Everton now set to complete second signing of the summer as 'agreement' reached with Fulham player
Everton's squad is set to undergo major squad surgery this summer transfer window.

Several players are out of contract at Everton and there is evidently a pressing need to add quality to the attacking ranks.

It emerged on Sunday morning that Everton are plotting a £38.5m move for Aleksandar Mitrovic, who would come in to replace Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Jack Grealish is also being linked to the Toffees, with the Manchester City winger set to leave the Etihad Stadium after being excluded from Pep Guardiola's Club World Cup squad.

But now, it's just emerged that David Moyes is set to complete his second signing of the summer after Carlos Alcaraz.

Everton set to sign Kenny Tete from Fulham
Everton have been eyeing Fulham's Kenny Tete as they look to replace Ashley Young, who has announced his departure.

Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, they have reached a verbal agreement to sign Tete.

The Dutch right-back was in talks to extend his deal with the Cottagers, but has evidently snubbed a new contract and will now join Moyes' side as a free agent.

Romano notes that a deal will be completed next week, with a three-year contract readied for the 29-year-old.

Tete signing rules out Kyle Walker deal
With Tete set to make the switch to Merseyside, it appears interest in Man City right-back Kyle Walker has cooled.

Everton were looking at Walker and had gained information that he was open to playing under Moyes, however, it seems as though the club feel Tete is better value.

The former Ajax defender is in the prime years of his career, unlike Walker, who recently celebrated his 35th birthday.

Everton now have Tete, Jake O'Brien and Nathan Patterson as options on the right side of defence, which is pretty strong.

Tete set for Everton switch
Fulham right back Kenny Tete will join Everton on a free transfer next month – as revealed by Fabrizio Romano this morning.

The Dutch defender rejected Fulham's offer of a new contract in February, preferring to explore his options as a free agent. The Whites tabled an offer to Tete as detailed on the club's official website earlier this month, but the twenty-seven year old has opted to become David Moyes' first summer signing as the Toffees prepare to move to Bramley Moor Dock.

The end of Tete's five-year spell in SW6 is a blow for Marco Silva, who wanted to keep hold of his first choice right back. Fulham are acting to acquire first-rate competition for Timothy Castagne. Representatives of Italian international Raoul Bellanova have held talks with Fulham's chief executive, Alistair Mackintosh and Fulham are at the front of the queue of suitors for Southampton's Kyle Walker-Peters, who is set to leave St. Mary's in eight days time.

Everton close on deal for Fulham right-back Tete
Everton are close to securing a deal to sign Fulham's Dutch right-back Kenny Tete on a free transfer.

Manager David Moyes has made the position one of his summer priorities after 39-year-old Ashley Young was not offered a new contract, and with veteran captain Seamus Coleman facing an uncertain playing future.

Tete, 29, is out of contract at the end of the month and Fulham had been hoping to extend his stay.

But he has emerged as Everton's main target and negotiations on a three-year deal are advanced for the defender, who has played 14 times for the Netherlands.

Jake O'Brien, who was signed from Lyon as a central defender, performed consistently at right-back following Moyes' appointment in January after being ignored by predecessor Sean Dyche, while Scotland defender Nathan Patterson has also been used.

Moyes, however, was keen to secure proven Premier League pedigree and had been linked with Manchester City's England veteran Kyle Walker, Southampton's Kyle Walker-Peters and Vladimir Coufal, who he managed at West Ham United.

Former Ajax and Lyon man Tete, however, is the preferred option after spending almost five years at Fulham.

Fulham's Tete looks set to join Everton
Kenny Tete looks on course to leave Fulham and join Everton.

Tete's contract expires this summer and the Whites have offered him a new deal.

But Everton have also made an offer and the Dutch right-back, 29, appears to be ready to join the Merseyside club.

Tete has been at Fulham for almost five years, having been signed from Lyon in September 2025.

He has made 109 league appearances for the club, scoring four goals, but looks set to leave on a free transfer.

Back to Fulham? João Palhinha the latest Bayern Munich player to be linked to his former club
The Portuguese international also doesn't want to go.

Bayern Munich midfielder João Palhinha has not firmly established himself in his first season with the German record champions...and while he has stated his desire to continue, he is among several players repeatedly linked with a move away.

The latest report, which comes from Mail Sport's Simon Jones, suggests that Palhinha could have a chance to return to his former club, Fulham.

