NFR: Bobby Tambling

With apologies for posting about that lot.

As a boy, my best friend was a decent lad called Gary Tambling, the icing on the cake being that his father played for Palace our local club. In those days, the Eagles were a huge club compared to us struggling Cottagers. Never saw anything of Tambling senior due to his commitments, the pub perhaps?  Then one day he collected his son from my house.  What a buzz, a professional footballer in your house, it made my year.  Unfortunately, they moved to Cork I think when Palace released him & we lost touch.

What a shock then when I learned a few years back that he had that lot on his CV - I had no idea.  Seemed far too nice to be tainted by them.
