USMNT stars from Crystal Palace and Fulham criticized after Copa America failure
The United States is hosting the 2024 Copa America. Still, their national team failed to qualify for the knockout stages after their 1-0 loss to Uruguay, combined with the 3-1 Panama victory over Bolivia.

During the group stage play, the US defeated Bolivia but lost to Panama and Uruguay. The Stars and Stripes have players playing in the best leagues, such as Antonee Robinson, Tim Ream, Tyler Adams, and Chris Richards, who are in the Premier League.

Still, it wasn't enough despite being one of the favorites to advance. After the elimination on Monday night, FOX Soccer pundit Alexi Lalas slammed the players even though some play in top European leagues.

"If this is as good as it gets, it's not good enough," Lalas said postgame on FS1. "And there's plenty of excuses, but they don't matter. You can talk about opportunities. We have players that are playing all over the world. Talk about playing in Europe. Well, the entire team that you saw out there plays in Europe, so it's not MLS' fault. You can talk about the pathways and the resources that they have. No generation has been given more, and yet this generation hasn't lived up to that bargain."

The US will only have the 2025 Gold Cup before hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup, so the showing at the Copa America stings more, considering the competition at the CONMEBOL tournament is vastly superior to what they'll encounter playing CONCACAF national teams.

'Very confident' Euro 2024 defender sold by Celtic now interesting West Ham and Fulham
HITC understands that Scottish defender Jack Hendry is attracting interest from a number of Premier League clubs, as well as teams from the Saudi Pro League.

The 2024 European Championships was not a good time for Scottish defender Jack Hendry as Steve Clarke's men were eliminated from the competition in Germany at the hands of Hungary, thanks to a last minute goal.

Hendry moved to Saudi Arabia last summer from Belgian side Club Brugge when he joined Steven Gerrard's Al-Ettifaq.

The 29-year-old Scotsman, who previously had a spell at Celtic before being sold in 2021, was one of the most impressive players for Ettifaq as they enjoyed the second best defensive record in the division, conceding just 34 times in 48 games.

Hendry attracting Premier League interest
He was also the only foreign player to play every single minute and it was his impressive performances that brought him to the attention of some of the PIF owned clubs, particularly Al-Nassr and Al-Ittihad, both of whom are understood to be looking the Scottish central defender.

As well as this, there is also understood to be interest from the Premier League and HITC can reveal that Fulham, Leicester City and West Ham United are some of the sides who are understood to be taking a look at the experienced defender.

As mentioned, despite the struggles of his national side at Euro 2024, Hendry was perhaps one of a few players who came away from the tournament with some praise as he started in all three games for his national team.

Hendry could be a smart signing for these Premier League clubs
Hendry was once praised for performing very well during the 1-1 draw between Club Brugge and Paris-Saint Germain as the Scottish Champions dealt with the threat of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar very well.

Former Scotland manager Alex McCleish was also very complimentary of the defender after his side's 1-0 win over Hungary in 2018.

"Scott McKenna was amazing tonight. He had a really strong game," McLeish told BBC Scotland. "He has had two excellent games and was even better tonight.

"I thought big Jack was very cool and calm and very confident."

Hendry once said playing against the likes of Mbappe gives him 'great confidence' and a move to the Premier League could well be on the cards this summer.

Hull City must push for Jay Stansfield after Southampton, Man City transfer claim: View

Southampton enters the race for Liam Delap, complicating Hull City's potential loan deal.
Hull City considers Fulham's Jay Stansfield as an alternative striker option.
Stansfield's impressive 2023/24 Championship stats make him a strong potential signing for Hull City.

One player who certainly caught the eye for Hull City during the 2023/24 campaign, was Liam Delap.
Last summer, the striker had joined the Tigers on a season-long loan deal from Premier League champions Manchester City.

That came after he had endured two somewhat underwhelming spells on loan with other clubs in the Championship, in the form of Stoke City and Preston North End.

During his time with those two clubs, Delap scored just four goals in 38 appearances across all competitions.

