Maybe there are examples people can quote. But in the vast majority of managerial appointments going back to the year dot, fans do not get a running commentary from their club on how negotiations with a potential new manager are going and/or why there is a delay. Yes, silence is annoying and rumour fills gaps, but I'm not sure that we should be expecting anything different.

I'm pretty sure Fulham have now got a new young manager.... remember Fulham have had managers with loads of experience & it hasn't ended well... Ranieri springs to mind.... let's just give the new manager time to settle in and it could be exciting times ahead
