Take Me Home MAF

-Kalas and Ream were exceptional, keeping Kalas need to be the first on the wish list after signing Sess. We really have a great CB pairing there which we can build upon, would be a shame to see it end.

-KMD was superb as always, what a signing he has been. Probably my man of the match.

-Cairney and SJ have had great seasons, but yesterday both were poor. Countless misplaced passes, were unable to carry the team to an equalizer.

-Quite simply we did not lose because of the penalty, we lost because we could not find a breakthrough in the final third. Story of our season. The signs were there in the Brentford game, Ayite clean through on goal with a chance to make it 2-0, zero composure. Both him and Aluko can beat the man but have no composure in front of goal.

-Slavisas style of play works, with more competent players in certain positions we will roll teams over next year. Him being here next year should give us hope.

-It was gutting, and as I left the ground I had that numb feeling that takes over your body after a result like that. But we have to remember Slavisa overachieved with that group of players. I would have taken mid-table with progress this season. But when you get to the playoffs after the run we have been on, your expectations and belief rises.

-I feel Tony Khan really has the bug for us now, it's good to have a "custodian" who is starting to care.

Just aside from this a few other points

-I could not believe the reaction from the Reading fans, both during and after the game. I was 5 rows from the front and quite close to the corner where their loudest fans are. It's quite evident they long for a derby or some animosity in their lives as they never get those matches in their season with them being an irrelevant club from Berkshire. It was tragic, really. Instead of celebrating getting to Wembley – it was straight over to our stand to gloat.

-The state of Brentfords fans, including Brentfords official twitter account enjoying our defeat. Do they realise we do not even care about them?!

Anyway ...dust ourselves off, we are in a much better position than this time last year. Aim for top 6 again next season.

I'm gonna say it, Ream has been the better CB of the 2 in the final third of the season. Agree we need to keep Kalas, this is the partnership for next season.
First game: Fulham 4 Burnley 0, December 12th 1998.

I agree about Kalas, Ream, and McDonald and my thoughts have always been about relief (in the form of squad cover) for the latter who has been, in my books, the most significant and underrated addition to the squad.  He would get my vote as Fulham Player of the Season.

Poor show from Reading. They only managed to sell 20k seats in their biggest match of the season.
Looking at their squad I can only see 2 or 3 players that would be good enough for the Championship. Pretty much the same as Huddersfield. SW do have a few more that are capable & I expect them to gain promotion.

If we did have to lose, prefer it now than coming away from Wembley. Hope Huddersfield do it against Reading with an offside goal. Still looking forward to next season.

good report
IMO ayite and kebano are lovely fellows but nowhere near the required standard. ayite has been poor for weeks
to have to bring on martin and piazon, names that fill me with fear speaks volumes about lack of depth in the squad.

johansen seems to be underperforming too and I suspect has been carrying a nast knock since huddersfield, whatever he is off the boil too. we simply do not have a sufficiently large squad.

Agree with nose that we need a squad with more depth.  InwantbAyite and Kebano to work out (Odoi too) as they are all really decent guys. Let's see what SJ does in the close season, assuming he stays.
BTW I have a hunch we will pass Reading going the other way next season should they win the playoff final.