However, the 21-year-old did produce an improved return for Hull City, with eight goals and two assists in a total of 32 outings for the club.

Despite that, it now looks as though the Tigers face an uphill battle, if they want to bring the attacker back to the MKM Stadium for next season.

Southampton enter Liam Delap transfer chase
According to a recent report by journalist Alan Nixon, newly promoted Premier League side Southampton are now keen to sign Delap this summer.

It is suggested that Hull are keen to re-sign the forward on loan for this season, but also that Manchester City are willing to sell for a fee of £10million.

Southampton's interest could therefore be a problem for the Tigers. The windfall they will receive from their promotion means they should be able to afford this deal from a financial standpoint.

Meanwhile, having now had several spells in the Championship, Delap may relish the chance to finally show what he can do in the Premier League with a move to Southampton.

As a result, it could be argued that amid this emerging interest in the Manchester City man, Hull must be ready to move for another Premier League striker that they have already been linked with this summer.

Fulham man a Liam Delap alternative for Hull City
If Southampton are to sign Delap, then it is likely that Hull themselves will have to find another striker to lead their line, and they may have already identified a strong option for that role.

Last month, it was reported that the Tigers are interested in signing Fulham striker Jay Stansfield this summer, despite suggestions that Marco Silva may be keen to keep him at Craven Cottage for the time being.

Even so, with a move for Delap now looking trickier to do, the Tigers should surely now be pushing to try and make this move happen.

Stansfield enjoyed an impressive campaign in the Championship on loan at Birmingham City last season.

Despite the Blues' relegation, he still scored 13 goals and provided three assists in 47 appearances in all competitions and was one of the few players to emerge from that campaign with any credit.

As a result, playing in a Hull side that will be aiming further up the table - having finished just three points adrift of the play-offs last season - could being even more out of the 21-year-old.

Just as Delap is capable of, Stansfield also found himself playing out wide at times for Birmingham, so he could do a similar job for the Tigers to what the Manchester City man did.

With three years remaining on his contract at Fulham, the Cottagers are not at risk of losing him cheaply or on a free further down the line, by loaning him out this summer either.

Meanwhile, with Raul Jimenez, Rodrigo Muniz and Carlos Vinicius all currently on the books at Craven Cottage, it appears that Silva's side would not be short on options at centre forward for next season as things stand, even if they were to let Stansfield go for the coming campaign.

Indeed, with that competition for places, the 21-year-old may struggle for regular football if he stays where he is next season, meaning he could benefit more from a loan stint at a club somewhere such as Hull, where he can get more experience and chance to develop with more game time.

It seems therefore, that as Southampton weigh up a move for Delap this summer, Hull must be ready to make their case to Fulham about a deal for Stansfield to fill the void left by the Manchester City man.

Belgium beaten by late own goal
Fulham full back Timothy Castagne played 88 minutes as Belgium were cruelly eliminated from the European Championships after a late Jan Vertonghen own goal.

Belgium held France for 85 minutes of an absorbing last sixteen tie in Dussledorf with Castagne – so impressive during his first season at Craven Cottage – delivering a strong display at right back and helping to shackle the main French dangerman in Kylian Mbappe. The breakthrough came when French substitute Kolo Muani's shot deflected off the unfortunate Vertonghen and past a helpless Koen Casteels.

France will play either Portugal or Slovenia in the last eight.

Portugal progress on penalties
Fulham's Joao Palhinha played the whole 120 minutes as Portugal reached the quarter finals of the European Champions on penalties after a goalless draw with Slovenia in Frankfurt this evening.

Palhinha – the subject of continued speculation about a move to Bayern Munich this summer – made a number of trademark tackles in the first half but Portugal struggled to break down a stubborn Slovenian side. Skipper Cristiano Ronaldo was left in floods of tears after seeing his penalty that would have won the match superbly saved by Slovenian goalkeeper Jan Oblak – and Portugal were grateful that Benjamin Sesko failed to convert two one-on-one opportunities at the other end.

