I think this is an insane fee.

Just to stir the pot a bit, he had one fewer G+A last season than Wilson according to the site I was looking at. Also fits the HG mold.

Discuss.

Quite surprised as it looked like Arsenal were leading the chase. No CL for him at Chelsea so must be financial decision you would imagine?
Where does that leave Palmer? I would envisage he leaves and heads back north?

It's absolutely crazy money? I was shocked at Gordon's fee, but this is a step further I feel. Over £100m should be for a real world beater, and Roger's is great, but not great enough to justify that fee I feel

Crazy, and not really what they need, better defenders are needed more.

Middlesbrough pocket £20.2m from this as well...

These sell on clauses might be a good idea Mr Khan!

SP

Another player from the dog track fatigued before the new season, lovely.

DadCreature

Much as I hate Chelsea, I'd take Palmer.

I do hope they are going to have to pay VAT on top of that £117m  :slap:

Don't give Reeves any new ideas.
Next thing you know clubs will have to pay capital gains tax on any profit made for selling players for more than they paid for them.🤫

If Rogers is worth 117m what is our own Josh King worth?

At the moment, not a huge amount. He has to step up this year & if he does, then he will be worth a significant amount.

The Cravenette

Rogers and Palmer were both in the City Academy and are friends. They even share a goal celebration. I would be surprised if he is a Palmer replacement. He is just yet another example of a "big" club flexing their financial muscles.

If that were the case, on current form we wouldn't fall foul of that trap often.

Bassey the warrior

Confused by this move. Both Palmer and Rogers most effective as a 10. Wonder how Alonso is planning to accommodate both?
