I'm a worrier by nature...and being a Fulham fan for 65 years has given me plenty of evidence I was right the first time. My happiest memory is definitely the 10-1 walloping of Ipswich in Dec 1963...and even at 9-1 I can't remember whether I was fully convinced we'd done enough. The tenth allowed me a moment to smile as Ipswich keeper Roy Bailey looked at all of us in the Putney end and sighed after a cross cum shot by Leggat sailed over his head into the net.

So I was taken aback, having a quick glance at Prem relegation odds at Paddy Power, to find us quoted at 1/12 against being relegated. Are they right or should we all be disloyal and put a 'lump' on?

Jim like yourself I have almost 65 years since my first game at the Cottage. For some reason (Silva perhaps) I think (hope) we will stay up. Also ,maybe just me, I think betting against my team is a bit disloyal. Never done it and not going to start now. If you have a bet and the worse comes to the worse then the blow may be softened a bit. Its your decision. If you do have a bet sorry but I hope you lose the bet.

I myself am at 50 years supporting our great club but couldn't put a bet on against us.much prefer to glass half full.

Likewise I couldn't do that but the bookies think Forest, Bournemouth, Saints, Leicester, Wolves & Everton are likely to be below us. I'd bite their hand off to finish 14th.  I think the World Cup might have an important advantage for us allowing Soloman and Kurzawa time to get fit and with a few challenge matches Vinicius to show what he can do. Moreover it nearly takes us into the next transfer window for an all important CM player

Be careful Jim, I was at that game and also the away game a few days later when we lost, nothing is a certainty

It all seems a bit odd.

Taken to my first game when I was 5, stood on the riverside up against the railings, So 69 years ago. Gamble on horses and dogs but don't like betting on football and especially Fulham games, but have to admit could not resist a bet at end of last season, have an account with PP and they offered what I thought was ridiculous odds on Forest at home to us, we had really nothing to play for job was done, they were in a big fight to get promotion and were the in form team, had 100 pounds on them, and quite honestly was not surprised at all in the result, sometimes these bookies make bad decisions, you just have to keep your eye out for them.

Jim, I think you should bet however you feel, it'll have no impact on the outcome of the match.

I don't gamble myself but I wouldn't blame anyone who places an 'insurance' bet on Saturday at 3/1.

ah, but it evens itself out over the course of a season!  :033:

Fortunately I don't bet, I tried, I failed, I stopped.  :dft001:
Logical is just in the name - don't expect it has anything to do with my thought process, because I AM the man who sold the world.

Oh dear I go back over 70 years and am rarely confident enough to predict a Fulham win, whenever I do it seems to act against us.

I was quietly confident for points against Newcaste and looked what happened. That result has put me back in my shell for a few months.

Only take vouchers from the Saturdays of free bets and place them and once once in a season.

The Rational Fan

The Odds for Bournemouth's Relegation is currently 1/1 (even money). If we lose to them this weekend, then I wonder what our odds would be next week. My guess something similar.

I get more nervous when I read threads like this one as it's more negative and favours the likelihood of a poor result.

Don't get nervous, results of games have nothing whatsoever to do with what is said on this thread or indeed any other thread.

Sadly she wasn't

Why didn't you tell me this Alfie 60+ years ago. Think of all those matches watched from behind the sofa etc...that I needn't have