Portugal progressed after their goalkeeper Diego Costa made three stunning saves at the start of the penalty shoot out, leaving Bernardo Silva to score the decisive spot-kick. Portugal's shoot-out success sets up a mouthwatering meeting with France in Hamburg on Friday.

USA crash out of Copa America
The United States have exited the Copa America at the group stage after being beaten 1-0 by Uruguay at Arrowhead Stadium overnight.

Fulham duo Tim Ream and Antonee Robinson both started the crucial fixture but the Americans delivered a disjointed display – with Mathias Olivera grabbing the decisive goal midway through the second half. USA manager Gregg Berhalter has insisted he is the right man to lead the side to their home World Cup in two years time, although US Soccer's sporting director suggested that the performance 'fell short of our expectations'.

Euro 2024: Penalty Joy For João

João Palhinha's Portugal booked their spot in the European Championship Quarter-Finals with a penalty shootout victory over Slovenia on Monday night.

It was a third successive start for Palhinha in Frankfurt, and an impressive display in the centre of midfield saw him end up playing all 120 minutes.

Portugal struggled to create good chances against a disciplined and gutsy Slovenia side, with Palhinha going closest to a breakthrough in the first half when his low strike from the edge of the D kissed the outside of the post in stoppage time.

Cristiano Ronaldo had a couple of chances but was denied by Jan Oblak each time, while at the other end Benjamin Sesko dragged a good chance wide, meaning extra-time was needed.

Ronaldo had a golden opportunity in the first half of extra-time when Diogo Jota was fouled in the area, but the Portugal captain saw his penalty brilliantly saved by Oblak.

It looked like that might cost Portugal dearly when Sesko took advantage of a Pepe mistake in the second period to burst through one-on-one, but Diogo Costa made a crucial save to take the tie to penalties.

That was a sign of things to come, with the Porto goalkeeper saving all three of Slovenia's kicks to book his side's place in the Quarters, where they will face France on Friday night.

Timothy Castagne's Euros came to a cruel end when a late Jan Vertonghen own goal earned France a 1-0 win in Dusseldorf.

In a game that lacked an abundance of quality moments, Kevin De Bruyne drew a save from a first half free-kick, before Marcus Thuram headed over at the other end when he should have done better.

In the second half, Koen Casteels had to react well to keep out Aurélien Tchouaméni's deflected strike, but there was nothing he could do in the 85th minute to keep out Randal Kolo Muani's effort as it hit Vertonghen on its way through to leave the Belgium goalkeeper helpless.

Castagne was his usual reliable self at right-back but was then sacrificed for Charles De Ketelaere as Belgium looked for an equaliser, which was not forthcoming unfortunately.

Club working to make big sale with Fulham and West Ham target – Negotiating percentages for bigger fee
As many clubs, including Fulham and West Ham United, have recently been linked to Vitória Guimarães' Jota Silva, it seems the Portuguese side are trying to make the most of it all.

An initial story from A Bola first reported that the club are in talks with his former side Casa Pia to have a bigger percentage of the sale.

Vitória Guimarães are only getting 70% of the transfer, and their idea is to buy the other 30% before Silva is involved in a move this summer.

Newspaper Record recalls that Casa Pia gave up 70% of the player's future rights for €290k when they first sold him. Now they're pushing hard to get much more than that for the remaining percentage.

The outlet points out that Vitória Guimarães are expected to sell Silva for between €15m and €20m. This time, they mention West Ham United, but not Fulham.

West Ham were probably the club with the strongest links, with A Bola claiming the interest from the Hammers 'is real'.

The Whites' interest in the player was revealed last week, when it was claimed that they've been 'studying the possibility' of placing a bid for the player.

What Fulham think Marco Silva will do if Al-Ittihad approach to appoint him this summer
Fulham's summer could take a severe turn with their manager Marco Silva of potential interest to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad.

