David Hockney

Probably something not getting a mention on many club boards but David Hockney has past away (88)
I was an art student back in the mid 70's and Hockney was viewed as different. One of five born to a working class family in Bradford. Went to the Royal College of art after school and was one of the early artists of the Pop Art movement.

We have been very fortunate over the years to see a lot of exhibitions of his work . A fantastic artist who has given millions of people pleasure. He lived his life to the full but will be sorely missed .RIP.

Very sad he stood out for his own inventions and ability to be soo different yet so good ( just my view )

Sad. Talented and accessible. Striking, vibrant images.

Was hoping he might last long enough for us to appoint him manager. We could do with some imagination and artistry.
Still, I hope Arbeloa will do instead.

Eighty-eight, did what he wanted to do, worked until the end and the work in his later years was amongst his best, certainly it resonated most with me.  Oh how to be like that.

Marvellous man, used colour to make the viewer feel things that defy description. What a gift.

It must be the Yorkshire air that helps the creativity.... and helps them find it for a long time..(H was 88, B is 92 not out...)
