Isn't that transfer window and the way that so many players and clubs wait until the last minute before they conclude their business ridiculous.  We and many others go through pre-season training and then five or six friendlies when often the line-up playing in them bears no relation to that which will be on the field after the window shuts.  Last year in the friendlies and the opening two League games we built everything around Dembele as our playmaker, only for him to depart a fortnight into the season. This effectively renders all the pre-season work and the friendlies a partial waste of time.  Why on earth can;'t the window shut BEFORE the season starts so that everyone knows where they are from day one.

Totally agree with you

The window is a UEFA date as far as I understand. Its a decision of the FA when the lge starts. Start the lge after Sept 2 then thats sorted.

Berbatov was out of the blue. Most of our deals are out of the blue. The club operates quietly as this makes sure that prices are not inflated by other teams challenging us. Wait for three weeks and then complain.

Personally I feel that if Jol wasn't so scared to drop Ruiz, Duff etc. for younger, brighter players then we would be totally fine. Chris David looks very good (seen him in preseason and in U21's), Kasami also looks like a clever player and Frei (although about to leave it seems) offers quite a lot in my book.

Just calm down, football does matter and we all love the club but there are more important things in life and the way some of you talk about it it seems that you are crying yourselves to sleep at night!

Really? Calm down and there are more important things in life. That is the advice? I bet you failed your Samaritans interview didn't you? Anybody think this was a football MB. Oh wait. I cry myself to sleep knowing that there are people about who really don't understand.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

If we go into this season with the squad we have now, there'll be a change of management sometime during the campaign. There is no way we'll get away with not adding to the squad.

Jim you are just overly negative, I generally am a reader of this board rather than a writer but your pessimism is one thing that does stand out. I prefer to be a glass half full kind of a guy when it comes to Fulham. My thinking goes like this:

1. Can I change what happens? No.

When you realise that you will be a lot less torturously depressing. I like talking about Fulham and what I would do but please realise that there is a reason you are not a manager/cheif executive of a football club.

I think the reason for the perceived increased negativity is that the club's weaknesses are so glaring & obvious and have been over an extended period of time and yet the professionals/experts in charge haven't addressed them.  I'm still looking for Danny Murphy's replacement.  Until that happens, it doesn't matter who we have up top.  No adequate service = no goals (or not enough of them anyway).

You have a glass?

As I've mentioned before, not everyone drinks straight out of the bottle, wrapped in a paper bag, whilst shouting at dog-walkers and young mums with pushchairs who go too close to his park bench (a three-mile radius, if memory serves).
Any fool can criticise, condemn and complain, and most fools do.

Show me the person who doesn't drink out of a bottle wrapped in a bag? I am considered posh as my bottle AND bag are recycled.

I have said this before but the one thing that Jol does well is bring quality talent into the club.  For some reason good players want to come and play for him.  I still can't believe that Berbatov is playing for Fulham...

He might stink when it comes to tactically setting up a side but getting a quality player in is a different story.

He has 3 weeks to get his guys in...  lets hope it is this week.

Oxford White, for one, as he has a glass. Yes, I admit, he doesn't actually claim that he uses it in his missive, but would one say he had a glass if he did not use it? No. He would quietly bury it and pretend it had never happened, a bit like the aftermath of the nuclear fallout shelter saga (how did you actually get out in the end, you never did say).

As for me, I am a traditionalist, none of this namby-pamby recycling nonsense. A good old-fashioned brown papar bag does me, fools everyone, nobody realises I am necking 2 litre bottles of Strongbow while I have that around the bottle. Oh no. In fact, I have often got an admiring crowd standing round watching me, nudging eachother and pointing at me, obviously they think I am drinking water or something. And I don't shout at them. Well, not too often.

Master Rupert

The long nights and the short days locked in that fallout shelter. The hideous howling of pain and the bloody fingers as they scratched at the door in the hope of freedom.

Anyway to cut a long story short, the fallout shelter fell down after the second heavy rain. Last time I believe in the Mohicans or the Mayans or whoever said Pack up your troubles in the old Kit Symons and Run a mile mile mile.

Oxford White Says he has a glass. I can say I knew a real girl without pump attachment. Wouldn't make it so.

Forever Fulham

If I was a quality forward or mid, I'd jump at the chance to play with Berbatov.  He'd make me look that much better.  And there's no doubting Bryan's ability to thread the needle (when given space).  One of the holding mids will shine this season.  We just have to get a horse up top.  Come on, Alistair.  Please.

Ruiz11

6 days rather than 3 weeks, which is indeed cause for a bit of panic I'm afraid, especially as we are only likely to lose players now (like Frei and maybe even Kaca) rather than make any big signings.

You mean they don't all have a pump attachment? Really? Come on, I've never met one without, have you?

Edit - Actually, thinking about it, Berserker seemed to be lacking in the pump attachment area, that time I met her, and she was a bit intimidating so I didn't like to bring the subject up at the time in case she took offence, and my arm with that battleaxe she was carrying.