The Cottagers have had a fairly underwhelming start to the summer with no new players coming through the doors yet.

Tosin Adarabioyo also departed the club despite multiple attempts to keep him at Craven Cottage with a new improved.

TBR Football understands that Fulham are sweating over the future of manager Marco Silva as he is once again attracting interest from the Saudi Pro League.

Fulham left sweating over future of Marco Silva
Al-Ittihad – who have parted company with Marcelo Gallardo – are looking at options and Silva is somewhere who has attracted interest previously from the Saudi Pro League.

Silva was an option considered by West Ham this summer, but they were put off by the price of his release clause which is understood to be around £10million – something which would not deter interest from Saudi.

Silva has just celebrated three-years at Craven Cottage and TBR understands Fulham are confident he will rebuff any interest from Saudi.

Former AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli and former Porto boss Sergio Conceicao are also understood to be contenders for the role.

Losing Marco Silva would cause Fulham a huge headache
Not a lot of Premier League clubs have found themselves massively busy this summer when it comes to players arriving at their doors.

However, it is now July and focus will be turning on to pre-season preparations with managers looking to instil their philosophy on their players.

If Silva was to leave Fulham this summer, it would not only leave them without any new signings but would also put any plans in place to an end.

A new manager in the dugout would likely bring his own plans for the summer window and also be left with not a huge amount of time to prepare his side for the new campaign.

Fulham may well be confident of Silva batting away interest from Saudi, but the money on offer from the Middle East may prove incredibly difficult to turn away.

Copa América: Tournament Over For USA
The United States are out of Copa América 2024 after a 1-0 defeat by Uruguay in their final Group C match in Missouri on Monday night.

They almost went behind shortly after the half hour mark when the referee let a quick free-kick continue despite the fact that he was still in the process of booking Crystal Palace defender Chris Richards for the foul, but Ream was alert to hook Nahitan Nandez's shot away before it reached the goal.

The decisive moment arrived 20 minutes into the second half. Matt Turner did well to keep out an initial header from a wide free-kick, but Mathias Olivera reacted quickest to turn home the rebound. Replays suggested the defender had strayed into an offside position, but VAR deemed that he was just about level when the initial header came in.

In the 74th minute, a laser pass from Ream released his club teammate Antonee Robinson down the left flank. The goalkeeper raced out to get a glove on the ball but the States regained possession, with Christian Pulisic eventually seeing his deflected shot headed off the line.

Even if they had managed to find an equaliser, it still would have been a third place finish for the USMNT, with Panama winning 3-1 against Bolivia in the other Group C match to take the runners-up spot.

What Fulham have told Bayern Munich about potential £50 million Joao Palhinha transfer this summer
HITC understands that Fulham are standing firm on their Joao Palhinha valuation amid continued interest from Bayern Munich.

We reported last month that Bayern Munich were confident of getting a deal over the line for Portuguese midfielder Joao Palhinha, who has been key for Portugal at Euro 2024.

Palhinha was close to a move to Bayern last summer after Ryan Gravenberch's transfer to Liverpool but a deal for the former Sporting Lisbon midfielder never materialised.

Under new manager Vincent Kompany, who managed Burnley last season, the Bavarian giants are understood to still be keen on Palhinha and sources have told HITC that the feeling is mutual.

Palhinha makes feelings clear over Bayern move this summer
Sources have told HITC that the Portuguese midfielder has made it clear to Fulham's hierarchy that a move to Bavaria is what he wants this summer.

HITC understands that Fulham are standing firm over their valuation of Palhinha and are determined not to drop under £50million for the Portuguese star.

Bayern are understood to have already made three bids for the Portuguese star with the latest being around £40 million, which is still £10 million short of the Cottagers valuation of the midfielder, who has been key for Marco Silva's side for multiple seasons.

Last season for the West London club, Palhinha featured in 33 Premier League games, scoring four goals and providing one assist in England's top divison.

