Fulham, Chelsea and Coventry City could battle for RC Strasbourg's Martial Godo this summer.

Matias Soule is now likely to leave AS Roma, with talk around Sunderland and Fulham growing.

A few weeks ago, Aston Villa were exploring the chance of signing the Argentine. At that point, Roma had to meet FFP demands and were in desperate need to sell. Even though the deadline to stay within financial parameters has passed, the versatile attacker could still leave.

Earlier this week, Sport Witness covered how the player is keen on a move to England. He has rejected moves to Saudi Arabia and is desperate to play in a European competition next season.

Corriere dello Sport state Soule and Manu Kone are two possible candidates to leave Roma. The Frenchman's price tag has gone up because of a good World Cup, Soule, however, didn't make the Argentina squad.

According to the report, Soule has expressed doubts about his future to his Roma teammates. He has a feeling he could be sold this summer. That view is shared by his agent, and talks have been held between him and Giallorossi sporting director Tony D'Amico.

During these discussions, the Italian has been informed of interest from Sunderland and Fulham. They have made initial contact, with Roma now looking forward to receiving formal offers for Soule.

The newspaper states €35m is needed to sign the former Juventus talent. Without that, Roma are unlikely to sit at the negotiating table.

Our take: Ghisolfi holds the key
Fulham are keen on the attacker but Sunderland should still be the favourites. This isn't just because of European qualification but due to Florent Ghisolfi's presence at the Stadium of Light.

He saw the 23-year-old up close at Roma, also playing a big role in bringing him to the club from Juve. This was right after his impressive loan at Frosinone, where Soule was often the best player on the pitch.

Ghisolfi clearly knows how good he can be and also knows that he is well-experienced at a European level.

Brazilian giants Flamengo are in talks to re-sign their academy graduate Rodrigo Muniz from Fulham this summer.

Flamengo have opened talks with Fulham over a move to bring Rodrigo Muniz back to the club as they look to strengthen their attacking department ahead of next season.

According to a report from Netfla, the Rio de Janeiro outfit have identified the Fulham striker as a key target and are working on a deal that would see the 25-year-old return to familiar surroundings.

Muniz came through Flamengo's academy before earning a move to the Premier League in 2021, and his previous spell at the club is viewed as a major advantage as negotiations continue. The Brazilian giants are keen to add more firepower to their squad and believe Muniz fits the profile they are looking for.

Beyond his qualities on the pitch, the striker's familiarity with the club, its environment and playing style could allow him to settle quickly if an agreement is reached. Muniz has spent the last five years in England after joining Fulham from Flamengo in the summer of 2021.

However, injuries have continued to hamper his progress. Similar fitness setbacks affected his most recent campaign, limiting his involvement once again while also impacting his output in the final third.

Despite those setbacks, Flamengo appear convinced that the striker still has plenty to offer. The club see him as an experienced option who has matured considerably since leaving Brazil, and they believe a return home could help him rediscover his best form.

For Fulham, Muniz remains a valuable squad member, but the ongoing discussions suggest Flamengo are serious about testing the Premier League club's resolve. Talks have now begun as Flamengo attempt to complete a reunion with their former academy graduate.

The Cottagers are already in the market for a new striker, showing interest in Gonzalo Garcia, and given Muniz's recent injury track record, cashing in on him would make sense as look as they can make key additions to their attack ahead of the new season.

Despite consistently impressing in England, Berge has never had the opportunity to play for one of Europe's elite clubs.

Sources have confirmed Berge was already included on the extensive midfield shortlist compiled by Manchester United ahead of the summer transfer window, with the club planning a significant rebuild in the centre of the park.

Jason Wilcox has led that recruitment process, and after sitting down with Carrick, has identified the need for three central midfielders following Casemiro's departure at the end of his contract.

That search has brought Berge back into focus.

TEAMtalk understands Man Utd now ended their interest in Atalanta's Ederson after complications surrounding a proposed move and have since reassessed several alternative targets.

Brighton's Carlos Baleba remains highly admired at Old Trafford, but the Seagulls' valuation is still viewed as prohibitive.

Contact has also been made for Manu Kone, and, as we exclusively revealed on July 9, the France international is very much on their radar.

Berge, by contrast, is regarded internally as a far more attainable option, though.

Sources indicate Man Utd believe the Fulham midfielder could be signed for less than £40million, making him one of the most attractive value-for-money options currently available.

TEAMtalk can reveal renewed contact has already been made this month as Man Utd continue their due diligence. However, Berge is far from the only name under consideration.

Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes has come back onto Man Utd's radar after Atletico Madrid's interest cooled, though Aston Villa are now on track to win the race for him.

Lille sensation Ayyoub Bouaddi continues to be monitored United, too, despite fierce competition from across Europe.

Kone also remains firmly in the conversation after intermediaries made it clear the France international is keen on a move to England, with Chelsea also interested in him.

Borussia Dortmund's German star Felix Nmecha is another target that the Red Devils have done work on.

Each candidate offers different qualities, but Berge's combination of Premier League experience, physical presence and relatively affordable price has ensured his stock continues to rise inside Old Trafford.

