Roy Interview On The Offal

A great pre match interview and one that makes me a fan again. He is honest about the problems with injury to key areas. He says that Kallio has been suffering from several virus problems and is weakened by them. Roy says they are looking for a left back for the long term and says that the team behind the scenes has been working all the hours God sends and Roy has no complaints. But the club will not be pushed into anything. He talks about the Smalling deal and Okaka joining next week if all things work out. He hopes that some of the money from Smalling will be passed on to strengthen the side and he has no problems with Uniteds offer and think they have been fair in their dealings.

Roy looks worried about the injury problems and playing a good Villa side but has the air of somebody who is still sure about what he wants has no problems with what has gone on and seems in fine fettle. Great to see him in good form even if the team are not.

He is a legend. No two ways about it. All week I've been a bit down about all this Smalling stuff and our run, but seeing that man on such good form has really cheered me up and given me some confidence for tomorrow. I think I'm in love with Roy Hodgson

Wasn't Tony Kallio also out "injured" because of viruses LAST season ?  What's wrong with his immune system??

Also I liked the little dig at Harry Redknapp...

Talking about how he's put together a good team, and then under his breath "It cost him an awful lot of money, but..."

Definitely a manager to be proud of.
