I've no doubt that Ruiz is Jol's preferred no. 10 in behind berbatov when he's fit. Although he's only shown glimpses of his class so far for us, you have to remember that Jol basically saw him win the league for Twente when he was in Holland as Ajax manager.

really? i find 5 in the middle more boring if we are still getting over run. and if you get the two up top working well together it can be a joy to watch. think back to qpr at home. bobby and aj played as one that day and we reaped the rewards

well for me when playin football there is no one to bridge the gap from midfield to the stikers in 4-4-2, in a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1 you can have an attacking midfielder (Ruiz) and this causes the defence more problems and there is a man to pass to inbetween the lines of defence and midfeild thus creating more passing because there is more options to pass to,

and i remember that game i also remember qpr played like a league 1 side that game, when else have we played 4-4-2 against good opponents and looked attractive, non to me come to mind, but thats just me, im not tryna diss anyone just tryna put my spin on it

no thats fair enough and to me it all depends on who is available for selction. today i would probably opt for 5 with  ruiz behind the berb. but if that 5 is the same 5 that started against saints away then its a big no thanks from me. our midfield was shocking that day as ruiz has to come to deep as baird and sidwell dont like to push on.

Berba likes to drop and get the ball into feet before turning and looking up so although 4.4.2 he drops almost making it 4.2.1.3 with the 2 wide players attacking (kaca and Duff)
At this time against a Reading who will give us no time on the ball like Southampton did I would take Berba and Rodders as Berba when he drops never seems to fail to spot a pass or create 5 yards of space whereas Ruiz seems to require the 5 yards before he gets the ball. That being said he has showed more confidence when Diarra and/or Karagounis has been playing.

In my 4.2.1.3/4.4.2 I would start duff and kaca but Dejagah also in the mix.
I can't start duff on the bench when he has been the player of the season so far IMO

Like I said between them 3 for the 2 wide roles I would have. I would be happy with Dejagah
However Duffers has still been our best player despite the entire team being extremely poor in 2

My original comment/point was more toward the formation and 2 strikers (Berba & Rodders) than Damien Duff :-)
