loss. I wish you all the very best with the knowledge that the Fulham family will be thinking of you in the coming weeks. Take care

Very sensitive posting, my thoughts are with you.
I work in a "Demetia-to-Hospice" wing of a senior living facility

It's so very sad.
I have lost count of the amount of times I have been reading the bible

I am frequently tearful myself at this 'moment' and understand what the whole
family is going through.
Please remember that your family and the family of Paul have a 'Fulham Friend' in Virginia, Virginia.

I was sat in the front row of the Hammersmith End so saw Mr. Parish pass by on the stretcher. He was talking lucidly so I very relieved to think he was alright. Only heard the very sad news when I got home at 9. As has been said I agree that in the 63rd minute in the Millwall game there should be a minutes applause in appreciation of Paul. My condolences to all his family and friends.

So good to read the comments on twitter - particularly from Tim Ream but also Blackpool fans who were there and fans of other clubs.

Sorry to hear of your wife's situation, thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

Very sad too hear, not what you expect to happen at a football match, especially to someone of their age. Thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.

This thread is a really tough read. So sorry for Paul and his family and those others who have their struggles. Makes me realise more than ever how fortunate I am

I hope that Paul's family and friends take some comfort from having everyone in the ground clapping him and the people who cared for him, as he left the ground. I hope that the suggestion of a minutes applause at Millwall at minute 63 is taken up. RIP.

Tragic news the death of any fan and particularly a Fulham supporter. I wish his family all condolences and hope we honour Paul Parish's memory as a club to the best.

This is all so very sad and unfair and really puts things into perspective. It seems to have got to me a little more than I thought it would have. This read really hits home.

A really nice touch
+1.
I don't do social media. To the point that I rarely comment on this board, despite being a 58yr old lifetime fan. But I'm starting to get it. Having the resource to pay deserved respect to Paul and his family is comforting to me but most importantly, and hopefully, it's somewhere his family can take the greatest comfort by just revisiting these comments.

Also,
@Dunstable Fulham.....so very, very sorry mate.
