Maurice Cook, always enjoyed Haynes glaring at him.

Maurice was a mate of my brothers so I met him several times. As a twelve year old I had never heard a man who fitted so many swear words into one sentence.

Some great and much loved characters from the past have been mentioned in this thread and it is now tempting to draw comparisons with our current players.
We have good players right now and you could argue that overall the quality is a lot better than it was when many of the old favourites were playing.

I am still addicted to Fulham and totally enjoy visits to the Cottage but really can't find characters who display the fun and enthusiasm that these old players brought into our lives.
