Fulham transfer news: Bayern Munich 'reluctant' to meet Joao Palhinha asking price
Fulham have reportedly stood firm on their asking price for Bayern Munich target Joao Palhinha.

The Portuguese midfielder appeared to be on the verge of completing a move to Bayern last summer after the two clubs had reached an agreement over a deal worth around £60m.

Palhinha travelled to Munich to complete a medical ahead of his proposed deadline day move, but was ultimately forced to return to Craven Cottage after the transfer collapsed.

After the move fell through, Palhinha agreed to sign a new Fulham contract to extend his stay until June 2028, with an option for a further year.

Although he signed a new long-term deal, there appears to be some uncertainty as to whether he will remain a Fulham player for the 2024-25 campaign

Bayern fail to meet Palhinha asking price
Bayern are still pushing to sign the Portugal international as they look to strengthen their midfield ahead of Vincent Kompany's first season as a Bundesliga manager.

However, according to The Telegraph, Bayern are finding it difficult to reach an agreement with Fulham over a potential transfer.

The report claims that the German giants are willing to pay £40m which is significantly below Fulham's reported £60m asking price.

Talks are continuing to be held as they look to find a suitable resolution, with Palhinha keen to try a fresh challenge at the Allianz Arena.

Bayern will consider alternative options if they are unable to strike a deal, and Everton's Amadou Onana has been mentioned as one of the players on their radar.

Why are Fulham refusing to budge on their valuation?
Fulham boss Marco Silva will be reluctant to sell the Portugal international, who has established himself as a key part of the squad following his arrival from Sporting Lisbon in 2022.

Palhinha has featured in 79 competitive matches for the Cottagers, chipping in with eight goals and one assist.

The defensive midfielder would leave a significant void if he was sold which is why Fulham will hold out for a considerable fee so they can sign a suitable replacement.

Palhinha is currently representing his country at Euro 2024, although he has had to settle for just one substitute appearance in Portugal's first two matches.

Any final decision over his future is likely to be delayed until Portugal have completed their involvement in the tournament.

3 Premier League teams chasing Fabio Carvalho transfer as forward handed Liverpool exit route
While Liverpool youngster Fabio Carvalho is committed to fighting for his place on the roster, several Premier League rivals are also competing for his signature

Liverpool looks set to make a permanent decision regarding the future of talented Portuguese youngster Fabio Carvalho this summer.

The 21-year-old winger signed with the Reds in 2022 and has since ventured away from Anfield for a pair of loan stints at RB Leipzig and Hull City. But after a successful half-season with the Tigers, Carvalho has become a prized transfer target for both Liverpool's Premier League rivals and talented teams around the continent.

Carvalho enjoyed a bright start to his career on Merseyside, scoring a pair of goals in August 2022 after arriving in the summer transfer window from Fulham, but quickly fell out of favor with Jurgen Klopp and was on loan the entirety of last season. Arne Slot has since filled the German manager's position, however, and the Daily Mail reports that Liverpool is willing to give Carvalho an earnest chance this summer.

"Yeah, that's the target," Carvalho told the Liverpool Echo in May about playing for Liverpool in preseason. "The way I see it, it's a fresh start. Not just for me, but obviously whoever comes in."

He added: "Obviously, I want to break into the Liverpool first-team squad, into the starting XI as well. For now, I'm focused on Hull City and getting promoted. I'm going to see how pre-season turns out and then we'll make a decision (on my future) after that."

Several notable buyers are still lurking after Carvalho, however, so here's a look at three possible transfer destinations...

Fulham
The Cottagers cruised to a second-straight season of survival in the English top flight and are now linked to a reunion with their former player. Carvalho spent seven years at Craven Cottage - graduating from Fulham's academy - and scored 10 goals during Fulham's promotion-winning campaign in 2021-22 before completing a move to Anfield.

Fulham's previous pursuit of Carvalho landed the London club in a recent bit of trouble, however, after entering into an illegal "heads of terms" agreement with local amateur side Balham to sign the Portuguese youth product. The club was issued a suspended six-month ban from registering academy players and a £75,000 ($96,000) fine in April.

Southampton
Southampton made its Premier League return at the first time of asking this past season, outlasting Leeds United 1-0 in the Championship play-off final to secure promotion in dramatic fashion. The Saints are in acute need of high-end talent to survive in the top flight, however, and are interested in Carvalho once again. Southampton was among the leading contenders to secure his loan signature this winter.

