Internationals: Bobb bags for Norway in Nations League

Oscar Bobb was on the scoresheet in Norway's 3-2 win over Denmark in Tuesday's Nations League action.

His Fulham teammate Sander Berge played the full 90, going up against Joachim Andersen in the Group D tie.

It was Bobb who grabbed the opener just a quarter of an hour in, when he picked up the ball in the box and bent one into the far corner with his left foot.

A strike from Erling Haaland doubled the home side's lead in Oslo, although Mikkel Damsgaard's free-kick did reduce the deficit before the break.

Haaland's second restored the cushion after the break and, although the Danes did pull another goal back through Rasmus Hojlund, it was Ståle Solbakken's team who came out on top – with a late red card for David Moller Wolfe doing little to impact the result.

It's a quick turnaround for both teams, with Norway facing Portugal and Denmark taking on Wales on Sunday.

Elsewhere, David Affengruber was named on the bench in Austria's 3-1 win over Israel, with Kosovo up next for Ralf Rangnick's side.

Leno nominated for PL Save of the Month

Bernd Leno's fantastic stop from Bryan Mbeumo in our 1-1 draw with Manchester United has been nominated for the Premier League's Coca-Cola Save of the Month for September.

The goalkeeper reacted superbly to tip the United forward's effort around the post at full-stretch in the second half.

Leno made a series of fine saves in the Cottage clash, and was only beaten when Matheus Cunha's effort was deflected in.

He faces competition from Crystal Palace's Dean Henderson, Arsenal's David Raya, Manchester City's Gianluigi Donnarumma and Liverpool's Alisson Becker.

Josh King is the biggest winner of the Arbeloa experiment so far
Our academy grad is the huge positive of 2026-27 so far.

Alvaro Arbeloa joined Fulham with a vision: a view to integrate youth with experience, and while our new gaffer's project is still in the prototype phase there's one clear winner so far: Josh King - and with good reason.

We all know Arbeloa is a strong believer in blooding youngsters - it's his main personality trait a this point. Cesar Palacios and Manuel Angel both have Alvaro to thank for their respective Los Blancos debuts, but it isn't all about introducing the next generation to the masses - championing their reputations is also just as important. And that's where King emerges into the limelight.

With a new boss coming through the door for Marco Silva – the man who entrusted Josh to make his mark against Birmingham City in 2024 – Arbeloa's arrival could've could've changed things for King, but sure enough - the only direction of travel for our midfield pocket rocket is to the stars.

There have never been any doubts over Josh's ability; he's held in the highest regard at the parks of Motspur and St. George, but reputations don't always account for everything when a new manager's appointed and our 19-year-old wasn't about to get off on the wrong foot.

He was invited to train with Thomas Tuchel's World Cup camp during the summer; he's undoubtedly destined for a Three Lions call-up and he only narrowly missed out on England's October meetings, but he will continue to be in contention because Arbeloa's system is tailor-made for his punchy mediapunta style.

With a license to meddle, hustle and mesmerise, King is no shrinking violet; he isn't scared of his own shadow and as Alvaro inherited him when his confidence was at its peak, his potential has been harnessed to the fullest and he is now the first name on Fulham's team sheet.

The thing is, you cannot associate Josh with inferiority or subordinance. He had to prove his worth to a manager who wasn't particularly accommodating to youth players and he did so, emphatically. He had to dislodge multi-million-pound signings such as Emile Smith Rowe and now it's clear, he is streets ahead of the Hale End grad.

King is designed for close encounters, the narrow yards between a defender's studs and open space and Arbeloa's seemingly plotting a plan that has King, his crowning jewel, at the forefront of it all.

Diminutive but by no means weak, adventurous but not wasteful, Josh's daringness on the ball has us gripped. His dedication to improvement and progression is a defining non-negotiable to this new-look Fulham we're all curious of and King's natural ethic and attitude will ultimately set the standard for the entire collective, budding or otherwise.

SW6's stellar starlet is evolving. He's a model trainer and performer with a humble head on his shoulders, A teenager, yes, but he isn't green to the weight and pressure of the Premier League, nor is he daunted by stages and stadiums that would even leave men in their fifties quaking in fear, he relishes each challenge and he sidesteps every obstacle with one driving objective: to take Fulham to the next level. Why wouldn't Alvaro want to tap into this willingness?

Arbeloa may have persuaded a very talented Real Madrid crop to follow him to the banks of the Thames, and that also must be commended, but of all the players he had to recognise as integral - despite the hand-picked signings and big-money moves - King was at the top of the list, and his on-field return to date -albeit five games into the season - demonstrates why he is Fulham's shining light amid one or two dark clouds.

Josh is an FPL cheat code, a fancied should-be England option, a poster boy for the club's revered development system and just as much of an advocate for Arbeloa's programme as Alvaro is for his ingenious number 10's influence.

Hopeful understudies should study King and how he conducts himself. Chibby Nwoko, Jayden Quashie, Macauley Zepa and all of those vying to be noticed by Arbeloa need to stay hungry, prepared and above all else, disciplined, because they can certainly follow suit in this revamped Fulham set-up. A path has been paved and now it is up to them to tread it regularly, rather than fleetingly.

This partnership and understanding between Josh and Alvaro simply must work because if it does, we're going to witness football that's exciting, bold, risky and defiant, and King will be the proud torch bearer.