Following Portugual's win over Slovenia on penalties, thanks to a magnificent performance from FC Porto's Diogo Costa, Palhinha was awarded a 7/10 by outlet A Bola who described the 28-year-old's performance as 'effective and simple'.

Palhinha's move to Bayern not progressing
HITC understands talks have continued between the two clubs, but a deal is not thought to be close at this moment in time.

For Bayern, the German side are currently busy in the market at present as they are also continuing talks with Bayer Leverkusen over a deal for Jonathan Tah.

Tah was superb for Xabi Alonso's Leverkusen last season as the German side romped to the Bundesliga title as they completed an entire league campaign unbeaten but the defender could be set for a move to Munich this summer.

West Ham and Everton in talks for 19-goal star as Southampton hope £20m is enough
Southampton are £10 million short of the fee Celtic want for Matt O'Riley with Premier League rivals West Ham United, Everton, Fulham and Brentford having held talks with the Denmark international.

HITC understands that Celtic, if they are to cash in on their Player of the Year, want a fee that would make Matt O'Riley the club's all-time most expensive export

Portuguese winger Jota currently holds that place in the Hoops history books. The former Benfica man left for Saudi Arabia in a deal worth around £25 million last summer.

Celtic are now holding out for £30 million for O'Riley.

And HITC have been told that Southampton and the Scottish Premiership champions remain around £10 million apart in their valuation of the talented playmaker, with the newly-promoted Saints hoping to secure O'Riley's services for closer to £20 million.

There is no shortage of interest elsewhere in England's top flight.

West Ham United, Everton and Brentford have all held talks. So too have a Fulham side with whom O'Riley stated his career. The Hounslow-born schemer joined The Cottagers' academy back in 2009 but made only five first-team appearances before joining MK Dons over a decade later.

O'Riley, then, may potentially feel he has unfinished business at Fulham.

Southampton face West Ham battle for Matt O'Riley
Southampton, meanwhile, will be hoping the Russell Martin factor works in their favour.

Martin, the man who guided The Saints to play-off final glory over Leeds at Wembley, worked with O'Riley at MK Dons and made no secret of his desire to reunite with the 23-year-old during his time in the Swansea City dugout.

"Wow. What a technician," Martin told Sky Sports, recalling the first day he saw O'Riley in action.

"He was incredible. We played Spurs in pre-season and he was outstanding against them. We went and played at Rochdale on a Tuesday night. It was freezing and the pitch was an ice rink, but Matt put on a masterclass.

"Myself and my staff left for Swansea and we tried to bring him there. It was a very sad moment for me when the deal we tried to do fell down. But then he went to Celtic and he's just kept on progressing. And I'm not surprised.

"It's his mentality that sets him apart. He's supremely confident and a super pro; his diet is spot on, and he's really athletic, more than he is given credit for. He's got everything to play at the top – for Denmark and in the Premier League."

Celtic want £30m for former Fulham youngster
Southampton's interest, meanwhile, long precedes Martin's arrival at St Mary's. Southampton were keen back in January 2022, when Celtic won the race to the tune of a bargain £1.5 million. The Glasgow giants are now in line for a massive profit.

If the play-off champions are to avoid lightning striking twice, they may have to put their money where their mouth is and stump up closer to the £30 million fee Brendan Rodgers' side want.

Interestingly, HITC understands that Southampton have agreed a £3 million deal for another of Martin's former favourites; the highly-rated Swans centre-back Nathan Wood. Ronnie Edwards of Peterborough United is also arriving for the same fee.

Sources have also told HITC there is also interest in O'Riley from Atalanta, Monaco, Lyon and an Atletico Madrid side who attempted to sign O'Riley in January, shortly after his sparkling display against Diego Simeone's side in the Champions League group-stages.

O'Riley ended 2023/24 with a staggering 19 goals and 18 assists in all competitions.

It was a major surprise, then, when he was left out of Denmark's squad for Euro 2024 despite manager Kasper Hjulmand lauding his progress.