Leicester
The Foxes also eyed Carvalho during the mid-season window but earned a much less contentious trip back to the Premier League, winning the second tier with nearly 100 points. Leicester managed to boast a number of recognizable faces despite dipping out of the top flight, including Conor Coady, Ricardo Pereira, Jannik Vestergaard and Harry Winks, and the addition of Carvalho could make the Midlands squad instantly competitive this season.

Newcastle could target Fulham midfielder Andreas Pereira
Will there be a Bruno, Joelinton, and Andreas trifecta?

Newcastle United has shown interest in signing Fulham midfielder Andreas Pereira during this summer's transfer window, as reported by Pete O'Rourke on Football Insider's Inside Track podcast.

The Magpies have included Pereira among their top targets to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season, with the London-based talent ranking high in Eddie Howe's list.

The Brazil international is currently under contract with Fulham until 2026, with an option for an additional year. Pereira joined Fulham from Manchester United in 2022, where he had spent several years without securing a regular starting position.

Pereira's move to Fulham marked a significant step forward in his career as he was finally allowed to enjoy first-team opportunities and the chance to showcase his skills and put on breakout performances.

Pereira has shown a willingness to leave Fulham in pursuit of winning titles and playing more competitive football at the very least aiming at appearing in European competitions with whoever signs him. This has put Newcastle on alert, especially considering potential midfield departures and the club's goal of becoming a perennial continental powerhouse.

According to a report published on Football Insider on June 9, Newcastle might entertain bids for midfielder Sean Longstaff from Leicester City, which means they will miss one player at the position while also bagging a bit of money that could allow NUFC to land a replacement in a one-for-one move.

Howe and Newcastle's recruitment team are actively working to identify and secure new players to enhance their squad, and Pereira seems to fit the bill.

At Fulham, Pereira racked up 10 goal contributions in the Premier League last season, and he's made five apps with the Brazil national team. He scored his first-ever goal with the Canarinha earlier in June before the start of Copa America.

Throughout his career, Pereira has won honors while on loan in Brazil but he never won any title with Manchester United. Transfermarkt currently values him at around £17 million (€20 million).

Convincing Pereira that St. James' Park is the right place to achieve his goals might not be easy this summer with Newcastle missing on qualifying for any European competition last year. The Magpies, however, should rebound and clinch such a place in next season's Premier League, which might be enough to lure Pereira.

Report: Will Bayern Munich Finally Secure Fulham Star?

Joao Palhinha's Potential Move to Bayern Munich: A Strategic Acquisition?
Bayern's Transfer Pursuit
Bayern Munich is in hot pursuit of Fulham's midfield maestro, Joao Palhinha. The Bundesliga giants are eager to bolster their squad, eyeing Palhinha as a key addition. However, negotiations have hit a roadblock with Bayern's offer of £40 million falling significantly short of Fulham's valuation. Talks continue, with Palhinha expressing a keen interest in the move, report The Telegraph.

Fulham's Stance and Palhinha's Commitment
Fulham's reluctance to part ways with Palhinha for the proposed amount is understandable. The midfielder, who joined Fulham from Sporting CP for £17 million in 2022, has been pivotal for the club. His importance was underscored last summer when a £60 million move to Bayern collapsed on transfer deadline day, despite Palhinha having traveled to Munich for a medical. Subsequently, he signed a new deal with Fulham, committing until 2028, with an option for a further 12 months.

Alternative Targets for Bayern
If Bayern fails to secure Palhinha, they might shift their focus to other targets. Everton's Amadou Onana has been on their radar, with the 22-year-old Belgium international offering a younger option. Onana's performances have impressed Bayern's scouts, making him a viable alternative in defensive midfield.

Premier League Talent in Bayern's Sights
Bayern's interest in Premier League talent is not new. Recently, they appointed Vincent Kompany from Burnley as their new head coach, continuing their strategy of targeting Premier League players. This approach has seen them sign high-profile names like Harry Kane and Eric Dier. Moreover, Bayern is poised to secure Michael Olise from Crystal Palace, who chose Bayern over Chelsea and Manchester United due to the lure of Champions League football.

Conclusion
Bayern Munich's pursuit of Joao Palhinha highlights their strategic intent to strengthen their midfield. While Fulham's valuation poses a challenge, the ongoing negotiations reflect the player's desire to join the German champions. Whether Palhinha's transfer materializes or Bayern turns to alternatives like Amadou Onana, their focus on Premier League talent underscores a broader strategy aimed at competing at the highest level. Exclusive: £90,000-a-Week Star 'In Talks' Over Fulham Exit

Fulham are preparing to be without Willian for the upcoming campaign after the Brazilian has prioritised seeking a fresh challenge away from Craven Cottage.
The winger has entered conversations with a number of suitors in the aftermath of making the decision to leave west London at the end of his current agreement.
Willian could head to Saudi Arabia or the United States when he officially becomes a free agent in the coming days.