As captured by @iMiaSanMia:

Fulham are exploring a potential return for João Palhinha. The midfielder wants to fight for his place at Bayern but the Bundesliga champions are willing to consider offers. A number of Premier League sides are interested in an initial loan with Fulham among those, though his salary could prove prohibitive [Simon Jones, @MailSport]

Is it starting to feel like déjà vu yet?

Like Sacha Boey, Palhinha is not exactly a fixture in Vincent Kompany's lineups. Like Boey, Palhinha has been linked right back to the club that Bayern transferred him in from. And like Boey...Palhinha doesn't want to leave, and his old club might not be able to afford him.

Will Bayern sell any of its top transfer candidates this summer?

Graham Potter pushing West Ham United to sign Joao Palhinha
West Ham United manager Graham Potter is eager to bring Bayern Munich outcast Joao Palhinha to the London Stadium ahead of next season.

Joao Palhinha could end up making a return to the Premier League this summer as his move to Bayern Munich has not really gone according to plan. Fulham and West Ham United have emerged as two potential destinations for the Portuguese international.

According to Graeme Bailey via TBR Football, Graham Potter is keen on having Palhinha in his squad at West Ham. He has asked the Hammers to battle it out with the Cottagers to sign the 29-year-old ahead of next season.

The East London club did not have the best of seasons last time out, and they will be looking to make significant additions to their squad in hopes of making a comeback. Graham Potter, who took charge at the start of the year, did manage to steady the ship. But now, he will be looking to take the next step and will hope he has the backing of the management in the transfer market.

The former Brighton & Hove Albion and Chelsea boss seeks more quality in midfield, and he has his eyes set on Palhinha. The 29-year-old made quite a name for himself while playing for Fulham. On the back of his impressive performances, Bayern Munich forked out £47 million to add him to their squad last summer.

Unfortunately, the move has not worked out as the Portuguese international has struggled to establish himself in Vincent Kompany's team. He racked up less than 1,000 minutes of first-team action.

West Ham United to rival Fulham for Palhinha

While talking about Palhinha's future to TBR Football, Bailey said: "I do know that Fulham have kept in touch but I guess that was part of their deal that they would. I know that Graeme Potter would love him at West Ham, but West Ham are in all sorts of problems. They can't do anything until they get player sales.

"But obviously, Palhinha, the deal he's on. I guess anyone would struggle to do a permanent deal. But I think Palhinha is one to keep an eye on. I think we could see him come back. I don't see him going anywhere but London. I wouldn't rule out a Fulham loan, I really wouldn't."

Frustrated by the lack of minutes, Joao Palhinha is ready to part ways with Bayern Munich, and recent reports suggest the German club are ready to sanction his departure. A host of clubs are keeping a close eye on his situation, and West Ham United and Fulham are among them.

The Cottagers are in conversation as they want to re-sign him. A loan move back to his former club cannot be ruled out. But the Hammers are ready to battle them at the request of their manager. Potter wants someone who can strengthen the defensive side of things and provide some balance.

He considers Palhinha an ideal fit, and with him set to be available, this could be a golden opportunity for Potter's team. However, they can't spend before they cash in on a few of their players. As a result, they do have their task cut out.

Fulham (2) – QPR (2) – 'Danger from Flying Bombs – Spotters shall be Stationed to give Warning of imminent Danger...'
Football League South

Team: Brown, Rose, Abel, Smith, Ridyard, Mallett, Jones, Sibley, Heathcote, Fitzgerald, Burley

Attendance: 8,000

On 9th September 1944, QPR travelled to Craven Cottage. Included in the Rangers line-up were two guest players. Jones at No.7 was a West Brom player and Sibley at No.8 was attached to Southend United.

Ben Burley has 'Chelmsford' scribbled above his name, but Rangers had signed him two years earlier and had made his debut against Tottenham on 5th September 1942.

The player had moved from Darlington to Chelmsford in 1939 and had guested for a number of different clubs during the War years.

The programme issued a warning of potential danger from flying bombs: 'Spotters shall be stationed to give warning of imminent danger, and a flag will be displayed on the scoreboard on the river side and also on the main Stand.

On such warning being given, the game shall be suspended at once, those present being advised to take cover under the Stands or nearest available place. All exit gates will be opened for those who wish to leave the ground.'

The V-1 flying bomb, aka the doodlebug, was first launched against London a few months earlier on 13th June.

And the day before the match, the first V-2 rocket hit Staveley Road in Chiswick.

In the West Ham home match programme a week later, manager Dave Mangnall provided a few lines on the game.