Fulham update emerges as Liverpool and Chelsea make contact for Leeds United ace Crysencio Summerville
Fulham have lost out to PSG, Liverpool and Chelsea in the race to secure the services of Leeds United attacker Crysencio Summerville, according to De Telegraaf.

The Dutch news outlet reported on 2 July that Fulham were keen on the 22-year-old, but with Liverpool and Chelsea already making contact by enquiring about the Dutchman, they're now unlikely to sign him.

PSG have gone a step further and have even opened talks with the agents of Summerville over a potential transfer.

Leeds United must spark a bidding war for Crysencio Summerville
Leeds United must spark a bidding war for Summerville to maximise their financial gain from his potential transfer.

Summerville's impressive performances have attracted interest from several top clubs, including PSG, Liverpool and Chelsea.

This interest indicates that there is a strong market for the player, which Leeds should leverage to their advantage.

By encouraging a bidding war, the Whites can drive up the 22-year-old's transfer fee, potentially securing a significant financial windfall.

This influx of funds could be crucial for the club's financial stability and future investments in the squad.

Moreover, a bidding war would also demonstrate the high value placed on Summerville by other clubs, which could help Leeds negotiate better terms for the player's departure which could include securing a sell-on clause or a loan-back agreement as well.

Burnley in advanced talks to appoint ex-Fulham boss Scott Parker – sources
Burnley are in advanced talks to appoint former Fulham boss Scott Parker as their next manager, sources have told Football Insider.

The Clarets are hoping to wrap up the appointment and make an announcement by the weekend.

Burnley are preparing for life back in the Championship after suffering relegation from the Premier League under Vincent Kompany last season.

Kompany then left Turf Moor to join Bayern Munich at the end of May, just days after the conclusion of the 2023-24 campaign.

Football Insider revealed last month (15 June) that ex-Chelsea boss Frank Lampard and West Brom manager Carlos Corberan have been interviewed about the role.

Parker has been out of work since leaving Club Brugge in March 2023 after just 12 matches in charge.

Parker set to take Burnley hot seat after Lampard and Corberan interviews
The former England midfielder is an experienced operator in the Championship, achieving promotion with both Fulham and Bournemouth.

He led the Cherries to a second-place finish in the 2020-21 campaign and led Fulham to play-off glory in the 2019-20 season.

Parker has won 48 of his 92 matches in charge of second-tier games, amassing 1.84 points per match.

Burnley have allowed Bailey Peacock-Farrell, Charlie Taylor, Jack Cork and Johann Berg Gudmundsson to leave the club so far this summer.

The Clarets kick off their 2024-25 campaign against Luton Town on 12 August.

West Ham, Fulham and Wolves sending officials to Euro 2024 tonight for €35m defender
There's a claim in the Turkish media, West Ham United, Fulham and Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in Fenerbahce defender Ferdi Kadıoğlu.

The left back has impressed so far for Turkey during this summers' Euros and has been linked with a move to Arsenal in recent weeks.

Milat Gazetesi today report Kadıoğlu is on the radar of a number of big European clubs following his form with Fenerbahce and his country.

It's claimed English clubs will be attendance for Turkey's clash with Austria tonight, which include West Ham, Fulham and Wolves. Arsenal will also continue to monitor him in Leipzig.

According to the Turkish media outlet, Borussia Dortmund, Stuttgart and Bayer Leverkusen will also be sending scouts to the game, along with Atletico Madrid and Valencia.

There have been reports of an offer from Borussia Dortmund for the 24 year old, but this was rejected by the Super Lig club. It's reported Fenerbahce will not sell Kadıoğlu for below €35m, which would be a transfer record for a player being transferred from the Super Lig.

Kadıoğlu made 41 appearances for Fenerbahce last season, scoring 3 goals. He's contracted to the Istanbul club until June 2026.

Fulham next £40m transfer could be for Man Utd midfield bagsman
The Cottagers may have chosen their ideal midfield replacement should Joao Palhinha finally complete a move to Bayern Munich.

