Heading the ball

Watching the World Cup matches I was intrigued by how varied are attempts at heading the ball. What is more,the best headers were always good at it. It doesn't seem like players improve with heading during their careers. Could this be partly due to human anatomy? Was Andy Carroll born with the neck of a bull? I dunno, but two of our players at the WC are pretty hopeless. Berge for all his height and Jedi who almost makes you feel that the ball has landed on the very top of his head and bounced off.
Ronaldo is good because of his strange ability to hang in the air and although I am not supporting the Harry Maguire campaign he is very good at directing his commanding headers.
Which leads to the question - is Dan Burn the answer to Haaland? I dunno.

FIFA will allow an "upside-down player" to "head the ball when it is upside down", but we will need another VAR Referee that is upside down to determine any "clear and obvious mistakes involving being upside down or not". FIFA makes sure "Football Unites the World" with more VAR referees on the payroll.
