Steven Brocklehurst provides a a bit of history on Archibald Leitch the architect who built the Johnny Haynes stand as well as the Cottage. It's all on the BBC news website

Anyone can blend into the crowd.  How will you standout when it counts?

Interesting.
Is the JH stand the only remaining example of Leach's work.

Wasnt that Cary Grants real name?
Remember you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.
I will be as good as I can be and when I cross the finishing line I will see what it got me

Fulham 442

Wasnt that Cary Grants real name?

Yes but his surname was spelled differently, Leach.

Fulham, Sheffield Wednesday, Dundee, Aberdeen, Crystal Palace and Portsmouth all have Leitch work that is still standing

You want it too easy! A link to the bbc web site?

I wonder if your correct 442. I see there was a picture of Glasgow Rangers Leitch stand and they seem to have modified it to a bigger seating area.  Correct me it that is not the case

And that is just a portion of what makes the Cottage so special.  Hopefully the Khans will come true with their improvements to the Cottage yet leave that has made the cottage so special all these years.
