Quote from: ffcthereligion on July 16, 2025, 08:56:49 AMI note another poster said, 'to improve the quality of the squad we need to be making 40m purchases who are waiting out for CL clubs' - Im sorry but no we dont. We will never be in that position as long as PSR is around. We need to be finding Hujsens, Kerkezs, Caicedos, Cucerellas and Mbuemos. If that means a few more Le Marchands then thats a risk this club need to be brave enough to take

It wasn't to improve the quality of the squad, it was to improve the quality of the team. Yeah we should obviously be targeting prospects as well, but those aren't the kind of players who will definitely get you to progress quickly - Huijsen was signed to develop as Bournemouth's 3rd/4th CB, it was the injuries that got him in the first team then the shop window.

And most of those players listed (bar Mbeumo) cost A LOT more than you think. Caicedo was £25m 4 and a half years ago. He'd be £40m plus now. Kerkez was £15m for a 19 year old.

Quote from: hovewhite on July 16, 2025, 10:58:27 AMa Luiz type in midfield could help us dropping 28 points again this coming season.

Like Palhinha perhaps
image we had Palhinha in the 6 and Ruiz in the 8 and an inform ESR in the 10.
Regarding Ruiz from what I can find on the Internet he was on £75,000 a week at Villa and £86,000 a week at Juventus which is less than Leno, Raul and Willian last season.

I don't think our current level is any form of ceiling for improvement. Leeds Utd are pursuing players that would rather go to an established PL club like Fulham, Liverpool are competing against the financial clout of PSG, Real Madrid and Saudi. There are always bigger fish and I don't think this problem is unique to, or more acute at, any particular level of the football ladder.

Hi DM. With everyone wanting to know incomings from you is there any news regarding outgoings? In particular the alleged bids for Muniz. Rumours say Fulham are open to selling him at right price.

Thanks

Fulhamtransfer on twitter is finding it so hard to find any rumours that they're just retweeting all the club content now.

Wonder when it's all going to ramp up.

Sgt Fulham

No new rumours then? I'll come back in another month.

Bournemouth sign goalie for 25 million.

Barring a huge offer Muniz isn't for sale.
Marco wants to keep the squad together.

That's why Cairney got a new 1 year deal i have heard the players we are going for have multiple options from different clubs and we are being turned down by the players and agents we are now looking at plan C players that clubs are finding difficult to shift

no plan C just a long list of targets. Marco wanted to keep Cairney regardless.

Brentford have had a bid of £35m for Omari Hutchinson (who we were linked with earlier in the window) rejected by Ipswich.

Hell of a lot of money for a Championship side to turn down, even with parachute payments! Have to suspect Chelsea have a sizeable sell on clause.

If Arsenal fail to get Gyokeres or Sesko I'd be slightly nervous they would take a punt. Or Newcastle if Isak goes.

In that scenario, I could see Arsenal punting cheaply on Jackson till January tbh....

I still say having tapered off at the end of the season dropping down from 8 to 11 cost us certain players turned us down as expected.

Good bit of business for Chelsea.

FFN on discord:

"On Fulham closing in on their first signing, the update is the player is assessing his options."

I have asked if Romulo. Assuming if it is they have perhaps accepted ours and Leipzig s offer and up to the player but a complete guess. Frigging hard work isn't it.

What's the deal with "FFN discord" not heard of it, and there's an 'ITK' on there who shares content they won't on X etc?

25% I believe, Brentford match the release clause but couldn't agree the payment terms and now the release clause has expired conveniently for Ipswich. This is what happens when clubs know you have big money from one of your sales.