Fulham star Willian is on course to leave Craven Cottage as a free agent in the coming days as he has opened discussions with a number of suitors after setting his sights on embarking on a fresh challenge ahead of the fast-approaching new campaign, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.

Having already suffered the significant blow of central defender Tosin Adarabioyo joining neighbours Chelsea after snubbing several contract offers to remain with the Cottagers, boss Marco Silva is set to see another key man head through the exit door before members of his squad return for pre-season.

The Portuguese tactician has been holding internal conversations with vice-chairman and sporting director Tony Khan after putting plans in place to improve his options but, after also seeing striker Aleksandar Mitrovic leave in a £46million switch to Al-Hilal less than 12 months ago, Fulham could be forced into a summer rebuild amid ongoing doubts over Joao Palhinha's future as well.

Willian Prioritising Summer Move Away From Craven Cottage
Brazilian has entered talks with numerous admirers
Willian has made his final appearance in a Fulham shirt after choosing to prioritise looking at other options instead of signing a one-year contract extension in his current surroundings, according to GMS sources, and it has led to him being in talks with multiple clubs over a summer switch.

The former Brazil international's £90,000-per-week deal is due to expire on June 30 and, having decided that his future lies away from west London, the Cottagers have been forced to come to terms with the fact that they will see him walk away without being able to secure a fee for his services.

Alex Iwobi has found the back of the net six times over the course of 33 appearances after joining Fulham from Premier League rivals Everton last year, and the Nigeria international is in line to profit from Willian's departure by making the left-wing position his own unless Silva dips into the market for a replacement.

Willian's statistical averages per 90 minutes in the Premier League compared to Alex Iwobi
         Willian    Alex Iwobi
Shot-creating actions          5.36     3.47
Key passes          5.25     1.65
Shots          2.17     1.55
Shots on target          0.78     0.58
Goals          0.21     0.12
Assists          0.20     0.15
Statistics correct as of 26/06/2024

GMS sources have been informed that the Cottagers still have a good relationship with the 35-year-old despite preparing to head through the exit door, and members of the hierarchy and coaching staff respect his decision to look for a move ahead of the new season getting underway.

Willian, who has been described as 'immense' by former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard, is currently assessing his options and deciding where the perfect destination would be after a number of sides have been alerted to his availability as a free agent as preparations are made for the 2024/25 campaign.

Saudi Pro League and MLS are Potential Destinations for Willian
Winger poised to head overseas after leaving Cottagers
GMS sources have learned that Willian is the subject of interest from the big-spending Saudi Pro League and the United States' Major League Soccer, meaning he could be in line to bring the curtain down on his English top flight career after also enjoying spells with Chelsea and Arsenal before heading to Fulham.

Although the winger could follow in the footsteps of Mitrovic by taking advantage of a lucrative contract proposal from the Middle East, Al-Shabab are not among his admirers despite coming close to sealing a switch to the Prince Faisal Bin Fahd Stadium-based outfit last year.

Willian agreed terms with the club less than 12 months ago and asked for permission to seal the move, but Fulham refused to sanction his departure as the pursuit came a matter of weeks after he had penned an extension to his agreement and they were still frosty in the aftermath of losing Mitrovic to a Saudi Arabian side.

The South American, who was recently ranked by GMS as one of the top 11 Premier League players entering the final stages of their contract, is no longer on Al-Shabab's radar due to his age and their decision to prioritise landing a striker ahead of Vitor Pereira's first full season at the helm.

EURO 2024: SERBIA OUT BUT POSITIVES FOR SAŠA

Serbia's time in the European Championships has come to an end, but it was a promising performance for Saša Lukić in his first Euro tournament.

Clinching a point in a 0-0 draw with Denmark was not enough to persist Serbia's dreams of reaching the knockout stages, finishing fourth in Group C.

It is the first time the country has reached the Euros since their reconstitution in 2003, having previously competed as the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.

Battling hard in last night's draw against Denmark, Serbia managed to put the ball in the back of the net, but celebrations were short lived as the flag went up for offside.

Despite Serbia being unable to qualify for the Round of 16, it is hard to ignore Lukić's impact on his home nation's side.