Brooke Norton-Cuffy's representatives are working hard to secure a return to the Premier League, with Fulham, Everton and Brentford among the clubs actively monitoring the young right-back, TEAMtalk understands.

The 22-year-old, currently playing for Serie A side Bologna, has been placed on multiple shortlists this summer.

Norton-Cuffy's agents have been in regular contact with several Premier League sides looking to strengthen their defensive options ahead of the new campaign, and there is a hope he will land a move this summer.

He came through the Arsenal academy before earning valuable first-team minutes on loan at Coventry City. Norton-Cuffy's move to Italy has given him the chance to develop in a different tactical environment, where he has shown good pace, crossing ability and an appetite to get forward on the right flank.

Bologna are not closed off to his sale if the right fee arrives. My colleague, Graeme Bailey, reported earlier this week that around £17million could be enough to sign the England Under-21s international.

Those close to the situation say the player is viewed as a long-term prospect with the potential to become a regular in the top flight.

Fulham are understood to have admired his profile for some time and are the most serious admirers, while Everton also considered him in January, and Brentford have also included him among their potential targets for full-back or wing-back reinforcements.

Bologna are believed to be open to offers for Norton-Cuffy. Discussions are at an early stage, but the fact that his camp is pushing for a move back to England suggests a deal could materialise before the window closes.

At just 22, Norton-Cuffy still has plenty of room to grow. A Premier League return would allow him to compete at the highest level in his home country while continuing his development under experienced coaches.

Whether any of the interested clubs can convince Bologna to part with him remains to be seen, but interest is clearly growing. No official bids have arrived yet, but they are expected.

Everton and Fulham face needing to offer a substantial sum if they are to convince Italian side Genoa to let go of Brooke Norton-Cuffy this summer, but the signs are the player could be living his 'last days' at the Rossoblu.

The Toffees narrowly missed out on European football last term and have been working in the transfer market to make key additions to the squad to make a stronger challenge in the upcoming campaign.

Adding a right-back is critically important for Everton and they have been linked with several options, including Atalanta star Raoul Bellanova, along with Djed Spence, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Strasbourg's Guela Doue.

Meanwhile, Fulham are looking to back new manager Alvaro Arbeloa in the transfer market as the Spaniard looks to make an impact.

The Spanish boss has identified defence as an area of improvement and the Cottagers 'have made an enquiry' about Torino star Marcus Pedersen.

However, both Everton and Fulham do have a common target in the shape of Norton-Cuffy, and both clubs 'are interested' in a possible move for the Serie A defender this summer.

According to Italian daily Il Seccoli XIX (via Calciomercato.it), Norton-Cuffy could be living his 'last days' at Genoa due to the Premier League interest.

Genoa are not keen on selling, but the situation is expected to change if a bid of around €20m arrives.

Norton-Cuffy came through the ranks of Arsenal's academy, but never played for the first-team, and was sent out on several loans, which included spells at Lincoln City, Rotherham, Coventry and Millwall.

The 22-year-old arrived at Genoa from Arsenal in the summer of 2024 and put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the club.

The English defender established himself as a regular in the starting eleven, and in the recent campaign, made 29 appearances, contributing to three goals in all competitions, despite missing several games due to injuries.

Everton have already made moves in the transfer window, with the signings of Merlin Rohl, Hayden Hackney and Tyrique George.

On the other hand, Fulham have experienced a slow start to the transfer window, but now with a new manager at the helm could begin to make a stronger push for priority targets.

It remains to be seen whether Norton-Cuffy will return to English football, or the 22-year-old defender will stay put in Serie A with Genoa.

Manchester United have made an approach for an Inter Milan full-back, according to a journalist, while we can reveal Old Trafford chiefs are discussing a potential move for a Fulham midfielder.

Man Utd have finally got their summer transfer window up and running this week, signing Andrey Santos, Karl Darlow and Youri Tielemans. Santos and Tielemans will form part of their new-look midfield, while Darlow will provide backup for first-choice goalkeeper Senne Lammens.

Man Utd make 'enquiry'
United made contact with Inter in April to tee up potential talks for four-time Brazil international Augusto, Ben Jacobs has revealed.

The Red Devils want a left-back who can provide Luke Shaw with competition and cover next season, as they prepare to return to Champions League football.

In an interview with The United Stand, Jacobs said: "Lewis Hall will speak to Eddie Howe and the Newcastle hierarchy, and it's, 'New deal or sale?'

"The player is aware of formative interest. Lewis Hall either wants to be a starter for Newcastle or somewhere else.

"I've heard Man Utd made an enquiry in April for Carlos Augusto, and they've assessed some young names like Oliver Scarles [West Ham], but the main priority will be trying to find somebody who is a starter and a specialist on that left-hand side."

Augusto, who is Federico Dimarco's backup at Inter, is thought to be available for €25-30m (£21-25m).

Hall is United's No 1 left-back target though, and we revealed on Monday that INEOS are determined to beat Chelsea to a £60m deal for the English talent.