'Those of our supporters who made the journey to Fulham last Saturday will be pleased with the show our boys put up. We had all the luck that was going; we might easily have run out winners by two clear goals.

However, at any time it is an achievement to take a point from Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Paddy Fitzgerald scored both our goals (one from a penalty), and Harry Brown made a brilliant save from O'Callaghan's penalty kick.'

He also added the following about the reserve match played the same day against Fulham at Loftus Road.

'Meanwhile, the reserves had a hard game against them at Loftus Road against a much older team.

Although they lost 0-1, reports assure me that they served up some very good football.'

That draw at Craven Cottage gave the R's their first league point of the season after three games.

Kenny Tete: A Strategic Free Transfer to Everton?
Everton are reportedly on the brink of securing a free transfer deal for right-back Kenny Tete, whose contract with Fulham expires on June 30, 2025. A verbal agreement has been reached for a three-year deal, set to run until June 2028, making him potentially the club's first summer signing

Why Everton needs him
With veteran captain Seamus Coleman advancing in age and limited options like Jonjoe Kenny, Nathan Patterson, and Ashley Young underwhelming, Tete offers much-needed Premier League experience. He brings a solid record: four goals and ten assists across 121 Fulham appearances since 2020.

Player profile
The 29‑year‑old Dutch full‑back is a dependable defender with crossing ability and attacking instincts. However, he has had challenges staying injury‑free, surpassing 30 appearances in a single season only once. That said, his four-year stint in England and prior spells at Ajax and Lyon give him valuable top-tier know‑how.

Everton's bigger summer picture
The move fits into Everton's larger restructuring under David Moyes, as several contracts and loan deals expire this summer. Sources suggest Everton is also exploring other right-back options like Kyle Walker, Vladimir Coufal, and Kyle Walker-Peters, even as they offer Coleman a one-year extension.

What's Next?
With the transfer window open since June 16, Everton are poised to finalise Tete's signing as soon as July 1—once he's officially a free agent. A measured move, but one that targets a key gap in their squad.

Bottom Line?
Tete may not be a headline-grabbing signing, but he addresses a pressing need. For Everton, it's a low-risk, experienced acquisition. For Fulham, it's the end of a dependable era at right-back. The coming weeks will reveal if Tete can deliver the consistency and defensive security Everton hope for—or if Moyes opts for an even broader rebuild.

Liverpool: Brighton 'prepare £40m bid' for unsettled Harvey Elliot after Florian Wirtz signing
The move could benefit another Premier League side

Brighton are reportly preparing a hefty bid for Liverpool's Harvey Elliot, in a move which could also prove lucrative for Fulham.

The England youth international, 22, joined Liverpool from Fulham in 2019, since picking up Premier League and Club World Cup winners' medals, but could now move in pursuit of increased playing time following the arrival of Florian Wirtz.

He made 28 appearances last season, scoring five goals and assisting three, after missing the early season with a broken foot.

Brighton are now said to be readying a £40million bid for the player, according to reports in The Sun.

The Seagulls consider Elliot a 'key target' and hope that the presence of his former Liverpool teammate James Milner could help coax him to the South Coast.

Upon Elliot's sale to Liverpool in 2019, Fulham reportedly insisted on the inclusion of a 20 per cent sell-on clause, meaning the Cottagers could stand to earn around £8m from the deal.

Wolves were also reported by TalkSport to hold an interest in Elliot earlier this year.

He could become one of several attacking departures from Liverpool this summer, with Federico Chiesa and Darwin Nunez also set to depart the club.

Elliot has scored twice in four appearances so far at the U21 European Championships, finding the back of the net in a group stage tie against the Czech Republic and in a quarter-final win over Spain.

Speaking ahead of the tournament, though, he told the media that he was carefully considering his next career steps, but confirmed he had no overwhelming desire to leave Liverpool.

"It's just a situation that me and the team have to have a conversation about," he said. "I'm coming into an age now where I'm 22, I'm going to be 23 next season. I don't really want to be wasting years on my career because it's a short career. You don't know what's going to happen.

"I need to reflect. I need to see if I'm content in doing what I'm doing and how can I improve as a player because that's the most important thing.

"I just want to improve and be the best possible version of myself. If that's to go somewhere else, then it's a decision that I'm going to have to make and I just need to see what happens.

"Nothing makes me want to leave. I love the club, I love the fans, the team. I support them as well. But most importantly, it's just about what's best for my career."

A transfer is not likely to be completed while Elliot is competing in the U21 Euros, which end on June 28.