Saša continues to look unfazed and focused on the big stage, playing in all three of Serbia's group games and racking up 212 minutes on the pitch.

Impressing against England in their tournament opener, Lukić became a mainstay in Serbia's starting Xl, playing 64 minutes in their 1-1 draw with Slovenia and 87 minutes against Denmark last night.

With the second highest pass accuracy in the Serbia team (95.7%), Saša showed his keen eye and clinical nature in midfield throughout the three games - something here at Fulham we have become accustomed to since he joined the Club in 2023.

His time with the national team may be over, but we are looking forward to Saša's return to Motspur Park next month for pre-season training.

Saša Lukić's Euro 2024 in numbers:

Pass Accuracy: 95.7%

Passes Completed: 142 out of 149

Distance Covered: 26.9km

Minutes Played: 212

Bayern Munich now want £70m Arsenal target after struggling to agree Joao Palhinha fee
Lucas Arnold

In what could prove to be something of a midfield merry-go-round this summer, Bayern Munich are now exploring a deal for a player linked with Arsenal.

If reports are to be believed, Mikel Arteta has made it very clear that he needs a new central midfielder in order to bridge the gap to Manchester City.

Although Thomas Partey was effective towards the end of the season, the 31-year-old has provided no reason to believe he can stay fit over a 38-game campaign.

Similarly, Jorginho doesn't seem to have the legs to play necessary minutes as Arsenal's starting number six, better suited to a squad role.

In that respect, some may point to Declan Rice, one of the best holding midfielders in world football.

But Arteta's plan to play Rice in a more advanced role is clear, meaning a new number six will be needed.

Fulham's Joao Palhinha was once thought to be the solution.

Palhinha was linked with a move to Arsenal in January, interest that has seemingly now cooled amid Bayern Munich's strong advances.

Bayern Munich want Arsenal target Amadou Onana after Joao Palhinha frustration
Although Bayern once seemed confident of landing a deal for Palhinha, they are now struggling to agree a fee with Fulham.

And Liverpool Echo are now reporting that Bayern have turned their attention to Everton's Amadou Onana as a result.

Onana has long been linked with Arsenal, someone who could thrive as the pivot of Arteta's midfield.

Although, if Bayern were struggling to agree a price with Fulham for Palhinha, they may have similar issues with Everton.

Arsenal were told they needed to pay £70m to sign Onana this summer – which may be why a move hasn't progressed.

Of course, in the midfield merry-go-round described, Arsenal may actually benefit from Bayern signing Onana after all.

If Vincent Kompany's side were able to sign Onana then he could be intended to replace Joshua Kimmich at Bayern.

And given that Kimmich would be keen to join Arsenal this summer, it could all fall into place – in an ideal world.

However, there's likely to be a lot more twists and turns before any of the moves mentioned can be finalised.

And you never know, the situation may even lead to Arteta revisiting a deal for Palhinha himself.

West Ham confirm signing of 'esteemed' ex Fulham and Rangers talent
West Ham continue to prepare for Julen Lopetegui's debut campaign at the London Stadium.

West Ham have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Wes Foderingham following his departure from Sheffield United as a free agent this summer.

The Hammers announced the news on Wednesday as a busy summer of transfer action continues at the London Stadium. Foderingham is expected to provide back-up for Alphonse Areola and Lukas Fabianski as he comes to work under Julen Lopetegui.

The news comes with 25-year-old academy product Nathan Trott expected to complete a switch to FC Copenhagen in the coming weeks. Trott has spent the last two seasons on loan at Danish side Vejle.

Foderingham arrives at West Ham with a wealth of experience to his name. The 33-year-old made 30 top flight appearances for the Blades last season and was a key part of the side that secured Championship promotion in 2023.

The shot-stopper started his career in the Fulham youth academy and spent a decade working his way up through the ranks at Craven Cottage before moving to Crystal Palace in 2010. Foderingham never made a first team appearance for those London clubs, being sent on loan spells, before then moving to Swindon Town in 2012.

As he put pen to paper on a two-year deal at West Ham, Foderingham said: "It feels brilliant to be a Hammer! As soon as I heard of the interest, it was something that I was keen to get sorted and get done and I'm just delighted to be here.

Fulham 'studying possibility' of placing bid for winger – €20m player had impressive season
Fulham are the latest club to be linked with Vitória Guimarães star Jota Silva.

Guimarães Digital today writes that the Whites are 'studying the possibility' of making a bid for the winger.