Fulham have 'upped the ante' in their transfer pursuit of Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay this summer as Joao Palhinha continues to push for a Bayern Munich switch.

The Cottagers could be left needing to recruit a defensive midfielder as a priority this summer should Palhinha quit the club for the German giants. Bayern Munich almost sealed a deal with Fulham for the 28-year-old last summer but that collapsed with the London club unable to find a replacement in time.

Palhinha got his head down and enjoyed an impressive season in west London but is now subject of multiple renewed bids from Bayern Munich. The player himself has hinted at his desire to finally make the move, "As far as my future is concerned, both clubs know where I want to be in a month," he hinted while on Euro 2024 duty.

Marco Silva's side appear to be actively in the market for Palhinha's replacement with GIVEMESPORT reporting that the club have started exploring a potential deal for McTominay with Manchester United. The Scotland international almost completed a £40 million move to the capital last year with West Ham seriously interested.

Speaking about that failed deal, David Moyes recently told BBC Sport: "Lots of managers have hard luck stories about players that get away and McTominay is one of those for me because I tried to sign him for West Ham last summer.

"It was always going to be hard to replace Declan Rice with any one player when he joined Arsenal, and we were not planning to do that - we wanted to bring in a couple of midfielders instead. He is a good all-round midfielder, but to me his best attributes are arriving in the area, or the edges of it, at the right time to score or make some chances.

Appointment of Euro 2024 manager could help Burnley keep hold of Fulham-linked winger: View

Burnley seeks new manager, considering Denmark's Kasper Hjulmand.
Hjulmand's appointment could help sign winger Jacob Bruun Larsen.
Larsen's international manager, Hjulmand, may convince him to return to Burnley.

Burnley are preparing for life back in the Championship after their relegation from the Premier League.
The Clarets were only promoted to the Premier League after winning the Championship title in the 2022-23 season, but they were relegated after an incredibly disappointing campaign in which they won just five games and accumulated a total of 24 points.

Despite Burnley's struggles in the top flight, manager Vincent Kompany made a shock move to German giants Bayern Munich last month, and the Lancashire outfit are still searching for his replacement.

Craig Bellamy has been appointed as acting head coach, and he is said to be under consideration for the permanent job, while a host of other managers have been linked with the role, including Scott Parker, Frank Lampard, Liam Rosenior,Marti Cifuentes, Carlos Corberan, Alan Pardew, Steve Bruce and Thierry Henry.

A new name came into the frame on Monday, with HITC claiming that the Clarets are hoping to appoint Denmark manager Kasper Hjulmand as their new boss.

Hjulmand has been in charge of the Danish national team since August 2020, and his most notable achievement came when he led his side to the semi-finals of Euro 2020, where they were beaten by England.

Kasper Hjulmand's record as Denmark manager (according to Transfermarkt)
Games      Won      Drawn      Lost      Win percentage
54      32      8      14      59.3
The 52-year-old guided Denmark out of their group in Euro 2024 as they finished in second place behind England, but they exited the tournament after being beaten 2-0 by Germany on Saturday night, and that could prove to be his last game in charge if he decides to make the move to Turf Moor.

Kasper Hjulmand would be a gamble worth taking for Burnley
Hjulmand has established himself as a recognisable figure on the international stage in recent years, and although he would be a risk, he would be an exciting appointment for Burnley.

While Hjulmand has been out of club management for five years, he has previously had spells in charge of Nordsjaelland and Mainz, and he was linked with the Aston Villa job in November 2021 following the sacking of Dean Smith, but he ruled himself out of the running, stating that he was committed to his role with Denmark.

Denmark did not win a game during Euro 2024, but it was another creditable performance from Hjulmand's side in a major tournament, and they were unlucky to be eliminated from the tournament on Saturday night, with Germany benefitting from some questionable refereeing decisions.

A lack of goals was Denmark's main problem, but they did look a threat, particularly in the game against England during the group stages, and they were incredibly well-organised defensively.

