This could be one of those where it goes to the final day of the window. I doubt they'd want to pay those wages until at least January for a bench player, and £8m is too much.

We should sign one of Ilicic, Hernandez or Dybala (pref Dybala) from relegated Palermo or Juan Quintero from relegated Pescara  instead of Bent (and these are just targets from the Italian league). We should be looking to the future - not signing 30-somethings on high wages who are past their prime.

Palermo along with most of the Spanish league are in some trouble finance wise. As unfortunate as that is it is an opportunity for us to get some good players.

Zulte's Junior Malanda has been watched by #ffc and #thfc (and #efc) and he fancies London as he has family there (Sports/Foot).

This is the same lad we were linked with in January; 18 years old and just had his first season in the Belgian league. He's described as a "very powerful defensive midfield" and was U19 captain for Belgium.

Seems more of a Diarra than a Murphy-type player some were asking for, but could be exciting. He's young and inexperienced, but Belgian players seem to be taking to the PL pretty well.

Our continued interest in these young talents is exciting. Now if only we could start bringing them through to the first team. Hopefully some of the names Jol was mentioning towared the end of last season will start popping up on rosters come the beginning of the next.

Really hope we'll be able to add some exciting young hot prospects across Europe like that Malanda kid and maybe Nathan Redmond as well. The way Villa has been doing that has been impressive.

On a side note, we were linked with Mame Diouf, who did really well in the past season with Hannover. However he seems to be signing a contract extension. boo.

Kerim Frei is set to sign a 4 year deal with Fenerbahce according to some reports in Turkey. No indication of the size of the fee yet though.
