Such a  classy, outstanding player, one of the few remaining heroes of that magnificent day for English football, at a time when  footballers didn't reap the rewards they do today.

Had the great pleasure of working with him a number of times along side Sir Geoff at exhibitions/public appearances.  Both consummate professionals but Martin was the quieter one yet still great value.  Always immaculately turned out and unfailingly helpful.

The first Fulham game I watched was Fulham v West Ham in 1966. There were four World Cup winners playing including the three West Ham and our own George Cohen. We won 4-2 on a warm day and I was hooked. I've been back every season since and seen some ups and downs. I remember Leeds hammer us 7-1 so it was good to see us win today. RIPMartin Peters

When was that? I remember we lost at Leeds 1-6 at Easter in 1956 and I was unfortunate to see us lose at home to them, 0-5 in 1968. Perhaps I'm conveniently forgetting the one you are remembering but I'm still trying to forget being at the 0-9 drubbing at Wolves, in 1959.