Hjulmand could be the man to lead Burnley back to the Premier League next season, and if he does take over in Lancashire, he may be able to convince Hoffenheim winger Jacob Bruun Larsen to come back to the club.

Kasper Hjulmand appointment could help Burnley sign Jacob Bruun Larsen
Bruun Larsen spent last season on loan at Turf Moor, and he was one of the Clarets' standout performers in an underwhelming campaign.

In addition to Bruun Larsen's six Premier League goals, he also scored once in the EFL Cup, and Burnley announced in their retained list that they were exploring a permanent move for the 25-year-old.

Bruun Larsen said that he had "fallen in love" with the club in a post on Instagram in May, but he admitted he was unsure where his long-term future lies.

Burnley may be keen to sign Bruun Larsen on a full-time basis, but journalist Alan Nixon claimed last month that Fulham are plotting a £6 million move for him, and the Cottagers were believed to be close to reaching an agreement with Hoffenheim.

However, Hjulmand is Bruun Larsen's international manager with Denmark, and if he is appointed as the Clarets' new boss, he may be able to convince the winger to return to the club.

Bruun Larsen was included in Denmark's squad for Euro 2024, and his only appearance in the tournament came as a substitute in the defeat against Germany on Saturday night.

He may feel that playing in Premier League is the best chance to nail down his place in the Denmark squad, but the opportunity to work with Hjulmand, and to return to a club where he thrived, could be too good for him to turn down.

Burnley do have a number of dangerous wingers on their books, including the likes of Anass Zaroury, Manuel Benson, Luca Koleosho, Wilson Odobert and Mike Tresor, but Bruun Larsen was excellent in the top flight last season, and re-signing him would be a huge boost to their automatic promotion hopes.

Clarets owner Alan Pace is reportedly hoping to appoint a new manager this week, and should it be Hjulmand, it would be no surprise to see Bruun Larsen back at Turf Moor next season.

Fulham player hailed in home country – 'Deserves everything' as summer move edges closer
Given Fulham midfielder João Palhinha missed Portugal's first game at Euro 2024 and was replaced at half-time in the other two matches of the group stages, it may look like he's not appreciated by the national team.

Despite Roberto Martinez's choices, though, the Portuguese media is still showing big support for the player. And with him playing in the whole game against Slovenia, he's now been praised by the local press.

In a video brought by Mais Futebol, pundit Nuno Farinha talks about Palhinha's potential exit from Fulham and his importance to the national team.

Farinha claims that Bayern Munich weren't the only club going after the midfielder, as big Premier League sides wanted him as well. However, it's the German giants who should land him in the coming weeks, with the deal seemingly almost done.

The pundit highlights that Palhinha deserves what he's achieving, as the national team are doing the basics by having him in their line-up, and he's been showing enough to earn his place and shall continue to be an important player in the tournament in Germany.

"This player deserves everything he's achieving. Nobody is doing Palhinha any favours. Palhinha deserves and justifies all the minutes he's getting in the national team. He's totally serious."

That's some big love for the Fulham player, who should soon have his exit announced.

Club Waiting To Hear From Fulham Boss In Next 24 Hours
Saudi outfit Al-Ittihad are waiting Fulham boss Marco Silva's response in the next 24 hours, but are not confident about hearing positively from the manager's end.

Al-Ittihad are looking for a new manager following the sacking of Marcelo Gallardo in June.

They have shortlisted a number of candidates to replace the Argentine but are yet to zero in on any particular option.

Eintracht Frankfurt boss Dino Toppmoller has already refused their offer and talks with Austrian boss Adi Hutter are also off.

Silva, who has been Fulham's manager since 2021, has also been asked whether he is interested and Al Ittihad are awaiting the response of the 46-year-old on their offer, according to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti.

There is not much confidence at the Saudi club though about hearing a positive response from the Portuguese.

Former AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli also remains a concrete backup option in case of Silva's refusal.

Silva has a contract with Fulham that runs until the summer of 2026 and the Saudis have been impressed with his work.
