NFR-Canada through to the Semi finals at Copa America!

Last night Canada beat Venezuela on penalties after blowing a 1-0 lead when their keeper was lobbed after bizarrely straying way  upfield outside his box. Venezuelan fans showed their sportsmanship by pointing pen lasers into the Canadian penalty takers eyes as they prepared to shoot....nice.
 US commentators (our very own Dempsey being one) having gotten over their own team's exit, are warming to the Canucks after previously dismissive references to a boring team devoid of any real star power.
Last night's game was energetic and positive football very friendly on the eyes and full of inventive  play. This is a marked contrast to US performances and subject to much wailing and hand wringing in the media coverage of the competition..
US pundits continue to refer to Canada's AMERICAN coach, who was passed over for the position with the US team. The unspoken (though obvious) conviction being he will up-sticks and take over the American team once Canada exits after being thrashed by Argentina in the semi final game.