Fulham transfer was torpedoed by €25m demand – Mendes could be offering him around
Fulham attempted a late move for Tiago Gabriel in the summer transfer window. Even if a deal didn't go through, the player's future is far from secure.

Throughout the transfer window, it became evident that the defender was being monitored by several clubs. Crystal Palace were one and AC Milan were also exploring a deal.

Late in the window, Jorge Mendes was attempting to find suitors. This led to Fulham emerging as a suitor, as they were also keen on Milan's Fikayo Tomori.

Alvaro Arbeloa's side were looking to sign one of the two but neither materialised. The Lecce player has become the talk of the town again.

Mendes at the heart of things
Friday's print edition of Tuttosport states Mendes has been working closely with Italian clubs – again. While he was operating with AC Milan in the summer, he has now held a meeting with Juventus.

While they discussed Francisco Conceicao's renewal, Gabriel's situation was also talked about.

Fulham were interested in the summer appeared keen, eventually pulling away because of Lecce's €25m valuation.

Now, the impression is Gabriel's value will go higher, after he recently signed a new deal.

But for Mendes, a transfer is all that matters. This has led to Juve now being interested, with intrigue for the player growing.

Club and Mendes working together
It is no coincidence that Lecce recently tied Gabriel down to a renewal. Especially after the saga in the summer, it is clear Mendes and the Italian side are working to keep raising the player's value.

Fulham have the financial capacity to go higher. This would hurt Juve, who would look for a loan or cheap deal.

Lecce have sold a lot of their key players abroad. They thrive on making major capital gains. This suggests Arbeloa's side should keep a close eye on the situation.

We therefore encourage all supporters planning on attending Premier League fixtures, home or away, to update their friends and family network ahead of the start of the season to ensure they can easily assign tickets at the point of purchase. Supporters can follow our step-by-step guide on how to do this here.

Chelsea hit with FA charge over discriminatory chanting in Fulham derby clash
Blues warned fans after reports of sectarian chanting at Craven Cottage last month

Chelsea have been charged by the Football Association (FA) over alleged discriminatory behaviour by their supporters.

The breach relates to chanting from some Blues fans during the 3-2 west London derby win over Fulham at Craven Cottage last month - their first game of the new Premier League season.

A statement from an FA spokesperson read: "Chelsea FC has been charged with breaching FA Rule E21 during the ninth minute of its Premier League fixture against Fulham FC on 24 August.

"It's alleged that the club failed to ensure its spectators and/or supporters did not behave in an improper, offensive, abusive or insulting way.

"It's further alleged that this behaviour was discriminatory in that it included a reference, whether express or implied, to religion or belief."

Chelsea wrote to their supporters after the match against Fulham following reports of sectarian chanting.

The club warned that the "strongest possible action" would be taken against those found responsible, including bans from attending matches.

"The passion and backing from our fans are vital in achieving a successful season, and we encourage you to continue your vocal support for the team," Chelsea said in an email to fans.

"Following the fixture, we have received multiple reports of sectarian chanting from a small portion of those in attendance at the match.

"We would like to strongly remind all supporters that the club does not condone any chants which discriminate against a protected characteristic.

"Any supporter found guilty of this will face the strongest possible action, which could include indefinite suspension from attending all Chelsea matches and ejection from the stadium.

"Following previous club fines and charges for chants of this nature, and to ensure that we create a welcoming matchday experience for all, we ask supporters to take collective responsibility and remain vigilant in helping us tackle discriminatory chanting."

Chelsea won their first three matches of the season under new manager Xabi Alonso but have stumbled since then.

Following a 3-0 loss at Brentford, the Blues currently sit 10th in the Premier League table, already eight points off the pace set by early leaders Manchester City under Enzo Maresca, the former Chelsea boss.

They return to action following an extended three-week international break against Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge on October 10.

Internationals: Shea scores dramatic Northern Ireland winner

Shea Charles scored a sensational winner for Northern Ireland in the ninth minute of added time to secure a 1-0 victory over Georgia.

The Nations League tie had been goalless, with Georgia's Khvicha Kvaratskhelia seeing his second-half penalty saved by Shea's brother, Pierce.

That was until the Fulham midfielder stepped up to smash home the only goal of the game, sealing Northern Ireland's first-ever Nations League B victory.

Speaking post-match, Shea said: "I thought we fought really hard. To just come away with that winner is just incredible.

"We're still a really young group and just to be able to keep our temper and defend like that towards the end of the game and come away with the winner - it's just really good."

Elsewhere, Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi both completed 90 minutes for Nigeria in their 2-1 win over Madagascar.

The Super Eagles had fallen behind in the AFCON Qualifier before Iwobi threaded a beautiful ball through to George Ilenikhena, who equalised.

In the second half, Moses Usor scored the winner to secure victory for Nigeria. They will next face Guinea-Bissau on Tuesday.

Back in the Nations League, Timothy Castagne also played the full match as Belgium beat Italy 2-0 away from home, while Hugo Larsson was an unused substitute as Sweden beat Romania 2-1.

In the Under-21 European Championship Qualifiers, Josh King starred as England ran out 4-2 winners over Kazakhstan, while Gonzalo García was handed the captain's armband in Spain's narrow 2-1 defeat to Finland.
