I am dismayed to put it mildly that Qatar is in pole position to buy Man U. I find Newcastle's Saudi ownership pretty sickening. Sorry, but there is not a moral equivalence between a quirky self made auto parts magnate and regimes that sponsor hegemonic violence against gays and women. I wish the Prem had had the will to take a stand. It didn't.

Agree, same applies to Man City and PSG.

Motspur Park

The quicker they all form their own so called Super League and be removed from ours, the better it will be for the game. The game may not have been as good in the 1970s but there was an attraction in seeing Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea, Spurs & West Ham flirt with relegation and actually go down.

The EPL will sell its soul to the highest bidder... morals don't come into it.... but as long as people keep paying to watch ..... nothing will change....

This is where other clubs in Europe are right.

Our Premier League is absolutely destroying football with utterly filthy money because ultimately our government have allowed it to do so.  Mods may not like that, but it is a huge part of the problem.

Whoever buys United will be waved in because the precedent (in footballing terms) has already been set, we shouldn't be surprised or shocked by this in any way shape or form.  Its what we have become.

Unfortunately I agree with every point you make Somerset. Newcastle being owned by such a despicable country like Saudi Arabia is bad enough, but now another coming in just makes it all so frustrating. At the end of the day, hopefully someone else comes in or the Glazer's just decide to stay in control, but point still stands.