It's said that Silva, who was recently linked to West Ham United, has 'never hidden the desire' to move to the Premier League, having ruled out approaches from Saudi Arabia.

Fulham then stand out as a potential destination for him. It's said they're analysing the situation, and João Palhinha's sale could leave them in a more comfortable position to make the investment.

Silva has already rejoined Vitória Guimarães' squad for the next season, and the report claims that any movements are only expected to happen in the first weeks of July, as the market still seems cold during the Euros.

The winger stood out in Portugal last season with 15 goals and seven assists in 42 appearances. Still, that was not enough for him to be part of the national team squad. Local reports claim he has a release clause worth €20m, so Fulham can surely afford that, probably even before Palhinha's sale.

Leeds United and Fulham 'check on' former Tottenham Hotspur man as West Ham 'enquire'
Leeds United are reportedly among the clubs checking on out-of-contract Tottenham Hotspur defender Ryan Sessegnon.

The 24-year-old joined Tottenham in 2019 after bursting on to the scene with Fulham, but is seeking pastures new having failed to establish himself as a first-team regular.

According to HITC, Leeds are among the clubs keeping tabs on the attack-minded full-back as he looks to secure a new home for the 2024/25 season. Junior Firpo held down the fort at left-back for the Whites last season, with Sam Byram acting as a deputy.

Byram, however, is a right-back by trade and few would question Leeds if they went looking for depth in the position next season. Sessegnon would arguably be a significant coup, considering he has already shone at Championship level with Fulham.

West Ham United are said to have made enquiries about landing Sessegnon, while a host of other clubs are reportedly monitoring the former England youth international.

Fulham have been credited with interest, as have a range of sides in Europe including Fenerbahce, Real Betis and Como. Rangers have also been reported to be an interested party.

Fulham Make First Contact to Sign £40m Star

Arsenal could offload Emile Smith Rowe to Fulham for funds towards first-team quality, with first contact being made between the clubs.
Smith Rowe could be on the move due to a lack of game time at Arsenal.
Fulham are interested but Arsenal's asking price may not align with their current budget.

Arsenal could be set for a flurry of sales in the summer as they look to add first-team quality to their title-chasing side - and that could include Emile Smith Rowe, with GIVEMESPORT sources suggesting that the Gunners may offload their academy product to Fulham after a lack of game time.

Arsenal went perilously close to the Premier League title once again under Mikel Arteta last season, with the Spaniard overseeing a charge that saaw them miss out on the league title to Manchester City by just two points in what was a strong bid for the trophy. Recruitments to take them to the next level will be needed in the summer window, and that could oversee an exodus of their current crop - including Smith Rowe.

Fulham Want Smith Rowe as Key Midfielder
The Cottagers are keen on midfield reinforcements
Reports earlier in the window had linked Smith Rowe with a move away to Fulham after his less-than-desirable season for the Gunners last time out. The London-born star is thought to be a summer target for the west London outfit, and he could move after making just three Premier League starts for the Gunners after an injury-hit campaign.

Whether Arteta would be content with his departure is yet to be seen, having nurtured Smith Rowe through the ranks after he burst onto the scene back in 2021/22 - but with Arsenal progressing to potential title-winning candidates, he has lost his way in recent seasons and that could contribute to his exit.

Sources: Fulham Have Made Contact With Arsenal
Fulham have set their stall out for the summer
GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed that the first contacts are now being made from Fulham to Arsenal over the potential capture of Smith Rowe - with the Cottagers aiming to strengthen their ranks ahead of a huge summer swoop.

The Arsenal man is available after a lack of game time at the Emirates Stadium last season, though it will take £35million to prise him away from north London at this point in the window, with Arsenal thought to be wanting a fee of £40m for his services in the coming weeks.

Fulham are interested, and have touched base with the Gunners about a potential deal but they value him at £25million. As such, it's unlikely that the two will see eye-to-eye on a deal for the foreseeable future, but they are in a strong position to hold out for a higher fee, with Smith Rowe not having an obvious role in the Arsenal squad going forwards.

Marco Silva's men are considering their options for the upcoming window, with Joao Palhinha, Willian, Bobby Decordova-Reid and Andreas Pereira all being linked with moves away from Craven Cottage - and whilst a defensive midfielder is key to their plans, they're still holding out for a fee of £60million for Palhinha from Bayern Munich, which could end up reaching £55m once a decision is made.

