Anyone watching this? Derby look utterly shambolic surely certs for relegation.

Where are all the fans? The stand opposite the camera is literally empty. Are they banned or something? Must be one of the smallest championship crowds or all time?

Edit: apparently there is safety issues in that stand so they can't have fans in it

I think the championship won't be the most competitive league in the world like some say it was in the recent past, but it also won't go the way of the premier league either.

At the moment, the typical championship team has a very thin squad and played a heap of games since 20th June 2020. Lately, Teams with a deep squad are trashing teams with a small cohesive unit, but that won't remain for long.

Not much has changed, most of the championship sides have always had thin squads (ie not too many spare players), and due to the pandemic schedule has been compressed so that teams like Swansea have played 70 games and any international since 20th June 2020. They barely stand a chance against us now, but if we don't get the easy points we could find these teams so much better soon.

A refreshed and fully fit Swansea may give us a challenge to win, but a woren out Swansea with a few squad players injured is not. These teams are in a mess, but they will come back. A lot of decent teams that are tired (like Swansea) will be a lot harder to beat in 2022, so we ready need to push our advantage now.

I agree with that sympathy, having read recent reports as to his attempts to get players in, I think he is doing well, given the circumstances.
Regarding the recruitment embargo, i believe the EFL partially lifted this allowing Stearman, Allsop & Davies to be signed, though the underlying financial issues, and controversy regarding the ownership and loans leveraged against Pride Park and
Moor farm, are taking their toll, no doubt, at least they returned back to an operating profit in recent years.

As for Brum, they played the same fashion as we have suffered already this season, a tactic of - literally - kicking the youngsters off the pitch first and then playing their brand of footie. Good to see Deeney back to his childhood club though, I think he looked a lot happier there last night than he has in a while elsewhere, and good luck to him, he might be needing it.

Overall, a boring game, highlights being (obviously) the two goals and the various spats in a game that the ref never quite got to grips with, and in which there were few instances of outstanding play.

Exactly, we have to remember the financial pressure and problems they are under. The fact they can put out a side at all and be competitive is something they should be praised for. Even if I am pleased that the crimes of their past come back to haunt them.