Emile Smith Rowe's Premier League statistics - Arsenal squad ranking
Stats         Output      Squad rank
Appearances          13      19th
Dribbles Per Game           0.2      =13th
Shots Per Game           1.2      9th
Pass Completion Per Game            88.6      12th
Match rating            6.35       20th

Elsewhere, Crystal Palace, Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham United are all interested in Smith Rowe to varying levels of interest, but they will wait to see how the situation unfolds, as they are all unlikely to want to pay the asking price in any case.

Palace are putting out a lot of field calls at the moment, with Michael Olise all but through the exit door with Bayern Munich securing his services, with the south London club wanting new creative options at good value.

Smith Rowe Could Find Feet at Fulham
The midfielder has had a rough time in recent times
Smith Rowe evidently has talent. He showcased that for Arsenal when they started to become Champions League contenders under Arteta, which resulted in an England call-up and his first international goal for the Three Lions.

He's fallen slightly off the beaten track in recent months, but a move to Fulham could revitalise his career away from the Arsenal limelight - and at a progressive club like Fulham, he could become the star of the side.

Talks ongoing for Arsenal 23yo as Fulham & Palace show interest
Talks are ongoing for Arsenal's Emile Smith Rowe amid interest from the Premier League and abroad, with the player preferring to stay in England.

Charles Watts reports that a final decision on Emile Smith Rowe's future hasn't yet been taken, but discussions are ongoing with an acceptance on the player's side that he needs a transfer.

Watts confirms that there's interest in Smith Rowe from the Premier League, Germany, and Italy, with Fulham among the English clubs in the mix.

As for the player's preference, Watts claims the midfielder wants to stay in the Premier League.

Football insider Team News and Ticks reports in a Patreon post that Fulham have made contact with Arsenal about Smith Rowe, and that Crystal Palace have done the same.

The Gunners are looking to bring in more than £40m for a sale, which could prove problematic for those interested parties.

Smith Rowe is currently in training with a few other Arsenal players and Mikel Arteta in Marbella, in a sort of unofficial early pre-season.

The 23-year-old reportedly arrived early for the mini training camp, clearly keen to be prepared for the new campaign.

James McNicholas recently reported for The Athletic that Smith Rowe is contemplating his future, with the upside of a sale being that Arsenal can record his transfer as "pure profit" in PSR terms, giving them some financial flexibility in the market.

The Telegraph reported earlier this month that Fulham have made Smith Rowe a priority signing for the summer window, and they're ready to make an early bid for the midfielder. It seems they've now made contact with Arsenal.

The England international made 19 appearances for Arsenal this season.

Arsenal midfield transfer plan takes major twist as Bayern Munich fail to secure Fulham deal
Everton star Amadou Onana has been linked with a move to Arsenal this summer as the Gunners look to bolster their midfield department

Bayern Munich are weighing up a move for Arsenal target Amadou Onana as they struggle to agree a fee with Fulham for Joao Palhinha.

The Gunners are keen to bolster their midfield ranks this summer to ensure they have enough depth to compete in all competitions, including the Premier League and Champions League next season. Thomas Partey could leave Arsenal, too, meaning the need for another midfielder would be more prominent if he is sold.

And Onana has emerged as someone that the Gunners could sign this summer. The Belgium international has been linked with a move away from Everton as they look to raise funds to improve their financial situation. Manchester United and Arsenal are among those interested in his services.

And now, Bayern Munich have firmly joined the race. According to the Liverpool ECHO, Bayern are considering making a move for Onana if they cannot agree a deal to sign Palhinha. New Bayern boss Vincent Kompany is an admirer of his fellow Belgian and could be a cheaper, more realistic option.

Onana joined Everton from Lille for £33million plus add-ons in August 2022. He made 35 appearances in all competitions during his maiden campaign at Goodison Park, impressing which sparked interest from other clubs last summer. He stayed put, however, and continued to shine under Sean Dyche last term.

Speaking back in February, his agent revealed the Belgian rejected a move away from Everton in the January transfer window. "We could have left this winter," said Melissa Onana. "But we once again sat down and asked the question whether it's the right time, if the player is ready. My job is to put opportunities on the table.

"In the end, he's the one who makes the choice because it's his life and his career. I put the opportunities on the table and he said 'No, I want to stay at Everton and I want to continue to fight'."

Last month, Onana then opened up on his future and admitted playing for a "top club" is something he strives for. In an interview with Het Laatste Nieuws, Onana said: "At previous tournaments you have seen that the players who did well make the step up to the top clubs. That's something I strive for.
